  1. Thank you for that Jennings era info.
  2. Definitely run MaxLoad or better. You'll need Straight Cut gears if you do the TZ bearings though.
  3. Hard to get much more then a 10mm stuffed up and down that cylinder. Been done long ago.
  4. Derrr.... Banchees are tempermental and needs lotsa wrenching cuz dry be so unreliable..... ^sure thing
  5. "So, this weekend we had 2 back to back qualifying hits on Fri., with no time to make a clutch adjustment. Both times it drove thru the clutch, but the 2nd pass was a little better with the clutch being hot. " I'm intrigued that the set up was identical yet the second run licked better results despite the clutch being hotter. Is that red flag info? Or do you just chalk it up to tires being better after being warmer
  6. Shh... Don't say nothing about the stem.
  7. New link. http://www.travistollett.com/blog/2014/8/12/theo-18-yrs-pikes-peak
  8. Eagle one stuff for wheels does a decent job. Any cleaner would require blasting.
  9. Stockers will do... But, if you are in a position to buy carbs I suggest buying a set of PWK's. Size would be dictated on what other mods you plan on doing to the bike.
  10. Head gasket is not sealing.
  11. Yes. You will have to send someone those domes though as the trinity heads only use their style domes. It shouldn't be to much work for someone to just cut over what you got.
  12. ^ what beef said. But to do it totally right is only about $750 less then a cub.
  13. This ignorance is just a blanket statement the mechanically Un inclined use to describe what they don't know/realize is fixed with just simple tuning and adjustments. You always hear that two strokes are supposed to foul plugs, not have low end, bla bla.... Just last night I sat through a guy telling me that his old 250R was race only and that unless you were wide open it would just foul plugs and shut off. <Nonsense! People need to fucking Educate themselves and maybe their shit would run worth a damn. If you half ass it or never really fix something, how can I be expected to not be problematic.
  14. Definitely not optimal, but better then having it all cobbled and ported for a Spacer plate. The best way to get it set up. If indeed you do have a long rod crank, you need Weisco 795's or the new Weisco pistons from Driveline Prfomance. Then have the head cut and rechambered or get a cool head and have domes cut for the set up. The domes will be machined in a way that allows the piston to still clear even with the extra stroke. Port work can/should be done to accommodate the stroke and your riding style.
  15. Technically the past 2014 PPIHC winner is a yfz450, but it's no four stroke. Finally someone took the time to do a nice write up on it and here it is. http://www.travistol...-yrs-pikes-peak
  16. Use a lowering link in the rear. Just make sure it's one you can lube. Up front you can get pretty low with some blaster shocks(14")or really slam it with 300ex (13")fronts. I personally don't like the 300ex shocks as they are really weird feeling and don't have much travel. No bracketry up front!
  17. ^that. If you're riding Open stuff go for a Cheetah Cub. Simple, and almost any combo for them has been thought out, tested and optimized. A 501 4 stroke is gonna have a hard time even pacing any 90+HP banshee on open ground.
  18. How much run time? What throttle ranges?
  19. If you know in your head what direction the exhaust goes after the first time it leaves the cylinder, and at what speed, you would have the knowledge if what you can do to those pipes. On that note: you can shorten the silencer a bit and get a small improvement on sound and pull a few more RPM's. Nothing serious, but it's really about the only change you should be thinking of making to those.
  20. The trick is to wipe your bum first, then it just slides right on by without a trace.
  21. What kind of riding? Open trails, tight technical trails, dunes, drag?
