  1. Seen many "Mint" used pistons have skirts that were quite collapsed.
  2. Yep. I just don't have that all at once to spend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. In the past I've seen wheels annodized black but there is a hint of blue sheen. Kinda making it look raven. I have been googling for a it but not finding any thing but actual jet black and charcoal looking stuff at best. Any one have any ideas on where I could get some wheels done like that? Or even know the actual name of a dip or powder similar?
  4. Agreed. He was looking for $8,500 when I spoke with him last year. He doesn't really wanna sell it that bad.
  5. Same combo going in a lightened chassis with a -2. Gonna be SAWEET!
  6. $200 if they are nice and clean.
  7. That motor definitely is not making a strong signal on those bigger carbs. Meaning that it's not drawing through the jets with much force. You may need to run a much larger jet to compensate. Another issue, popping and backfiring through the carb is a reed issue. Those pyramids are old, I bet it's time for new petals. Might as well do newer reeds all together.
  8. Either or. I like how that guy on one of the last 450 swaps ran the radiator, but he had to cut the hood so it poked through a bit. This could solve that. Banshee power, banshee looks, modern handling... Beautiful. Meh, just a thought in my head. Definitely a lot of hassle, but I've helped skin race cars and have done some fiberglass fenders on off road trucks so I don't think it would be hard for me to do, but some might think of it as a pain in the ass.
  9. We had that legit pro Build a bike last season for GNCC. He's got plenty of regular old MX experience.
  10. Unless you're in to butt stuff... In that case, be as careless as you want.
  11. I've been toying with the idea of at least tabbing the front hood and fender of a banshee on to a 450. The Front of the seat pan would need massaging but it's doable.
  12. How the fuck have I not heard of HRE?! I started looking at their website and then googled it and all kinds of cool stuff is coming up.
  13. Baldwin, Standish, Cadillac, St. Helen/West Branch, plus all the local stuff around me in Oakland & Livingston Co.
  14. ^ often over looked.
  15. Speak with Arlen about it and be happy. He has built some pretty bitchin' stuff. I personally think a slingshot is a wise choice for a built trail bike.
  16. Reputable engine builder can get you 70-80HP pretty easily on stock cylinders. 4mm crank, port work, head/domes, dual carbs 28's or 35's depending what you ride, reeds, and don't forget to get the trans done as well. Pipes, there's a multitude of pipes out there that support 80+ HP motors. It's gonna depend on your riding.
  17. What is the sound test? Check the little breather under the rear motor mount.
  18. Have you pulled the clutch rod and ball to see of it welded it self together?
  19. We've got plenty of trails here though. That said, silver lake is like my girlfriend's cat's litter box.
  20. Offer 2k and buy a subframe kit from a multitude of vendors. I would assume if Arlan(Lrd) has been in that motor it scoots pretty good. There is a lot of good stuff there though. The lock up cover is wider then stock, so they tend to get right on the brake lever. Mark it and remove it and give it a few calculated bends. The leak, easy just find out which cover it is and there are a lot of fellas with gaskets/seals to get it drip free. Lout the stocker carbs back on and it could be a wild ride. Who knows, Arlan could of set it up for those 34's the guy has. Maybe he got fed up with trying to tune it....
  21. Takes the power to move that gearing though.
  22. Nice progress. The trinity pipes look pretty good in there.
  23. Nice start and good choice on fireball and JL.
  24. You should be looking for a Pro Mod, Stock mod, stock cut, EZ cut, or EZ shift. All just different names for a tranny that is just slightly massaged in an effort to obtain nice smooth shifts at any RPM on 70+ hp motors. Steer clear of the Over Rides. Those are pretty much for drag racing. There are a few guys doing what they call a Dunable Over Ride. They are supposed to be able to take some regular trail abuse, but it's on the rider to correctly use it or the shift forks will bend. Lock up is a component used to aid the clutch in the fight against slip as springs alone are not always enough on built stuff.
  25. No pipes are going in there with out some kind of massaging. Pipes hand built for the set up will be 1k and then some.
