  1. If you have stock carbs, definitely check the black tube.Very easy to forget. Also when you put the slides back in the carbs, did you put them back in right.Make sure they went all the way down in the carbs. This can also be a problem.
  2. The tires play a HUGE part in running good times.Different tracks do require different tires. The same track can also change in how it hooks up from week to week. Some trial and error will be involved.Wish it was easier.Don't forget gearing. This is one of those questions if it was asked a 100 times, you'd get a 100 different answers.Ask for answers and see what works best for you and your quad.
  3. I don't know this to be a fact, but I heard the small aluminum spare mustang rims will fit some quads.Maybe a banshee?Just what I heard.
  4. BE PROFESSIONAL.I agree with the guys on here that said this whole situation could have been handled better than venting on this forum.Everyone gets upset from time to time. It's how you deal with it that's important.Do any of us always deal with things the right way.Of course not,but you guys have a business on the line.I wouldn't buy a set of pipes from you with all this instability of your company being told on this forum.I do think this company can be turned around.Fireman sounds like he's going through an awful time. Not saying he's done nothing wrong, but as far as any of them goes,we probably don't know the whole story.Hope things get better for all of you guys.Best of luck to all of ya.Some of the best things you can do for your company is to try to work out your differences.Consider what the other guy is going through.Keep private arguements private.I think we all need to learn these lessons.Just my 2 cents.
  5. I'm a fan of the inframe pipes myself. They don't scream DRAG BANSHEE!!! Have you considered a set of out of frame pipes though?Clearance problems would be gone.
  6. Take the bowl off the carb.Flip the carb upside down.Measure from the gasket to the bottom of the float(with the carb upside down, you might call it the top of the float).I use a 6 inch scale.I think it should be 22 mm.Don't really remember for sure.Might want to call your local dealer to make sure or check a manual. If you can't get the measurement,I'll try to hunt down my manual. You can get them from your dealer,I did.If the float needs to be raised just press lightly against the tab in the middle of the float. If this doesn't fix your problem, let me know. Also, remove the float.Be careful not to lose the pin that goes up in the carb.Check for any trash. This can cause the carbs to leak also.
  7. If you are sitting on the bike(for reference),the left pipe will be extremely close to the head.I put washers in between where the hanger and the pipe attaches.I've had no problems with filter clearance.I'm not real crazy about the chrome finish. To me Toomey chrome is alot better. That being said, the performance these pipes give is nothing but AWESOME!Alot of people say these pipes pull really hard on topend. They're not kidding.Performance wise, they are the best pipes I've tried yet.
  8. I just got back from the drag strip.Kind of a bad time. One of the track staff took a picture of me taking off at the tree before time trials. The guy at the tree was extremely friendly.Everyone seemed ok.I'm almost positive 7's were going to happen today. The lowest time they called out for me was an 8.27.That was spinning the tires off through 1st and 2nd gear.I was trying to be careful not to pull wheelies too so that slowed it down some.On the last pass I made I put the wheelie bar down as far as it would go.I sit way back on the seat and hoped it would hook-up.It did,and instead of calling out my time alll they said was to stop pulling wheelies. So I purged it,loaded on the trailer and came home.Probably won't go back to George's anytime soon. They freak out anytime you pull wheelies.I thought the wheelie bar might calm their nerves. That's a BIG NO! I do understand there are safety issues involved.Maybe someone got crazy and got thrown off a quad or something.Instead of trying to be careful, some people just like to show out.I guess that's just how it goes.
  9. Not really sure of the exact distance. It was probably about a 100 yards total.I wish we had raced somewhere else.At little sahara,a few 250's tried to race me.I just run away from them.Kind of made me feel like the roadrunner and they were the coyote. My bike, when it hooks up,needs alot of room to stop it.A week ago I was racing some guys and thought I was going to hit some trees because I couldn't hardly shut it down.I know my bike will really run,but never let it be said I'm unbeatable.I've raced some banshees that made me look like I just shut my bike off. They beat me that bad.Really.
  10. Well,I've got my new F.A.S.T. clutches installed.Still dialing in a few things.Hoping for at least high 7's.Afraid the stock banshee tires will be it's downfall.Still hoping for 7's.Wheelie bar is on just in case it hooks up so I don't get body slammed.
  11. Hey,he's happy about a win.Sure there's other bikes I'd rather brag about beating, but he's happy about it.So I'm happy for him.About the zillas.Sure a ported zilla will smoke a piped banshee.I know it.Several of my friends have them.I had to get my banshee before I could beat them. They are an awesome quad,I'll agree with ya.
  12. A stock bore, stock stroke banshee can't beat a 450?Mine will. They better hope I don't hook up.Their party is over.LOL!I raced some of my friend's 450's.One was a honda and the other a yamaha. Both have pipes,K&N filter, rev box,and different cams. They do run really respectably.I was having trouble getting the banshee to hook up,but when it did I'd run right by them.Just because I can beat them, doesn't mean I don't respect them.
  13. There's something you guys need to know about getting Jeff's clutches. You better have some really good tires.I was using 4-snows at a dirt drag this past weekend. The clutches was putting the power to the tires and the tires couldn't handle it.It tries to spin them off.I can't wait to take it out and use my paddle tires.I better get the wheelie bar out.The clutches are awesome. They do their job.
  14. You are a lucky man.Wished my wife liked racing.I have shearer pipes, porting, and alcohol carbs among other things. It pulls very hard. You might be better off with bigger than stock gas carbs. The combination of the 3 will surprise you of just how fast a 350 can be.
  15. You are correct sir.I can beat a stock CR500.You should respect them though, because it takes more than just pipes on a banshee to have a chance to outrun them. They do run fast. Here's a point some people lose site of.TRACTION.People sometimes think because the dirtbikes are lighter and make decent hp.,that they can't be beat.Put the bike in sand(especially without a paddle tire),and it will have trouble hooking up.The banshee has two tires,so traction can be our friend.
  16. GET IT PORTED!!!! This makes a HUGE difference.V-force reeds are good reeds and mine have lasted for a long time. The Dyna ignition is a good ignition also.Trust me,bolt-ons help alittle and porting makes a huge difference.
  17. I was out at a place where we ride yesturday called sand creek.I had been racing my banshee against my brother's quadzilla.I was winning of course.I think I've almost got him convinced to get a banshee.Anyways,a guy come up on a yamaha 250 dirt bike.It was stock. The place where we was racing was just long enough for me to start off in 2nd ,hit third, then lock the brakes up trying to shut it down. The 250 never had a chance.By the time I finally had it shut down,he'd be turning around going back to the starting line.Yes,the 250's are beatable.Just don't expect to beat them with a stock banshee.
  18. Hey,if they can't stand losing,why do they race against banshees?How do you beat a banshee?Get a faster banshee.DUH.LOL!
  19. I'm jealous. How come the fairs where I live never have races like these you guys are talking about? How would you even get something like that started at a fair? Hey Mod banshee,as far as tires goes,a set of 4-snows or pro-wedge 2's should help alot.
  20. Sure it happens.I've seen guys lose races all because they forgot to turn the gas on.
  21. Bolt-ons will help you a little.Porting will help you ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My banshee was alot faster after it was ported.Bikes that hang with you now should be no problem smoking after you get it ported.Really,it makes that much of a difference.
  22. I might be wrong(someone correct me if I am),but I think it does matter which wire goes on which plug. Not really sure why but that's what I heard.Might try switching wires and see what happens.
  23. Good Job.
  24. Something you need to know:don't expect to beat all you 4-stroke buddies just yet. They do run good.Something to keep in mind:There is a beast hiding in that stock motor.Getting use to it stock would be a good idea. When you decide to modify it,just ask. There is a ton of people on here that will give you advice. As far as a beast in that motor,I think stock engines are putting out upper 30's in horsepower. There are some 350's making high 90's.What a joy it is when you clutch it,rev it,and then dump the clutch.Priceless.
