  1. I just went through this.....oil out the right side exhaust is a right crank seal....running bad and not consistant on the left side is a left crank seal.....I pulled the bottom of the motor off and changed both...runs great....just an FYI...D
  2. I have those intakes as well...I can not give a true ride report due to putting them in as I also ported the motor and went to a 2 into 1 carb kit...bike runs real hard...D

  5. Jetting is the way it came from Trinity, except I put the 195 main jet in it(biggist that came in the kit).....I am at 4800' , but it is like 30 degrees in Colorado so that is a big difference. Start big and work your way down...my .02...Dave I have not opened the carb to check the sizes due to wanting it rich and not really jetting it until it warms up or I head to the dunes; and I can really ride it...D
  6. Got the motor back together with the new dune/play port from FAST....started on the second kick..went through four to five heat cycles to get the rings seated...and then took it down the street...I was short shifting it to make sure the jetting would not lean out on me for the cold weather...anyway...the thing gets it...I mean it gets it.....power all over...just what I wanted....D
  7. Thanks everyone....going to go do it now...D
  8. Hey everyone....putting the motor back together and trying to find what the torque specs for the cylinders are...........? I know the head is 20lbs..., and I thought the cylinders where 23lbs, but want to make sure....thanks for the help...Dave
  9. Everyone chill out...I was just giving props to Jeff.....If I had got my motor work done by someone else and got great service for a fair price I would have said the same about them...just so happens Jeff did the top end=Jeff gets the props...It is that easy...I have seen other post about this builder did great and it did not start some big builder battle...grow up....Oh by the way I spoke with Jim before Jeff and felt better going with Jeff...no hard feelings, just preference...I am out...D
  10. Yes it is nice to get "the call"....can not wait to get it running..might be a little bit due to it being really cold in Colorado...Trying to make a trip to Glamis in the end of Jan. if that happens I will have a ride report soon...D
  11. Just got a phone call stating that my top end is being shipped back to me. Jeff had it done in four weeks and this included the holidays.....can not say more about this guys customer service and ability to get the job done as discribed and on a budget...Great job Jeff and thanks......D I will give a post when I get it together and running...
  12. I have a set of alba's +2+1 with Elka's and I like them no complaints.....went on easy and they look good... people have rode my bike and they say they love the suspension.....D
  13. I just taped them to the rest of my wires so they where not hanging and for a cleaner look....stock carbs with tors=bad.....aftermarket carbs no tors=good...D
  14. The cable comes out of the thottle housing on the handle bars. If your bike has TORS, you have to also disconnect it. It is the little black box up under the tank on the left side as you sit on the bike. At this point you can disconnect all of the tors stuff. five total. Two for carbs, one for throttle, one brake, and one at the box..good luck...they are the grey little eletrical connectors that come from all of the above locations...D
  15. How much for the pipes outright?.......
  16. call many people and go with what you think after talking to them..I went with Jeff at F.A.S.T...should have it together soon...and then D
  17. I am with rocketboy...Merry CHRISTMAS to all....D
  18. I just got the reed cages...D
  19. I got a set....when I get the motor back together I will tell all how they work....D
  20. if not yet...drain the tank and try fresh batch of premix...old gas causes many an issue...D
  21. Thanks....D
  22. You can 1) bigger carbs 2) after market float bowls....boyseen makes some that stops fuel slosh.. 3) pump around fuel pump system...I have worked on these on shifter karrts....they are awesome...runs off the pulse of the motor and pumps gas into and out of the carbs....look on any shifter kart web page and they will sell them and tell you about them...D good luck...
  23. Jeff at F.A.S.T. does a woods port for $200...I thought about it, but went with the dune / trail port...D
  24. you know what it means....there are builders all over the place.....not everyone can know ever builder ...bla bla....LOL....
  25. I have T-6's and I like them...people on the site will tell you that the t-5 is better...If you are going to go all out and build the motor down the road then the T-5 is better and toomey will tel you that. If you leave the motor mostly stock then go T-6...my bike runs well....has good power all over..., but I am sure you will get more advise..good luck..D
