How many paddles you got now? Your bike needs to spin just a little out of the hole to get the R's up. Are those ALL of your mods in your sig, too? Swinger length? If so...8 paddle haulers will do you just fine. Any straight edged paddle will do better than the V paddles you have in your sig pic.

THE TRUTH THE HOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH
dajogejr replied to ORNANGE CRUSH's topic in Drag Forum
C'mon up Travis. I've got a place to crash, less than 2 hours from the drag strip...but a solid 4.5 hours from Silver lake Dunes...if you wanted to go to Silver Lake...it'd be hotel/motel time! However, my 4 mil just sold...and I'm going 10 mil. Should be a good year!!! -
I agree with Jeff, but for 1000 you're not getting a crank to drop in and porting, etc....ain't gonna happen. Is this 250R on a drag chassis? Where are you guys running? Sand, pavement, etc? Traction control is the biggest issue for a banshee owner, sand and paddles sure help that! A good strong port job should be able to beat that bike, unless it's way lightened up...drag style. There are a lot of things to consider, as well....such as how your banshee is going to shift once you put that much more power to it. Also, a better clutch, also...a longer swingarm to keep the front end down, better flowing pipes, bigger carbs... It goes on and on. And if your skills aren't up to par...well, then you're just wasting money... Once you go down the drag racing path, you're never done with your bike. You're only in between the "Next Mod"...trust me!

If you're local to me, you're local to that ebay dealer. that's Moto-Man out of Waterford MI. Sorry....money talks and SoCallin it really, really wanted it bad. I'm glad he picked it up! Call Jeff @ FAST racing to see if he'll match that price or beat it. If not...then, hey...you know where you can get it. Also, get that crank re-welded for insurance. The Wiseco Hot rod cranks have been known to separate, even though they are "welded" from the factory....Jeff can do a very nice job of that too. Look around, I would NOT buy ported cylinders off Ebay, no telling what you're getting into. However, there has to be a few members here with stock non-ported cylinders that would work with you.... You can get pistons for 159.99 and ALL gaskets, and wrist pin bearings from Magic Racing in Shelby Twp....

If it doesn't feel like it has compression when you kick it, and it won't start...I think you answered your own question. Pick up a compression tester and check it....

Yes...we all know. This has been covered 1 gazillion times. Just do a search on 07 or 2007 banshee. They're available everywhere BUT the US.... ::

I rate the coolant overflow bottle on these bikes just below the TORS system as far as usefulness and being practical... I know how it's supposed to work, but...it don't.
-
Like I said...in my experience, it doesn't work as a recirculation tank. I know of the flaw in the stock hose routing, trapping coolant under the gas tank, precisely why i relocated mine to the front of the frame. Same thing.... Think of it another way. As coolant gets hot...it expands, right? So...top off the radiator, it'll spit a little bit onto the ground or into the bottle technically, right? And the radiator will still be full. Then...when it cools down, according to the recirculation theory..it'll suck the coolant back into the rad. Well, if it's just going to put it in the bottle, than take it back, leave the overflow bottle off. It'll expand and fill the system once heated and under pressure...then, lower the level once cooled all the way off. Right?

Catholic high school...ah, the days... Had a real wackjob of a religion teacher, used to bring in his guitar and sing... So, we removed the screw from the door knob...and a friend knocked on the door from the outside...then ran down the hall. Teacher went to grab a handful of doorknob, it came off, he fell on his ass....and couldn't open the door. Kids were yelling and screaming (all trying to freak out the teacher...even more than he was) Shortest kid in class climbed out the window onto the roof (the room overlooked a half/roof only 2 or three feet below the windows). the teacher was yelling frantically and passing notes under the door we need help, unlock the door. Some kids even lit cigarettes to tell the teacher they'd blow smoke signals under the door, at that point...he lost all control of the class and couldn't stop them. Finally maintenance opened the door. Before the teach left to go home, the football team moved his parked car sideways in the parking lot so he had no chance of driving the car out of the spot (between two walls, sideways) It was a little horizon or one of those tiny little cars. Yeah, he had a nervous breakdown just after that.....

Good to hear. That means you need a larger pilot if it idles and runs better with the air screw almost all the way in. If it has stock pilots, go to a 27.5 (next bigger size), it if already is bumped up one..go to 30. I think 27.5 with 1.0 to 2.0 turns out will put you right on the money....and it will start easier too. It's asking for more fuel on idle to 1/8 throttle...a bigger pilot will get you there!

Kai....do I get a commission? LOL... Steve, unless someone plops cash in hand, paypal or money order by Monday, you'll have yourself a nice cub and crank to go along with that!! Stay tuned buddy!!

I've got it up for sale here and on Planet Sand. First one to SHOW me the money gets it.... It's literally going to cost me little or no money out of pocket to go from a 4mil to a 10 mil, so...easy choice for me. But, I really do love this little motor...I almost hate to see it go! Motor's gonna be torn down anyway...so, I'll post up pics when I start. Also, I'd prefer a money order or cashiers check. Paypal will put a hurtin on me for fees on a 1000 dollar sale. You can ask several members here who I've shipped parts for before I had their cash/check in hand, I'm a stand up guy, not going anywhere...and stand behind my stuff. But, for 1000 dollars, as you can imagine...I'll ship when money is in hand...I know you'll all understand that one!! -
Brady...where are you located? I just might be selling mine in order to go from my 4 mil cub to a 10 mil...not sure. They are holeshot XCRs, shaved off...Ice PICKs, NOT cold cutters.... I'm in SE Michigan...
-
TY...Sheefreak. I know you're on a budget...so, think about it carefully. You're not going to slap a 4 mil cub motor in a bike and be happily ever after. You will need a clutch upgrade (lockup more than likely) a longer swinger, etc. So...do your research. While I'd be happy to sell you my motor, I don't think I'd be doing you justice by saying it's a drop in motor, have a nice day. You have to compliment the package...

I know you said budget...but this is a steal... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71057

Time to go bigger, if I get what I want for my 4 mil. Up for sale is my 4 mil, 68mm bore cub cylinder. One season on it. Cleaned up port by Jeff @ FAST. Also a 4 mil long rod hot rods crank, re-welded by Jeff @ FAST with a Maxload bearing on the PTO side. Would like to get 1000 for both, cylinder and crank. I got a steal on a bigger motor, otherwise I'd keep this setup. Ran a 4.7 in 300ft sand drag on gas, stock frame, stock transmission and stock clutch (no lockup) with a +6 swinger. Very easily cold be a 4.2 to 4.3 bike with a lockup, override and alky...maybe faster (rider/frame weight deciding factor). Motor is out of the bike, 100% assembled right now. Will send or post pictures for serious inquires... Several members here will vouch at the track and dunes this bike ran fantastic and hard.... Why spend 875 to 900 for a cleaned up cub when you can spend a few hundred more and get the CRANK AND Cylinder!! **Ladies, nice Christmas gift for that banshee rider in your life...LOL** My feedback here is clean and 100%...no punches pulled, no BS...straight up. C'mon...someone wants to be F.A.S.T.

THE TRUTH THE HOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH
dajogejr replied to ORNANGE CRUSH's topic in Drag Forum
Don't know what I was thinking Rog...I should've just asked you!! Thanks a bunch!! I'm torn down 100%. E's gonna have my motor soon, all the goodies goin in. Yes, finally an Override!! I'm thinking end of this year...if it all holds together I'll spend a day of T&T at Bob's to see what some GRRs can do for me, that's just simply an offer I can't refuse!! Maybe tune in the dyna while I"m out there!! Trav...would love to meet up and ride. I think the sand drags and Silver Lake will be my primary rides this year, but a trip...maybe 2 to OK Little Sahara might be in the cards!!! That cheetah of your should put the hurtin on my little cub, but...it's all in good fun anyway you look at it!! -
Did you actually read what I wrote? .030 and pump gas might not mix. You can always take more off, at the cost of a head gasket and coolant...you ain't gonna add material back however.
