Previous Fields

  • My Banshee (optional)
1995 Banshee had it since brand new. It has been changed to purple and black, has a Prodesign cool head with 18cc domes, boost bottle, and timing plate, delta force 2 reeds, dyna programable ignition, T5's, lsr axle and hubs, hyper carbon fiber wheels, lightened flywheel, shift star, and dual PE carbs i got off of two 85 250r. The things i want to do is get a port job a -1 swing arm round housing, and long tavel in the front probably by janssen.

  1. i wouldnt go the route of a spacer plate spend the extra money and have someone do the port work you will be so happy you spent the extra cash rather then cheaping out in the end! Passion does a great job and his feed back is great on here. Ask anyone running one of his motors!
  2. im kinda surprised there are not a lot of people using them i guess they are just odd balls of a sort, but from what i have read tuning them shouldnt be all that bad. I hope someone out there has a little more help though
  3. OK this is what i have and this is where i need a lot of help because i dont want my quad to end up in a box again. Ok 4mm crank 68mm cubs so a 421 shee with delta 2's light flywheel no timing mods but i have a dyna set at full advance which i think is around 4 degrees my cool head had 19cc domes in it now with a grand rivers intake setup for the carbs also have open air pods. Thats pretty much all my mods that matter. I just got a pair of lectrons set up for alky they are dual power jets. My main question is where should I start how hard will it be to tune and what oil should I use what brands are you guys using. I know i will have to purge my system after every ride and there are a lot os storage issues on this. Also i did look at many of the posts on here on tuning for alky before i asked this question and i read all of reds posts. I am just not used to these carbs or alky and i dont want to mess up because you only get one chance. Thanks for your time. I have always had no problem jetting my carbs when they were pe's so i know about the jets and needles. Its just the lectrons only use the needle and the power jets and im not really used to them so id like some pointers.
  4. the hinson set up does it come with hub and pressure plate?
  5. Thinking is the key word!!! I guess you dont do that yourself. I guess anyone with a banshee that isn't stock would have to be not thinking because someone had to have worked on the bike and made something theirself for once?? Go figure...just a dunb ass i guess.
  6. use your rags and if you have a shop vac handy that would be a good idea to use to suck out anything else that might fall in there. I have used a few different things but normally it just takes time and a gasket scraper. I like them better then a razor blade but i might be a panzy.
  7. ok this will sould really okey and like you would be riggen some shit up, but i am pretty sure it would work. Just go to the hardware store take the screw that you have fine a bolt that matches the threads and get a locking nut. Go home and go to the grinder and match the bitch from the screw that you have i would do it with the nut you just bought on it that way you can just unscrew it to clean up the threads. It sounds stupid I know but I am pretty sure it would work. So, anyone that wants to tell me im stupid thats fine.
  8. first things first its just bild steel not aluminum. second bending them back will probably make them bend again. Can you weld and would you trust your weld to hold with you riding your bike? If you could bend them back and brace them some how then weld the braces in then you would be fine with out getting another frame. Another thing you have to look into is that if you bend them back will you get them back where they need to go? The sad thing about all of this you did it on a banshee that doesn't even have pipes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. i want the nerfs but do you have any pics of them? for 90 if you have some pics ill buy them right now
  10. i could see it being a very close race to be honest with you. My buddy has a 125 thats has a pipe a big carb and reeds and it runs right with all of us when we are out riding and its not like anyone of us can just pull away. If the guy can ride you will have your hands full. Its all about power to weight and the rider!!
  11. from what i have looked at i have only seen them used on higher horsepower bikes around the 70-75 up to keep from smoken your clutch when your are at high rpms, but i could be wrong.
  12. sounds like a typical banshee problem to me the same thing has happened to mine and i ended up putting a new clutch arm in my bike and a new rode and ball. To fix the problem from doing it again i put the pancake bearing in it and i havent had any problems since.
  13. thanks for the help. I think i am going to use tcs they seem to be a little better then works to me anyways
  14. super easy job very very basic i would say tops 2 hours and ebay wouldn't be a bad place to get parts, also this forum has a lot of people selling things in the for sale and i think i seen a set of a arms and a shock.
