New bolts, anything better than Alloy Boltz?
dajogejr replied to dajogejr's topic in Product Reviews
Alloyboltz wouldn't cut me a deal at ALL for ordering 3 kits for the polished bolts, 2 for a banshee and 1 for a YFZ. I purchased three sets off "the fastener guy" off Ebay...they're polished, but not show polish. So...I should have the bolt kits by the end of this week, and I'll let all know how they work out... -
421 on race fuel with proper carbs and those CPI pipes will make high 80s, even mid to low 90's all day long. It is a DRAG bike and duner then....trust me on that. You can get ridable 70's all day long on OEM cylinders, you're gonna have to get bigger carbs, though.

He's got a thing for neon green...bright as all hell, and distracting, I'll give him that... :yelrotflmao:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...sspagenameZWDVW Try that Kai. My boy's bike, seen it in person, it looks nice. It's what gave me the idea to PC my cases too after I saw this bike....

Lee...I don't know if this helps, but I just got blasted with about 14 emails from PM's I've already received throughout the day....Just NOW. I double checked, no new PMs. I'm thinking you "restarted" or kicked up somethin....freed up my messages.... Just an FYI if it helps.

You've got a set of pipes setup for a ported motor/drag motor, stock carbs, no porting. That setup is mismatched at best. Use your stock swingarm, 6 over and your weight will sit and spin....while a box stock 700 will eat you up at the starting line and keep on going. If that Raptor's done up, you're gonna need more than pipes and a head bolted on....

Not to sound like a jerk...but if you're posting pictures of plugs from "a weekend of riding"...you're wasting your time. You plug chop to dial in your main. Unless you held that bike WIDE OPEN the whole time, the plugs mean nothing now.... Here's the correct way to do a plug chop... http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html

Chain broke and crank case is smashed

Someone on here or Planet Sand is sure to have a set of stock cases....in good shape. -
what kind of intake and v-force2s or 3s

RDZ is in MI too... -
Yep...that's true. My buddy has a set of Neon Green A Arms in his garage up in a shelf, that are trashed because it did just that, PCin'g them ruined the balljoints. I had to laugh when he said I keep them there as a reminder of what a stupid idea that was.... LOL...

27.5 pilot by the way boys....30 is too rich, and they go up in size by 2.5 increments. Typo on loco's part... 25 is stock, 27.5 is next then 30. You don't need 30s.... Please don't write in all caps, it's the equivalent of shouting and makes for tough reading. Does this bike still have the TORS? Did you put the slides in the right carbs? (Cutout should face the airbox/air filters) Did you syncronize the carbs/slides. Did you put the correct float bowl on the correct carb? Did you put the choke tube back on from the left to right carb?

Some of you might not know Jankab, but he's on Planet Sand all day long. When I was having trouble with my cub motor last year, I looked him up...talked on the phone with him a few times...and asked for his help. He's a no bullshit kinda guy, straight up, and is willing to help anyone that asks for it. 100% honest, and has saved me a ton of loot last year and this year. It was his hookup for the powdercoaters for the frame and cases you may have seen in the images section...and it's because of him I can afford to build my 10 mil this year...without that, my wallet just isn't deep enough. I've been to his house probably 5 or 6 times this year, and I can tell you with 100% certainty and honesty that what he is saying about the late delivery and incomplete bike are 100% correct and dead on. No BS, no fluff, no smoke and mirrors...period. I've only dealt with Braxton for the chain I gave him (a 90 dollar, one year old gold X Ring chain) for shipping only. Payment took way longer than what it should've (12 bucks, and I kept the PMs telling him it was 11.15 actual shipping price, just paypal or send me 12 bucks and call it square)...and to be shorted 2 bucks. It wasn't about the 2 bucks, it was about the waiting AND not coming up on his end. yes, he paypaled me the money later....and squared up with me...sorry, still a bad taste for me though. I go out of my way to help people here, many times shipping parts before I even get the payment. I vouched for davem06's character to bansh-eman for some carbs. Greg (bansh-eman) said he got the money order from CANADA faster than most people get him paid in the US... Bottom line, Enter at own risk....

Play with air pressure too...go from 2.5 lbs in each all the way up to 5 or 6... 7 I think is way too much arm as well for that bike. With a 6 over on my 421 cub I ran 10 paddle haulers, I weigh 245 lbs, with Marvin Shaw shocks (very stiff drag shocks) at 14/41 gearing. Traction was not even a problem.. But...a YFZ probably will get a jump on you...they hook up very well...period.

I wouldn't ride it for a LONG time at WOT in 6th, but...it should run at WOT for a little while like you're saying without locking up. Might be time to check the taper/bore of the cylinders...etc. Did you check it for clearances, squish, compression...etc. Running good enough fuel and oil, etc.?
-
Plug chop is a plug chop...but, it has racing fuel, what mods are done to the compression or timing to warrant it??
-
DO not get a cub for trails, please.... You wouldn't take a top fuel dragster to the grocery store...would you? +2 +1 a arms, aftermarket suspension (Elka, fox floats, works, etc.) and a good porting on your OEM cylinders is all you'd need for a great ride.
-
Normally, you can just hone the nikasil to take off the glaze. But it's a crap shoot/guesing game right now... Take off the top end, see what it looks like. don't forget, locking up an engine is not nice on the crank/crank bearings, either...

pj 34s how to tell if there alky carbs
dajogejr replied to BANSHEEB0B's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
If you can fit a .125 drill bit into the dump tube, it's been drilled out for alky. -

"round here" in the 39mm PWK carbs we use 55 pilots....sometimes a hair bigger. Turn the carb upside down with the bowl off. If the floats are level, or even slightly tilted towards the top of the carb opposite side of the needle/seat, you're good. When you say screws do you mean air screws....or the power jet screws? Does it have power jets? -
Sparky's are the clamp on spark arrestor, I've got a pair as well from my old Toomey's that worked on my old infram sb shearers. Are the PC silencers and oval like the FMF style??
-
Do me a favor and take the carbs off, I'll do you a favor and bring over my crossover tube to GIVE you and eliminate that boost bottle. I've purchased intakes from MajicMike so I don't need my crossover anymore...
-
I even put a thin...thing coat on all orings in my cool head. One it helps them stick better and not fall out when installing, and two ...it helps seal. My brand new head leaked out the back elbow from the head to the water pump...and yes, it was tight. Lil dab of RTV on the ORing, no more leaky!!!
-
You said "backup Plug"... Get two fresh plugs. What are all your mods? What temp and elevation do you ride at? How fresh is the gas in the bike...
-
I always use a skim coat of high temp RTV on anything intake... Just my .02. Orings can leak too...
-
Good for you man....at least no one else hopefully will get scammed by this guy....
