JT...for some reason I don't get emails on updates in the for sale section. just saw this now. You know how to get a hold of me...so, let me know...

He is more than likely correct. They will fit on the intake side of the motor. The airbox side (the bell) is larger than stock carbs. You will need larger boots to mate them up to the airbox. I know Vito's carries them, but...I'd call them to see if they ship to AU. Here's a linky... http://www.vitosperformance.com/atv_parts/...=181&page=1

If you're gonna drag race, then you need a lockup and override. If you just want to rev out...wait to shift...rev out again, the clutch Jeff @ FAST Sells held up to my nearly 100HP 4 mil cub all last year without issue, and it was on it's second year...and still looks great. Use all 6HD springs and it will be fine. With 90HP, your stock tranny won't shift for shit, I don't care what kind of clutch you put in it. You can buy some items to make it shift a little better, but..the tranny is designed for a 33 or so HP bike. Tripling that more than exposes it's limits....

You're telling me!! I went from stock motor w/ bolt ons to a 4 mil cub, now I'm going 10 mil on alky drag bike. I HOPE I'm done for a while....but something tells me I'll be building a 16 or 20 mil Cheetah next year....LOL. Ask Jim if he feels 33s or 35s will better suited for his porting and Shearer pipes. I'd say 35s...but...his call...

stock trx 450r what to do to it
dajogejr replied to DADEBOYRACER101's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Thanks for the honest opinion! I'll have to share with my buddy...although I don't know if they make a Venom big enough for the NMotion cylinder he has now!!! -
stock trx 450r what to do to it
dajogejr replied to DADEBOYRACER101's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Two guys I ride with had his hammer head piston, the rings didn't last long on those at ALL. Are the venom holding up better? And by not holding up, I'm talking less than half a season, couple trips to a 500 ft drag strip (probably 20 passes to 30 passes) and a 4 day dune trip. Rings were shot. Granted, they were 2 ring pistons....but...both motors ate rings! They did make good power, though! -

Scott...I think my buddy would fully agree with you. His old ESR 480 kit ran very strong, and after a lot of money spent on an Nmotion cylinder and Falicon Crank, neither of us were very impressed with it. Yeah, HRC kit is WELL worth it. Just make sure you get a shim kit or have someone that knows how to install a cam do it properly, it is NOT a drop in, they use shims to set clearances on valves...and that is critical on these motors!! Sred...Venom isn't a Mixxer piston, is it? When I had just bolts on to my banshee, pipes, pods, timing and flywheel, my buddy with his 450 had a TON of very good races....he won some and I won some. (Although, if either of us have a few beers, we would each tell you we both won the majority of them...he he...it's all good.) That's why I laugh when people say these 4 pokes are slow. Compared to an alky breathing cub motor, yes...they're not even close (as my buddy found out) but a basic ported and piped banshee will have it's hands full with a properly setup 450.... And the YFZs drag even better!!!! -
You're rich on your main, you probably need to richen up the air screw. Try turning them both in all the way, then turn each one out half a turn. Start the bike, warm it up...go for a ride. Turn each air screw out another 1/2 turn, wait 20 seconds for the new setting to take effect, go for another ride. When you get the highest idle and best throttle response off the bottom, your air screws are set. Next check the sync in your slides....adjust them with the idle knobs on top the tors... I'd say 220 main or 230 main you'll be fine. Mains have no effect on performance until about 3/4 throttle...

hp difference between t-5's and cpi's
dajogejr replied to motocrossrider68's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
In my opinion....if you're not going to get bigger carbs to compliment the CPI pipes and port job, stick with T5s. -
Jim's port job must like a HUGE pilot, cause any other bike ported on Toomey pipes a 27.5 would be fine. I would ask Jim what he suggests...but...I think you're making a bad choice with stock carbs and Shearer Pipes.... The dune port will pull them, you're getting a top end orientated pipe but choking that motor down with stock carbs. I think 33PWK or 35PWK carbs are in your near future. Yes, yes...I know it will run on stockers, but...just like T5 pipes and stock carbs on a cub, you're chocking the motor out. (This is from 100% experience, by the way, not heresay...)

stock trx 450r what to do to it
dajogejr replied to DADEBOYRACER101's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
www.trx450.org Cam, pipe, air filter, ignition....how much money ya got? Trust me on this, you could easily spend three times as much on this bike as you could a banshee to go half as fast!!! How committed are you? My buddy has a 450R that he got the biggest NMotion and Falicon kit he could get for it, a 564 kit. It's still no drag race bike, but....it is a TON of fun to ride. I know you're not looking for a 450R vs. built banshee comparison... BUT: You asked about drag racing and you asked about it on a BANSHEE site...so, it's only fair!! -
Yeah right....you turned your kids loose with a black Crayola Crayon...who are you kidding??? LOL... :yelrotflmao:

Chain wear to your sprockets, sprockets wear to your chain. Worn or slightly worn sprockets will quickly wear out a brand new chain. If you are certain that the sprockets are good....ok then. But, you're gonna spend 75 bucks to 100 bucks on a quality chain, is it worth saving 30 bucks to reuse old sprockets, at the risk of prematurely wearing out that brand new chain? I try not to spend money foolishly either, but...at the same point, safety and reliability comes in there. That's where this falls under in my opinion....
-
No offense Mike or JIm, but until we can get your bike to run, and run well....these intakes aren't going to help. They are nice, worth it...and very good looking, but...you've got other fish to fry Jim. First things first buddy.

PWKs would be my choice since you already have 'em, and I like their design better than the PJs. Don't get me wrong, PJs are good carbs, I feel the PWKs are better. I had the same 35's on my 421 cub and loved 'em. 2 questions. 1. DO you plan on running it on gas or alky? 2. Do you dune more than drag, or drag more than dune?
-
Side note, to make sure you get a good even torque, I torque them down in sequence to 10, then 15, then 20... 20 to 22 is spec.

Settle down Jr....I know you're excited because school just got out, but go eat what mom and dad put on your plate. Eat supper, take your nappie poo...and relax. There are no mods on this board, only the site admin, Lee. Just because you can say what you want here doesn't mean you have to be a dipshit ya know.... :: Quick...Spongebob is on, hate for you to miss that!!

I understand.... Thanks...
-
Mike, I"m going to keep my eyes on these. Do you have boots for bigger carbs available, say....39's??
-
That's retarded cheap, Mike. Wish I had a spare frame and motor laying around, that's be a fun duner!!!! Someone's gonna get a steal on that!

dajogejr replied to dajogejr's topic in Product Reviews
Yeah, I hear ya. eating shit at 70 or 80 MPH on a run doesn't sound like a real healthy diet to me... I'll check with my metric specialty store, let you know what I find out... -

WOW...thanks boys. I have a Metric specialty store close to work, maybe I'll swing by there. I just didn't want to use the same old, stock dingy bolts on a nice PCd frame and Chrome Jarms, Chrome aero metal tech swinger....
