  1. It's gonna be tough to get great low end and mid and at the same time have a top end. One end of the spectrum will be short changed. I'd get an MX port.....that should give you what you want, unless you want more up top at the sacrifice of some down low....then get a dune port. If you go for more mid and upper, you can get back some of the lost bottom end with timing and compression...however, you didn't say if you wanted to or minded running race fuel. With more compression and timing, you'll need race fuel....normally. Also, if you're gonna have it down to the tranny, have your porter weld the stock crank too, for reliability... cheap, and well worth every cent once you start putting more power out of that motor!!!
  2. Keep an eye on this one. My old frame, clean...clear with 96 title. Sold a lot of parts to minkia38, basically sold him a roller not put together. My old red swinger in his auctions too...keep an eye out on this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-Banshe...sspagenameZWDVW

    4mill cub

PM Jankab....he might. Cylinder only, or complete motor?
  4. Well...put it in perspective this way. On my 4 mil cub, with twin 35's, I had 48 pilots and 150 mains. That same motor with a single would need 55 or larger pilots, and 180 to 200 main. One carb feeding two cylinders is a big difference in jets. I'd honestly just throw a 55 pilot in there for shit and giggles, also clean the bejezus out of that carb, just to be sure.... It sounds electrical....but, you've already covered that by having it run and start fine with dual carbs....stumped here too!!!
  5. I've heard plenty of 4 poke OWNERS scream...does that count? LOL....
  6. TTT...c'mon...tax time. Someone wants a nice looking, good strong running duner....
  7. Do you think it's possible the two into one is giving you an air leak? made worse once it warms up? Just a thought.....
  8. I've done quite a few T5 banshees, and their jetting is similar to a T6. Put 340s in and try that. The Toomey kit I got had mains and needles only, no pilots. Without an airbox, 27.5 will be just fine. However, I know you can turn the air screws in almost all the way to work in a pinch (.5 turns out) but...really should have 27.5 in there. 340 to 330 is probably where you'll end up. I got in an argument with some guy on another site...does your jet kit say to use the 280 main below 2500 feet, WITH the airbox REMOVED, using the 1 into 2 foam filter? Mine did...he said BS. Told him 280s were lean on a no airbox motor, he said the directions said 280 in use w/ the airbox and vents.
  9. Yes, get a new flywheel. My cub motor had a bad flywheel...it started, but when it got to about 5K or so...it burbled and died out. Your magnets could be busted up so bad inside it won't even spark.... If you know something is bad like that, replace it!!
  10. I ran solid chrome hangers with my Shearers (left side shimmed out, of course) no issues ALL last year.
  11. Check your squish and compression...that can detonate a motor real quick. Need to make sure your running enough octane, too...and a quality oil. Odd to put holes in both pistons, normally one goes before the other... Leak down check, etc... Your jetting doesn't seem that far off, but, I think it'd be wise to go much richer on the mains, as well...360ish or so. What kind of oil were you using and at what mixture??
  12. Paid quick, very responsive and nice as could be... I wish my parts were the only ones he had to wait on so he could be riding right now... Sorry bout your luck, Brent!!! Thanks for a quick and easy transaction, just the way it should be around here!!!
  13. WOW...I live in St. Clair Shores...but worked in troy for a long time. 15 and Livernois then 16 and Coolidge...I know exactly where you are. (Shit, I even played baseball with Clawson's pride and joy, Jon Jansen years ago..., now a lineman for the redskins...LOL ) Some friends went up two nights ago to the UP...one of them is good for wrecking sleds...and he's been looking at something newer. His 97 VMax 700 can't take much more abuse... I'll pass this along to him when he gets back... Free bump till then.
  14. Where in SE MI you located at?
  15. it's great... It's because of posts like this this jerk weed doesn't deserve to sell stuff here. It really doesn't matter if you have nice stuff...etc. If you act like this on a public forum when trying to sell things, good luck.... Let him peddle his stuff on Planet Sand, we don't need his cry baby ways and bs non-answers on here. If he just wants a bunch of offers....there's always ebay.
  16. Yep...I think you should skip buying those carbs, and just get this bike, dave....LOL... TTT
  17. File a paypal claim....if you sent it that way... Yeah, it's really too bad dickbags like this screw things up for honest folks. Greg (bansh-eman) and I talked about this kinda shit on the phone last night...just really bugs the piss out of me.... Good luck, Jesse....
  18. Electrical problem sounds like....
  19. OK...then what did he say once he measured it up?
  20. I'm thinking if you already almost killed yourself on it twice, you're not ready for a cub...LOL. They look like PJs.... There are numbers on the carbs, just above where the float bowl bolts on....write those down, post 'em here. That's funny...Mike, we posted the same thing, same time...
  21. Standard....left loosy, righty tighty.... Hit it with an impact gun, it'll come right off. You did bend back the flanged washer to keep it from spinning off, right??
  22. Your left piston looks like this and all you need is a hone?? I'd like to see that cylinder closely. I'd get it mic'd at a machine shop...I'm thinking a freshen up bore and matched pistons would be better...
  23. I'm posting this for a friend...who is computer silly.... 24. Riding and working on them since 7, I'm 30. My family didn't have a lot of money growing up, but I always had a roof over my head and food (way too much food) on my plate, I'm thankful for all I've got...then and now. Didn't have money to hit the dealership anytime something went wrong...so, father and son working on stuff in the garage on the weekends. We always bought older, used bikes/quads too, so...maintenance and fixing them was always part of the game and it was understood.
  25. I'd call and bitch, and tell them you're an employee...they might budge and warranty it for you. 2 months out of warranty is pure BS....sorry to hear.
