Sorry to carry on your thread, Mikey...but, thought I'd give everyone an update on my situation. I sent them my stator on the plate last week via Fed Ex, they had it in their hands Friday. I called yesterday, and he said a warrantied stator is back on it's way to you, left Wednesday, should have it in MI by Tuesday. week or so turn around time is not bad...I hope this stator is trouble free. However, you can bet your arse I'll be bringing up at least one spare with me to the dunes...

Their cranks are fine... 875 for a 10 mil? Geez...way too much money!! Buy a used one in good shape for less than half that, spend 40 to 80 bucks in new bearings and have it rebuilt and welded...you'll still save cash...
-
Jer...see if you can sell the cases and cylinder to someone else...sorry bro. My bud and I got ourselves in a mishap. If you can't find anyone by Friday, I'll still take 'em... Sorry man...got a trip coming up and a few things came up we didn't account for (two guys backed out on us...) I'll try to call you later to discuss...I don't want to leave you high and dry...

They are either M6 or M8 and 1.50 or 1.75 pitch. The only bolts I've found so far that are 1.25 are the footpeg bolts...(and I've had to tap a lot a holes on my frame and motor lately due to my powdercoating...) Just do what everyone else does...find bolts off something else, take it to the hardware store and match it up...LOL.

Buy the K&N oil....foam filter oil is like glue...

340 or 350 mains. I ran t5s and pod filters or the Toomey 1 into 2 air filter with outerwear...NO Porting, stock head and +4 timing, and was at a 340 main, 27.5 pilot, toomey/dynojet needles on the 4th clip from the blunt end. 1.0 to 1.75 turns out on the air screws. Your porting may like more or less fuel, but I think 340 to 350 is pretty safe starting point.

I've been looking...40 to 50 seem the norm... Hey...thanks anyways for the offer, I really appreciate you trying to help out...that's what it's all about!!

I used Jeff's clutch in 05 on my stock motor, piped and pod filtered banshee, 3 HD springs and 3 stockers. Probably had 40 or so HP. I had it on my gas 4 mil cub last year, all 6HD springs with no lockup, probably had 95HP or so. I'm still using the same clutch with my 120HP or so 10 mil cub motor.... YOu simply can't kill his clutch...it rocks. Worth every penny...as is his customer service over the phone. (Although, he's been lacking in the good joke department lately...LOL )

Toomey and Dynojet is the same needle. Vito's makes one too...but it's red. Both Toomey's and Vitos have the same or similar profile, and they both have 6 notches... The Toomeys even come with a washer for finer tuning, but I never used one of these washer...there's such a slight difference between notches on a needle, I can't see that level of fine tuning needed...

Are you planning on visiting Michigan?? :yelrotflmao:

Not to sound like a total smart ass, but whoever you ordered the kit from should've supplied you with instructions. I've personally used the Vitos kit and the Motion pro kit, and they both come with instructions. Do a search for TORS removal....I'm 100% certain there are dozens of threads on it... Chase@miamiatv even has pictures on what to unplug...

Damn it...just had a few beers with him last night, should've brought my camera... Yeah, I'll get pics...give me a few!!

I talked to him last night, JT...he doesn't want a bike that old... Sorry bud. But, his RM is for sale and sitting in the garage, if you could get your play bike sold. I think he wants 1800 to 2200 for it....

Use it or lose it buddy...no Viagra...yet...LOL... (My ex girlfriend's grandpa...like 85 years old...used to always walk around with his zipper down. Yeah, alheimerz was setting in. He'd always say...what can't get up, can't get out.... For some reason it's funnier when an old timer says shit like that...) Sorry firehead have taken another topic way OFF topic...once again....

Yeah...the retaining clip, got it. Is this the stock lock nut assembly? I have that on there, I want an aftermarket one with pinch or set screws in it. I've been told by quite a few, even if you loctite it, the stocker will loosen back up after time... I still have the stock threaded collar, inner and outer nut on there...I"m looking for an aftermarket one. If yours is aftermarket, I'll take it.... Otherwise, thanks so much anyways!!!
-
What little circlip? Can you explain? I have the clip that goes around the axle...if that's what you mean? Elaborate...please...10 bucks for my play bike is right up my alley...LOL. Do you need anything for your shee? I've got a part or two laying around, we could swap... let me know...and thanks much!!!

Buddy of mine has an RM250, 1997....wants to get rid of it to get a quad for his son. What's all done to the play bike again, JT?? My buddy bought it for a steal off a kid that got shipped to Iraq, just bought it to turn and make a dime. Cleaned it all up, fresh graphics kit...needs nothing but to ride it. I can get pics if you'd like, too....

I made that mistake myself. (in a long, drawn out bitchfest of a post a while back, I might add...) Your jetting richens up at higher elevations, it leans out at lower elevations.... Think about it. If you go to Denver (mile high city) you are out of breath easier...the air is not as dense. With less air...you'd get more fuel in the mixture (richening it up)...

I don't buy the light flywheel/heavy rider. On my bone stock motor (96) I had pods, T5s, boysen reeds and +4 timing. The lightened flywheel made a big difference on how mine ran. It was better in trails, easier to keep on the pipe...and it drag raced on dirt and in sand just fine. I've also read it takes away from holeshot inertia. While this might be true on a big single cylinder or a 4 stroke single, I weigh 250....it worked awesome on my bike... I'd recommend it to anyone... Also...if he's gonna MX....all that power does nothing without tire/gearing and suspension updates...
-
Better yet...it's what she's used to getting.... As long as that's in check...it really doesn't matter.... LOL...
-
Uh oh...looking to go out now, huh? Took me a little while to come to grips with it...I'm glad I went out of frame, though.... Will keep an eye out for you. I'm actually thinking about 2 out 1 side next year, I like the way the look!!!
-
21 or 20.5?? OH...I get it, round "up".... LOL....
-
I would replace the stock pipes first and foremost. Out of all the bolt on mods, you will get the single biggest performance increase from pipes alone. Next...since you said MX...or a track, you'll need better tires. Factory tires don't hook up for squat on a stocker, they sure don't hook up on a modded bike.

I need a locknut for the axle on my 400EX. I replaced the stock axle...and of course no matter how much reefing I do with a BFW, it'll come loose. Anybody got any used Honda axle lock nuts laying around they want to part with. I know I can buy a brand new one for 25 bucks and shipping...just thought I'd score a used/cheap one for my dune/play/trail bike... Thanks...

Well...what have you done since? I understand not being able to go for a rip due to neighbors...believe me. But...you gotta get out and ride it somewhere, some way to figure this out!!
