that is who gave him the 500 dollar tag.... Ray... Try Bob @ RB Racing outside of Lansing...he's very good and cheap too... PM here, his name is machwon. Remember, you get what you pay for....and 500 bucks for a complete tear down of the top and bottom end, inspect the crank, trans...etc., fresh top end including pistons.... If you could find it cheaper than 500....I'd be suspect of their workmanship....that's a helluva price...

installed timing advance-now wont start!

Buy a new flywheel...you trashed the old one and you already know it. Then check your wires, set the air gap between .015 and .018...and be done with it. -
He sold a swinger to another guy on everything2stroke.com and that guy was happy for it. Honestly, for 160 bucks...shipped, you're not going to get a LSR or other equivalent in quality. But...money is money...and this guy needs to man up and offer an explanation. We all have personal problems...and if you've tried to contact him, etc., sent money and no reply...something's not right...

How to adjust idle on TORS Eliminator Kit
dajogejr replied to KaosBanshee44's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
No biggie...I've done it too. I ordered the Motion Pro kit from Magic...and it was missing the idle screws...I believe. Just caps, cable, drill and tap. -

That aluminum is so soft, a coarse scotchbrite pad on a die grinder will remove all you need to. -
I"m not sure about the other parts, I ONLY bought a stator from them....but you can check/call them from their website...

How to adjust idle on TORS Eliminator Kit
dajogejr replied to KaosBanshee44's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Warm the bike up...and the most important thing is making sure the carbs are in synchronization, both at idle and on the throttle. You can eyeball them, or buy a synchronizing tool that is the shit. Two things, did you disconnect ALL the wires from the old TORS? Including the parking break? And...did you grind the carb bosses flat so the idle screw goes in far enough to lift the slide for idle? Here's the ticket: http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=59 -
I got my RS Stator back in the mail yesterday...Rippen. Put it on..and whaddya know...spark. Shit, my pickup gap was at like .045 (I just loosened the pickup and forgot to set gap, and it still sparked...LOL) So...I will be bringing me a spare to Memorial Weekend... I did have to shave some of the plastic off the pickup to get the correct gap, it was hitting the flywheel magnets...

You got a one year warranty on Ricky Stator Stators... I just got mine warrantied, no questions asked. Sent it to them with the line item detail from my online banking account..(My receipt is in a box at home, buried.) I sent it to him on a Wednesday, he got it Friday...he shipped a new one on a Wednesday (last week) and it was at my door yesterday...installed and working fine. I was disappointed I didn't get an email or phone call... I called him last Thursday...he looked it up, said it was warrantied, shipped the day prior, and I'd have it Tuesday. I can't bitch about that.... Not sure how much this helps, but I thought my personal (and very, very recent) experience might give you a little insight.

Fair enough...but I personally think a PM would've been a bit better...don't you? I'm sure you didn't mean it that way...but, other (self included) might have. 2bz is just a raving ass clown that loves to cause drama and talk out his ass about everything... I think if this guy was looking for opinions on it's price...he would've either asked the question (what is this worth) or created a poll of type...but, since this guy posted a specific price, OBO...and listed mods, maybe he needs to get that out of it to make it worth his while. Maybe it's worth more in his part of the country than others. Maybe he's in a financial bind and needs some help...who knows.... So...lets bury the hatchet. I understand your point, I think you see mine...and I'm happy leaving it at that if you are. -

No one said you weren't entitled to your opinion...does that give you the right to bash this guy in a public forum based on your opinion? It goes a little further than that...it's called respect. Let him list it for whatever he feels is right...what is the worst thing that could happen? He doesn't sell it...or someone buys it without doing any research and then they feel they paid too much?? I never said I'm better than either of you (clearly I have better grammar and spelling abilities than 2bztospellcheck, but that's another issue for the million dollar a year, youngest train conductor ever...) How would you like it if someone shit all over your for sale thread..in a public forum? Wouldn't you rather someone PM you, etc., then look like a jerk. It's just about respect...and crapping on someone's thread in a for sale is just shitty, any way you slice it. The same could be said to both of you two...if you don't like his thread, or you don't like his price...then don't read it or post. -
They are only a pain because not many know how to tune them. They are actually easier to jet, and are not as temperature and altitude sensitive as other carbs are... You tune it in by a metering rod which can be be twisted. Once you find the correct metering rod, it's a simple turn here or there. I've been thinking of getting some for my alky bike, but...I like to run a fuel pump.

If that wasn't a perfect setup for a George W. joke, I don't know what is. However, I am a die hard republican and support our president...so, don't think I'm a demo or anything, I just thought that was funny...

Dammit...Mark. I told you I'm not retarded, just a little slow....stop making fun of me... :yelrotflmao:

buying a quad, important of a welded crank.
dajogejr replied to midospike's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I've seen stock bikes separate the factory crank... Obviously a built bike will do it faster, but don't think you're gonna be safe forever just because you keep it stock... But, it shouldn't be the deciding factor in a purchase. -
I've got mixed feelings on this. My Ricky stator ...uh...stator was fantastic all last year (stock Watts, I don't use lights), first time out on my new 10mil, it went sour. RS warrantied it...I'll have it back tomorrow. So...read a lot about their failures, Mikey had a shit ton of problems with his. My bro that builds a lot of motors SWEARS by the stock stators....at a used price. new they are OUTRAGEOUS... I think you should redo your ground...maybe even make an extra ground where the old TORS brain mounted. That's where mine was grounded last year. Make sure you scrape paint, get a good ground. I'd retrace ALL of the wiring harness, check your plugs for loose wires or burnt ends... Two bad stators in a row? Could happen... Look at a wiring diagram, see where the shorted side leads to on each pair of wires... Best of luck buddy. Electrical problems are the worst I tell ya...
-
yeah, I've done a boat load of TORS removals for buddies....I've learned alright. They buy the beer, and drive to the store for more...LOL.
-
Josh...did you put the solder in parallel to the wrist pins? If you squish it front to back you'll get an inaccurate reading due to piston rocking.
-
I'd hate to see a 6 day old coil bad already...but, shit happens...

2bztospellcheck, Your memory is about as good as your spelling and grammar....this quote above is why I called you a baller... Yeah, you make more than me...sure buddy...nice try... You're a baggage handler at best, probably that guy that walks around with an oil can greasing the axles... So...you make 75K, you have for the last 5 years...since you were 22? RIGHT....sounds like a helluva future...no raise in 5 years...you must be their pride and joy. Face it...you got a raise and you know it...minimum wage just went up in the last year or so... I'm sure once you've mastered the fryer, they'll move you up to chopping lettuce...then it's grill work, and assistant manager. That's when the big bucks roll in for ya. If you're 27...you're one of the most ignorant, immature and plain out stupid fucktards I've ever seen. But...since we all know you're really like 14 or 15 at best, we'll forgive you. Remember...you're used to getting the last words in...so keep piping up. Which is it: Would you like fries with that? Or... Does that complete your order today? -

So you work at 3 different Walmart as a greeter? Hey...you've got ambition, I'll give you that. (Ambition is a big word for outgoing...I'll save you the search time) Check your pay stub, those are probably pesos...son. Since you were 22? I didn't think you were half that old now...sure don't act like it. Take some of that money, big baller, and buy a school book and work on that grammar and spelling a bit. Maybe you'll get a 25,000 peso raise a year....I'll even send you a big box of crayons and some number 2 pencils to help you out. You're on your own for the coloring book, though. You could probably snag one from a kid's happy meal while you're working the drive through, no one will notice... I'm a network administrator/network infrastructure engineer for a restaurant company. I get paid to be on the computer all day, every day... I'm thinking of changing professions, though...I might buy dictionary.com, learntospelldarnell.com and grammar.com. If I got you to sign up with a paid subscription, I could retire much sooner from all the help you'll need. But I want to be paid in dollars, American dollars...not pesos, and don't palm off any Mickey D's coupon books on me either.... -
Hi Wes...welcome to the HQ. As said, both have their own sets of pros and cons. Box stock...I would take a new 700R over a banshee. It does more better than the banshee does. It handles better, easier to ride...etc. However, if you're gonna ride sand and wide open areas...and plan on modifying the bikes...the banshee really shines once you start to open up the motor (exhast, porting, carbs, etc.). I'd say bolt on mod vs. bolt on mod...the 700R will be a quicker bike. But once you go beyond that, banshee hands down. A 4 poke might not need major service as often as a banshee or other two stroke does...but, when it does it costs more money. So...a little money more often or more money less often. They're both good bikes...it really depends on what you want to accomplish with it.

Holy Shit... I can't believe I skimmed over point #2... Yea, please use the same size pistons on both cylinders. I know .010 doesn't seem like much...but take into consideration how fast that motor spins. As Mr. Miagi said... "Balance, Daniel-san"

I disagree. Your spelling and grammar leaves a little to be desired...throw in a period and/or a capital letter once in a while. Wait...I get it, you haven't gotten that far in school yet...wait till you get to the 3rd or 4th book of hooked on phonics...you'll be ok, there there. You have a cock phobia...maybe one just left you, maybe you're waiting on another one...I'm not sure. But...you definitely have a thing for fags and cocks... Firehead and I both go off in other threads, other topics...in OTHER FORUMS. We don't muddy up someone's for sale ad..period. I don't know what I'm talking about? Please....I don't know it all, never claimed to...but I just took a shit that knew more about this kinda thing than you do. C'mon...show the same respect for this guy as you would your boyfriend's member....grow up son.
