  1. I went the other way... I installed it...and called them how to set the timing. He was very nice on the phone, and said use the split mark...then he said, didn't instructions come in the box. And...yeah, as I looked over....there they were. Simple, perfect instructions.... I was thinking of taking off my plate, polishing it...so I could feel like I bought more than I needed....
  2. That's actually better than buying it from his website....1.00 shipping....not bad.
  3. You can always throw a head on later, for the cost of parts, plus antifreeze/coolant. Stocker will be fine...
  4. One of three things. 1. Wrong size pilot 2. Air screw needs adjustment 3. Idle screws need adjustment
  5. Guy in for sale parting a motor out, who has 28mm Keihins...might want to hit him up, great carbs. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=80537
  6. If your clutch is still in pretty good working order, get 3HD springs, 3 stockers and alternate them. You'll be fine. As said, you either run a 2 mil spacer plate under the cylinders, or cut the head to run the pistons up into them. Also...if you get a long rod crank, (115mm rods vs. 110mm stock rods) you'll need 795 series pistons. They are pistons made by wiseco for those that run OEM cylinders with a long rod crank, the wrist pin is moved up towards the crown of the piston... It's wise to get a long rod crank if you're going to get a stroker, it's more reliable....it puts less stress on the piston/cylinder by lessening the angle of the rod from one end of the stroke to the other.
  7. 350... There are three threads at the top of this forum. Each of which will answer 98% of your questions...explaining the different circuits of the carb, what effects what....
  8. Keep your stock ignition.... Unless you have a bad CDI, then I'd get a used OEM replacement, or the Dyna... Either one of them can give you more horsepower by increasing the timing....you can do the same thing with a 35 dollar timing plate. Unless you're running a drag bike and have access to a laptop and dyno to manually adjust your own curves....it's wasted money for you. However, if you run Nitrous, looking for an ignition interrupt...etc., then the dyna is a good choice. The dyna is a fully programmable ignition....the procom is JUNK...a CDI alone will not raise your "redline". There is NO redline on a two stroke, pipes, porting and intakes decide how far your motor can rev...not an ignition.... DUDE...you posted the question at midnight, and expected immediate answers within an hour? C'mon....
  9. Thanks for being so understanding Steve....that's a great price on a mint stock crank. Eyes were just bigger than my checkbook.... For those of you that don't know, Steve worked with me earlier this year to buy my 4 mil cub. It was such a pleasure to work with him, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again...(after checking finances, next time...LOL) Thanks for understanding, Steve....you know what I got coming, so...priorities man...
  10. Maybe your bong got stuck in the intake or muffler somehow... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: Good idea to take the carbs apart and clean them thoroughly....probably dirt/crap in them. What do the plugs look like?? One clean and dry, the other wet and dark?
  11. I think once you get rid of those pink grips...the price would go up... LOL... :yelrotflmao: Just kidding with ya man...good luck on the sale, free bump for a fellow MI guy...
  12. Have a FAST racing (Whitaker) 1-5 Nuetral down dunable in mine... Haven't made a whole bunch of passes on my 10 mil cub yet, but...it's been holding up so far so good. Dave Moore isn't doing them anymore? Hmm...wonder why...
  13. Generally...when the VF3 go bad, they chip and break off a bit. they normally have a small gap, too....and of course they can go bad!!
  14. Check all the TORS connections, even if they're removed on the carbs. Most importantly...make sure the two wires going to the parking brake/clutch lever are disconnected. Then, check the stator and coil caps with an Ohm meter....
  15. I will lease my jockey to you Roger, for a good price.... :yelrotflmao: I'd love to slap my 10 mil in that rigid too....that thing doesn't way much at all!!! I'm game for Bob's anytime. I just couldn't do the 9AM a few weeks ago on 3 hours of sleep....and a head that leaked when I first put it on.... I wish albright shores T&T was later on Friday or Saturday early..... I just can't see fighting holiday weekend traffic on 75 to get some T&T runs in.... I'm waiting for someone to rent Bob's again....don't know how much longer I can wait!! Dan... minkia38 has like a gazillion frames. He sells 'em cheap. You can probably get a J arm frame (no title) for 100 or 150 bucks.... That's the place to start. JT...you gonna pick up a drag axle soon or what? I know you're dying to.... Wait till you hear how quiet that bike is with those pipes on, you're gonna shit yourself...
  16. A cover for your bike? Ok...yeah, you're way more anal than me... You might have had a stroke if you would've seen all the sawdust on my bike a few months ago when I was redoing the room right next to my garage....
  17. Dan...honestly, your little ass on a properly setup chassis and a 4 mil cub on alky, would be a handful for JT and me....without a doubt. You also have the luxury of learning from both our mistakes as well. I'd love to help you set up a 4 mil cub on alky.... I'd bet you could 3.9 a 4 mil on alky if you got a really light bike and good setup....probably even faster.. My personal goal has been a 4.0 of any kind on my bike, with my big ass on it. If I hit 3.999 I'd be estatic.... I bet you could do that no problem if we could get mine to hook up....
  18. He had something to finish up...but wasn't looking forward to baking in his garage. Now that it rained and temps dropped, BIG TIME....I think he's gonna be done. I know he said you guys were coming by tonight.... He was iffy on those pipes, I mentioned it to him. I can have my pipes off in 10 minutes if you want 'em...let me know....just gonna have to get some rubber grommets or isolators to mount 'em....
  19. I told Dan he wasn't allowed any mexican or Indian food for a week....and he couldn't shit till after the race...gotta pack a few more lbs on his.... LOL... Yeah, 1400 PSI marvin, 14 arm....even with new paddles I think they're gonna spin on ya, Dan... I did get new paddles. Got them from a guy in MI, 14 paddle extremes, that still have tits on the blades. 25 PSI out in the sun for a few days to stretch 'em out, too!!! Should be about 74 RO or so. They're gonna hook, Dan....just not real good with you on it. I'm gonna see how it rolls. If it's real, real bad...I'll go shorter and a wheelie bar.... Didn't build a bigger motor and lighten a chassis to see it just fry tires.... I would've kept my 4 mil and left knobbies on if that was the case... LOL...
  20. Da Vinci, Picasso, Van Gogh....they ain't got shit on you....LOL....  At least you drew circles....my pic would be more like a sqaure with rounded corners...LOL...
  21. You ain't lyin....I bet Dan spins those tires past half track....LOL.... Had lunch with Evan today...he said Brent's crank was totally poo poo'd. Good think he caught it before it got a lot worse....eek....
  22. Uh oh...JT... Now that Bob has given up...it's time to let our jockeys duke it out....LOL.... JOCKEY FIGHT!!!!! At this point, I'll take a few whippings, I just want to get 5 or 6 passes in a row down without blowing an oring or backing out plugs....then I'll worry about tuning, launching and the rest of that stuff.... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
  23. Yeah, I got a spot or two on the frame already... Left side pipe hit the frame a little...but, you can't see it unless the pipe is off the bike. Powerjets do the same thing...bascially on alky....little twist, more fuel. However, one day I'll try Lectrons. Just not yet.... If you get a quick disconnect, purging is a breeze. You just have to have 5 to 10 minutes of spare time...at the track or home, to let the gas run through it... Then drain the alky in the tank to a sealed can. I'm lucky enough to have my good buddy, who's helped me with almost 100% of my build, be very savvy in alky or I probably would've waited myself.... It's cool to see the sweat/condensation and sometimes frost on the intakes because of how cold alky runs....
  24. Don't have to purge after every race.... I finally purged mine, had alky sitting in it since April. Believe it or not, carbs weren't that bad... However, since you're running a bottle, I'd stay with gas too. Actually...I'd buy a set of snomobile 39PWKs, run a fuel pump...and try it. I can get you a pretty good deal on carbs and a pump to run alky if you ever choose, Travis...but I agree, you will see more gain from NOS and gas than alky alone. NOS is more finicky to me than alky, though.... (since you have that dyna, you could always program an alky curve and a NOS/Gas curve...lol) Glad I made the switch to alky...but I have no NOS plans yet, just bigger motor plans...later on.
  25. Yeah Yeah....I think my alky build curve is doing just a hair better than your 4 mil, I'm still on the original Nikasil....(so far anyways....LOL)...third time should be a charm!! You better tell that jockey of yours to start drinking vodka or light beer...Dan is gonna jockey mine...LOL... For all that money you spent on that 4, you could be on top a 10..he he... J/K.. Yeah, no dog sitter for me, parents are going out of town and can't watch my house/dogs...so, I'm kinda stuck local this weekend. Considering I got my motor fixed ( I think) and brand new paddles under it....I'm itching even more than I was before the season started....
