Shane...how dare you sabotage my jockey....LOL.. I think we need a viking helmet or something....
-
Helluva good idea...sort of like a little brown jug or something!!
-
Honestly, the way your plugs looked, I wouldn't touch it. However, I'm gonna lean mine a bit. From the PS thread...I think I'm getting way too much fuel, and it's not letting the motor get hot enough to even color the plug. I got enough jet in it...and the DM Superjets flow...I'm gonna turn them in a bit. Bought a fresh box of plugs to get r done!!!

That's right...it's all good. JT...I'm on my third weekend of tuning, you gotta admit...you got a TON more tuning and seat time on your ride. Not to mention...I think I'm WAY ahead of the blow up vs. ride time factor you went through last year... I only expect to be 2 to 3 tenths faster than a 4 mil...on a good day. And on the track...that's nothing... Like Ricky Bobby said...if you're not first, you're last.... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: (sorry, it's been on HBO a gazillion times the last few days....)

Yep...I agree 100%. However, it all depends on the dyno AND the guy running it.... 60HP can be very, very easily attainable on a banshee and be reliable all day long. Bolt on a stock stroke, 65mm bore Cheetah or cub cylinder. Even with trail pipes and stock carbs they'll EASILY make over 60HP...probably closer to 75ish.

Let's hope he doesn't eat orings and nikasil like you did...coach....LOL... Hell JT...this is getting good. I don't know if we have to take our bikes off the trailer, think of all the money we'll save watching these two go at it. I'm bringing a Team Lightweight Jockey sign....you get Team DuraJunk Sign.... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: Better yet: Team Cocky Jockey vs. Team Boom Boom.... Man, I kill me sometimes...LOL.

Awesome...see ya there.

Yes...to add to what Dan said.. You won't be flying blind. Depending on how many people show, you could probably get 10 or more practice runs during test and tune. Then you get two qualifying runs, one in each lane. Then you set your dial in time by writing it on your plate. You ideally want to run as close to that time as possible without going faster.... Consistency wins a bracket race, not speed.
-
Good luck getting any info out of those two, it's like the CIA over in their camp.... Yeah, I was gonna say...bring your bike, trust me...the faster you are, the harder it is to bracket race and be consistent. You could win some money and not even break a sweat.... It's all about the fun and BSing at the track. I'll never have the fastest at the track...but I have fun every time out!

It all depends on how good your port job is... If it's a good port job, it should pull 16/40. It'll rocket out with first, but you might have to feather the clutch a hair launching in second. Keep in mind, banshees like to spin and wind up quick....with the traction you're going to get...it won't be spinning very much... But it should pull the gearing.

Hey guys... Am I the only one...or does the banshee hq header load real, real slow? I love the pics and our riders on there...but it just seems to take a while to paint that. I have two T1s at work and a Cable 6Mb/s Down connection at home...speed is not my problem....

I just sold my 400. Bought it in February as a backup for my drag bike. I've went to the dunes twice this year, and ended up riding the 400 more than my blown up drag bike... I finally got my shee sorted, and have confidence in it at the strip and dunes. That 400 I had went through hell, I knew the original owner... I'm going to end up with an automatic 4X4 for me and the gal next year...but that 400 sure was a fun wheelie machine. The reality is for me, anyways...I'll either be at the strip or the dunes. I have a bike for that. I won't take the 4X4 to the strip or dunes, and won't take my shee to the trails...so, that's why I sold my 4X4... That, and I got what I had into it...no loss, so..it was a quick and easy sell.

Now that there is funny, I don't care who ya are.... Just remember, Dan...an Override is the equalizer for your weight at this point....
-
Flebay, salvage yards...etc. Brand and size of the carb if you know it Dave, I'll try to look around for you!

Thank you... I was waiting for someone to jump on that one... There are plenty of people out there running HUGE motors with stock ignition.... I have Jeff's clutch. Got it in 05 for my stock motor with bolt ons. Used it all last year with my 4 mil cub on gas. I'm using the same clutch this year with my 10 mil cub on alky.... If I ever wear it out...I'll be getting another one from Jeff... To be honest, unless you have a ported, fire breathing monster, get Jeff's clutch but put 3 HD and 3 stock springs in for a little easier pull, and get an EZ Pull lever while you're at it....

Bobs Family raceway and Albright Shores are racing this weekend. Bob's has Test n Tune from 9AM to 12noon, then a racing session afterwards. It's about 40 bucks for T&T and Racing, and top 3 from the racing program have payouts...which vary based on # of entries. www.bobsfamilyraceway.com Albrightshores had T&T on Friday, it will start between 3 and 4 PM, and go till dark. $20.00. The race is Saturday, but I'm not sure on times and $$... www.albrightshores.com I'll be at T&T @ Albright on Friday, and I'll be at Bob's family raceway all day Saturday if you guys want to join and have some fun....(if the bike holds up all weekend, naturally....) Be nice to see some faces at the tracks. Weather reports keep on looking better as the week goes on, high to mid 80s and partially cloudy... C'mon out and have some fun.

Check the crank and bearings, and have it trued/welded while you're at it. Just because the barrels "Look" perfect...and the pistons do too...doesn't mean they are. Get them measured properly for clearance. Unless your eyes are good enough to measure .004 to .012...

On my buddies 98 I had to tie the two wires going to the parking brake switch together to get spark. On my other buddies 2001 it started fine, but wouldn't rev out at all as well....I disconnected the parking brake/clutch wires and it was fine.... TORS can be fouled up and still let the bike run...but if you've disconnected everything as you say...that's not it.

I got mine from magicmike, and am very pleased with them. not sure where he gets them from or who makes 'em...I can tell you they have built in crossover into them...and are very clean/nice looking intakes!!

It's in Clarksville, MI. It's about 1/2 hour East of Grand Rapids. And yes...there is a race saturday, the 4th. Test and Tune 9 to 12 noon, then bracket racing afterwards.. -
Stock stroke big bore cheetah. Save your money....get the stock crank welded, then get a Cheetah 65mm bore... That'll have all the power you need to ride fast trails...and even better with a power valve for tighter spots. remember, you start getting into those bigger motors...you're sucking a TON of gas...not what I'd want if I rode fast trails all day...

I think it was time for some change, Lee. Lately, in the past few months...the site has been God awful slow..resulting in a lot of double posting (hitting new reply or new thread more than once while waiting) and a lot of timeouts. If this change is going to make the board move better...I'm all for it. I was more bored at work than usual...however...

I know....I feel like Will Ferrel in that soccer movie...LOL.
