  1. It's all good Dr. Phil. I got my days I gotta vent too.... And I appreciate you being that friend with the outside view and trying to help....really, I do.
  2. Bro....that is great. Flat out....I love it.... Good work!
  3. I have a 10 mil cub, cleaned up by me...with 41.3 packard lectrons on alky. (40mm bored by Packard to 41.3) I had issues beginning of last year due to incorrect domes. Sorted. I smoked one piston because I got WAY too greedy on the powerjet. Sorted. Last year and this year...strip, dunes, ice, 300 to 660 foot, etc...it just keeps on running. Don't get greedy on the fuel, read your plugs...listen to the motor. My bike is nothing special....it just runs. Nothing exotic, nothing custom or one off, just off the parts shelf bike. It has hundreds of runs on it. I'd say the only custom thing I have on the bike are domes cut for alky by Patriot Racing...everything else is bolt on. I'm 250lbs....and I put quite a load on the motor, too...lol. Setup, Setup, Setup..... I would be happy to PM you every spec of my motor, spark plug to drain plug...it is really nothing special. 10 mil cub is just good clean power and a price hard to beat. DMs run very strong, but they take more work and more money to setup...to be honest. I agree...quality parts. But you don't have to over do it, either...I run 300ft sand MOST of the time. A few passes on the ice (660 foot) and some at the dunes (300 to 500 foot)
  4. Damn....my girl must have been bragging me up again... LOL
  5. I think it also depends on if he uses aluminum or not, one piece or two, the design, etc. I thought he said mine is normally 125 to 150 bucks, but I could be mistaken. Mine is thick, mirrored stainless steel....
  6. I agree...let's let this one die....so I can be a fag on the shoutbox in a few hours....LOL.
  7. Waiting for his parents to go to bed....to call me a fag at 1:30 AM.... ROFL... Maybe he's grounded.
  8. I can get just about anything....sometimes I can get you a smoking deal, sometimes I can't. And if I can't...I'll normally tell you where the best deal is. But that's not customer service....it's just me working for free.... I don't make a killing or a fortune, just supplement my income a little, while trying to give people a fair price and good service. Like I said, can't make everyone happy....but those that have done business with me will continue to do biz with me because I've treated them fair.... I sell parts and services for a friend and don't make a dime on what he does. Not a dime....but he's been a good friend and helped me when I needed it..so that's me returning the favor...
  9. It's a good thing you don't build your own engines...because you'd end up exchanging things 100 times because nothing in this sport/game is bolt on and go... You think the majority of builders have a large variety of machines/tools to make these builds because they like spending thousands and thousands of dollars on stuff that bolts together?? Try putting your own motor together, and you'll be begging for it to be that easy...not to mention chassis with brackets that don't line up 100% perfect, etc. Like another wise man said, if everything was that easy and the same in this sport, Walmart would carry it..... I challenge you to find another shop or builder that will give you a refund or exchange something because you didn't like it...I assure you I'm not the only one. Buy a 10K motor, blow it up...after a few times at the track/dunes...see if they take it back. Your fault or theirs. Guess what...not going to happen... You guys can compare apples to oranges all you like...I don't get how you compare a mass produced product like those sold on the shelves of walmart to custom built equipment and supplies....that were NOT faulty in the first place.... Like I said...those that weren't going to buy things from me before still aren't. And those that do...well...still do.
  10. Again...no. The dealer would fix what is wrong or incorrect. Which was done. What you're asking for is a refund for the whole car because the headlight didn't work or a cigarette lighter was faulty.... A warranty is provided for items that are defective and faulty...neither are the case here. Do you think a yamaha shop would give you a refund on a bike because you fouled a spark plug? Ah no... There is a difference between a happy customer and an unsatisfiable customer.... I promise the loss of you as a BOSS customer will not prohibit from others buying from me or BOSS....in fact, I have more orders than I can get pricing on and keep up with....and I'm expanding... Here's my saying. You can please some people all the time, you please all the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all the time. Here's what you and I are effectively doing. The people that don't like me...weren't going to buy from me anyways. The people that do...are going to buy from me anyways. I'm quite certain you're not changing anyone's mind....the fact that I've gotten about a half dozen PMs in the last few hours confirms that in my mind... I made it right. I was fair. I was as just as I could be. Like I said....this is not a try it before you buy it industry. If the item was faulty, fine. Chamfering valve stems could happen and does happen to any rim, car, trailer, bike, ATV, etc. Out of the 5 people that bought their spindle mounts from me or from Ebay...none of them seem to have the issues you are...and I'm sure if they did, sand paper and 10 minutes would've solved that. You can sit outside the BOSS shop and sing cumbya....in a boycott, but it's not changing anything...
  11. I was then and am now a dealer. I gave it to you at cost to hook you up and do something good... The refund eventually would come from BOSS. But that's to me...not you. Again...it's a business scheme you don't seem to be getting, Greg.. If you bought a Chrysler car....would you drive to the HQ here in MI to get warranty work done? You think someone from MI would come out there to see you? No...you work with the dealer. That's me. And just like Chrysler HQ...they would've done the same thing. Worked with you through the dealer... If the dealer told you to get bent (which...clearly I didn't do) they would've reprimanded that dealer if/as necessary, and probably directed you to another dealer....
  12. There is a reason for that. BOSS is the manufacturer, I am the dealer. He lets his dealers be professionals. SO I made the suggestion, and he agreed... My call to him was to inform him what I planned on doing about it...and see if he had other/better ideas. I didn't lose any money from you...after fees and in order to move them, I sold them for a buck or two cheaper and didn't tack the paypal fees onto the sale. Not your fault, and..it's a couple bucks. I didn't say I lost a buck or two from you, just that I did. And on the wrong tires sent to you... Maybe one day Unicef will get into the aftermarkets parts business...but until then....
  13. Travis... Don't act like you have had your share of rants or disagreements elsewhere yourself...the Doctor ring a bell? PS? This carried over from a long time ago about the whole Jarod/gregob thing about Kansas being a shithole, Jarod saying the FAST bike isn't shit...etc. And they got called out... So...apparently he is still butt hurt about that. I don't know what his deal is...but if he has a problem with me he can either take it up with me or STFU....that's my point. I don't feel belittled at all...but I did come down to his level...and that is my fault. Guilty... To talk to a child, sometimes you have to act like a child I guess....
  14. I think if you're a beginner and are unsure of rough jetting specs...a plug chop itself is a good idea. Once you know you're safe and close, you learn to tune by sound and feel. I always check my plugs....I don't chop...I just look down the porcelain towards the bottom. I've smoked one piston on my current bike, totally my fault from getting greedy on my power jet and methanol...I luckily paid a very easy price. I tune mine by the sound, feel and the heat the plug is making....but I start out by looking at the ring on the bottom of the porcelain...in my world (as in bigboy's too...) it takes time to color a plug, could be too late by then. It also take a little time for the motor to make a little heat as shown on the plug, too...
  15. 39mm carbs are too much for a non-ported motor in my opinion. Stock porting does not flow the volume necessary to make them work well. They will work...but you might be losing some performance by a carb that big. 28 to 33 would be ideal for your setup. What do the plugs look like...by the way.
  16. I have that same one...the lower roller. I run a 45 or 44 tooth rear sprocket, and it binds on the rollers. I removed one of them...and it still bound to the point of the roller locked and acts as a "slider" now.... Here's what I've run in the past, (I currently run the same tensioner like bansh-eman posted but got it from JL Lucky ATV) http://www.magicracing.com/UPP-Chain-Slide...p_748-1058.html Here's that tensioner from Jame Lucky (Scroll down on the left, click chain tensioner)..might be a few bucks cheaper depending on shipping. http://www.jlatvproducts.com/
  17. Hit up NYUK...he was taking a motor apart yesterday to part and sell..
  18. Just take the cylinders off and scrap them...the money you get out of that big old chunk of aluminum could be damn close to what you're asking....LOL. Damn shame our economy sucks so bad right now...that is a nice ass bike. I'd love to look at a twister setup next, just to have something different!!
  19. You told me on the phone you have some 10X2 you wanted to buy....so can't we just refund the tires and rims so no one eats paypal, etc., that way you can buy the 10X2 tires and rims. Also the reason you were selling them...was because you wanted to go to a 10X2 tire because all your buddies setups were so much lighter... Coincidence??? Hmmm.... I said no on the rims, then later yes on the tires....and then all the sudden they had issues. A bead not seated correctly, a valve stem hole not chamfered....a few of the bubbles in the bubble wrap probably popped as well during shipping. If Discount Tire sold you rims and tires, you didn't like the tires but the rims were fine, I can tell you with 100% certainty they'd tell you to choose new tires. And since I spent 10 years in the automotive retail aftermarket business (before my current job) I'm pretty sure I know how those things work. They might have given you partial credit towards the purchase of a new set. Maybe... Bet your ass they wouldn't have offered a full refund. And because I'm a smart and fair businessman, you're right, I didn't eat the tires. I probably lost a buck or two after fees, paypal, etc....but I'm fine with that. Neither one of us are saying anything new....so...why don't we let others decide who they do business with? Sorry to say in retail, the customer is not always right. I've done and said all I can. You've got your new buddies and hook ups now...maybe they can cater to you better than I can. I think the real funny part is smart ass hasn't even posted here...but had no problem running his trap in the shout box a few times....
  20. IF Boss made tires and rims...and they came in a set (both made by him, or skat track for that matter) then yes...you could get refund in a set. So based on that logic... You buy a set of new tires for your car, don't like them. Does that mean Firestone, Goodyear or Michellin should give you money back or refund you for the factory rims too??? A year ago...a month ago... no matter. I would've handled it the same then as I do now....honestly and correctly. In your PM...you specifically said your buddy looked on the inside of the tire and could tell they weren't SLS tires. To me...that's off the rim. Regardless...whether you weren't clear or I misunderstood, they were taken care of. You're avoiding the facts of you paid for something, decided you didn't want it and wanted to go another way (10X2s) for I assume cheaper, and you thought I should eat the rims too... Like I said. Buy something from anybody in THIS sport (not MP3 players) decide you don't like it...see if they give you a refund. Call up Packard, CP Industries, Twister, etc., pay for their product, get it at your house....decide you don't want it, then ask them to refund your money and shipping costs... there's nothing wrong with their product, you just changed your mind. I'm sure those guys need a good laugh.... I'm fair and honest, but I'm not Burger King....so, again, sorry you couldn't have it your way.
  21. Greg... You wanted me to give you a refund on a set of rims that had nothing wrong with them. You had to chamfer the valve stem holes. Fine. When you called BOSS (not me...but BOSS) you never mentioned having to chamfer valve stem holes to him or me. It was after the fact we refused a refund based on nothing wrong with the product you found this out. Of course...after you told me they were never mounted...yet you had them for sale WITH PICTURES mounted...and after you told me you changed your mind and wanted to go with 10X2s, asked me to refund the whole thing via Paypal so no one gets hit with fees, etc. You tried to sell them...couldn't move them. Sorry... You wanted a refund on 10X4 rims because you got them, and changed your mind and wanted 10X2 rims. That's it...nothing more to it than that.... Tires were not right...you were given a refund. What Skat Trak told and sold to BOSS were two different things. I apologized for that...once you proved that by talking to Skat Trak, you were issued a refund. What we sold you was wrong, plain and simple. I refunded your complete price including shipping. Not many people include shipping. Nothing wrong with the rims (nothing you couldn't fix in 10 minutes and very well could have to do on any other rims you buy, aftermarket or otherwise)...so...no refund. The fact you found 10X2 cheaper is not my fault. I actually called 3 other people, laid ALL the facts down....and they said I did the right thing. Sorry...I can't give you perfection....especially giving parts away at my cost and not making a dime...and still being nit picked. And you're damn right I've caught wind of the BS you guys are talking about....if you want to pass false info amongst yourselves, please do so.... But if you're going to post something in a public area, forum, shoutbox, etc....that could very well hurt someone's business and name, you should probably go through due process and make sure it's fact and not hearsay.... Sorry if you're upset with my customer service. I thought I was more than fair, prompt, justified and thorough.... This is not a try it before you buy it sport, money back, operators standing by...call 1 800.... Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry in the least. It's business, not personal. But like anything, there are two sides to every story....I felt the need to say all of mine.
  22. Simple... If anyone has a problem with me (and I'm sure there are plenty....over the years, etc.) man up and say something...instead of taking cheap shots (repeatedly) in the shout box at 1 or 2 AM. Been entirely too many people running their mouth in chat or the shout box lately.... I used to enjoy coming to HQ to learn, make friends and try to help people. All we have now is exactly what I stopped frequenting other sites for....little kids. I've always stuck up for HQ and it's members over the years, between the Planet Sand fights, other people coming here running there mouths, etc. Lately...I've been wondering why....
  23. Got a set off a 98, TORS removed and Idle screw installed by me. Does not have the threaded cable insert in the top of the caps...they're 3 bucks a piece. Sitting in a coffee can in my garage.
  24. Nope...not just you at all. One of the reasons I don't spend as much time on here as I used to.... And in my opinion, it's because it's understaffed, under modded....and the mods don't have the authority they need to help run the site.
  25. As said, Joel....all depends on the porting. Being a MI boy...here you go... I'm sure the big names, Rob @ RDZ and Dan @ A&S are kinda busy.... Give Bob @ RB Porting a call. He's by Lansing (couple hour drive) and his motor work is very affordable, nice guy.... 517-388-3662 If I didn't want to wait a while, wanted a trusted local builder in MI....and wanted a good runner, he's who I'd go with for sure!!! You'll need 28mm carbs to 33's. Some CPI or T5s would be nice...and a good dune port will get you there. Once you start getting much more aggressive...you're going to run into beefing up the clutch, tranny....way longer swingarm...stiffer shock...etc.
