With no airbox, you're going to need a bigger main jet. Start with 350 and work your way down (Keep in mind, winter is coming...and you're going to have to jet up a few sizes if you jet it for 60 to 80 degree weather...) I ran 27.5 pilots on stockers when I had similar mods and similar temps/elevations.

This is exactly what I was thinking, you're paying the piper twice.... Nate does a helluva job, but....I'd rather have his cub than a set of stockers... Did you take into consideration a longer swingarm, shock setup stiffer, longer chain, gearing change AND different paddles/tires? Just trying to help you complete the package...

dajogejr replied to quad killer's topic in Riding and Events Forum
Here are some pics from the rain out date. It rained off and on Friday for test and tune. I have never seen a track crew work like this to try and get the event to happen, in the end, Mother Nature won... If you can make the drive to Ionia, MI...you will not be dissapointed. Here's just a few preview pics of the track, bikes, trucks, buggy's, PARTY....etc. Enjoy!!! http://www.lonestargraphics.info/Ionia_200...12_08/index.htm If you need any help or answers, please feel free to contact me as well via PM or email: [email protected]. Hope to see you there!! DJ -
how much do you make on partout?
dajogejr replied to bansheejoel's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I parted out a complete bike with two sets of plastics, complete motor...but a hole in a piston. I made about 700 bucks or so off it, after the purchase prices, etc. The key is how desirable the parts are... And Ebay is the way to go. Sorry to say...but most of the guys on various forums are tire kickers instead of buyers, so you spend a lot of time answering questions...and people expect you to give shit away. Ebay you don't have as much back and forth. Here it is, here's the selling price...pay it or not. If you have the time and a system for boxing and shipping parts (NYUK and minkia38 do pretty well) then it'll work. IT's a lot of time and effort...I'd ebay the bike. I wouldn't even post it on forums. -
Nothing worth having is free... No...it's a pay for software program.
-
Beat me to posting that.... I've heard and seen more F'd up stories from the clueless guys at dealerships. Obviously, there's a few good ones out there that you don't hear about, but in my experience as well...these guys are clueless. There will be parts for years to come. HOWEVER... Every price an OEM Stator, CDI, etc., from a dealer? You think gas prices are high?? LOL.

What's the best timing plate for the $$$

I've had a RS plate for years. They work. But for 15 bucks more (35 plus shipping for the RS plate, 50 plus shipping via Ebay for the Chariot part) I'll be buying a Chariot plate once I tear down my motor for the winter and freshen it up. After going through 2 stators in 2 years from RS...I will never buy anything from there again....period. I have the Chariot head, and it works as good as it looks... -
Supposedly he is an oil rig worker...and goes out of town for weeks and months at a time. Can't blame a guy for trying to make a living....but if you're going to do business and take people's money, delegate to someone to ship your parts, etc.
-
CPI inframes and Shearers are both better pipes. For duning...CPI are the best, IMO.
-
Cubs don't have low end... You can choke 'em down, etc. to get a LITTLE more...but, they don't....and aren't designed to.
-
Tunbite lets you play the music on your computer, record it digitally and strip the protection off it so you can burn it to a CD, etc...
-
Cubs already come with drag port timings. You can always coax more power out, and yes...I'm going to do just that. My point was you're not going to double the HP like you could a set of stockers, that's all.
-
If you have patience with wiring and understand how the ignition works, I think it's a bad ass upgrade. I'd love to have an RZ motor or small CheetahPV motor for a play/duner bike to have fun on....
-
I've run OOF Shearer (currently still do) and OOF CPI with and without silencers... The shearers rev a little further, not much...the CPI do come on a little sooner. I don't think you're going to notice a night and day difference....(other than they'll be louder...and your bike will be easier to work on) CPI makes a very fine pipe...plenty of people run and use them and love 'em. Blewbyu smashed a set cartwheeling his at the dunes. CPI charged him next to nothing to straighten the pretzel out...I thought that was damn good customer service. Not saying Shearer, or other pipe manufacturers wouldn't do the same, just going off what happened and what I know... Back to the question...hard to say. For pavement with a big guy on board and a lot of compression...I think you're gonna like them a lot....
-
Cub cylinders are NOT like OEM, you will not see the power gain by porting on them as you would a stocker.... You can make small but significant improvements, but not even close to the same scale as an OEM.
-
From Shearer inframe to CPI out of frame, I'd be not much. Go up two on the main to be safe...but I'd guess they'll be damn close.
-
Even if they were bare, you stole those pipes...very nice find.
-
Props to Dave Noss for trying to help out as much as he has... Check the impeller seal, bearings, washers, etc to make sure you installed it right.
-
Commit the crime, do the time.... Usually the crank will be ok, but the flywheel gets warped using a 3 jaw puller. Have a machinist spin it on a lathe and see how bad you tweaked it...but, if it were me, I'd find a good used one and go that route.
-
I have about 185PSI on 20cc domes with very generous squish (.056 ) It is very possible. But check for yourself...take NOTHING for granted.
-
I'm going to go out on a total limb here.... I say CPI or RDZ. I love my Shearer pipes... But he's moving a heavy bike down the pavement, more hook, etc. CPI and RDZ make more power in lower RPMs than Shearer....if you believe all the dyno sheets you run. Seeing as you have over 200PSI, this motor, IMO, is not going to rev to the moon, so...get a pipe that will make more power in the RPMs it will turn. From what I've seen and read, RDZ or CPI would be a good choice....
-
I think you'll be ok running that much with Gas, with alky that would make me nervous. I know Jeff likes a lot of compression on his 10 mil with alky, but...he's a dune rider not a 1/8 mile guy. I'd make sure you have a properly cut dome and maybe a little more generous squish with that much PSI and 1/8 mile, like low to mid .050's.
-
By no means am I telling you how to setup your bike...my personal preference is less compression and more timing. Again...I ride 300 foot sand, different than you...and on alky. With a lighter bike but fat kid at the helm still....LOL.
-
205 PSI??? WOW....that thing is going to come out of the hole like a sunnuvabitch, but I have a feeling it will fight itself on the big end...wow.
