  2. Holding the throttle wide open might give it a handful more PSI. Cold to warm, same thing...warm should give you a higher reading than cold, when the engine warms up, the piston and rings expand...that's why when an engine is low on compression and worn out, it's harder to start cold, but once warmed it usually starts much easier... Either something isn't right, or the gauge is bad. Is the gauge thread depth as long as the spark plugs? That could falter a few PSI. That bike should be 170 to 190 PSI roughly....
  3. Some oils burn cleaner than others...if it's jetted spot on, don't mix more oil...leave it. Check your plugs and be done with it...

  6. Guys... I have his old school head on my 10 mil cub. Alky bike, hundreds of passes, no issues. I'm thinking of upgrading to his new style head (with removable domes) just because I'm probably gonna spray my motor this year for the piece of mind. Plan on picking up one of his timing plates one of these days...when I get more motivated to tear mine down all the way...LOL. The chrome is top notch, fit is nice....and 0 issues with mine...
  7. Possible, but if he can adjust his air screws from .5 to 2.5 turns out and clean it up...no need to go to a smaller pilot.
  8. You guys are telling him to change oil when it started running like shit RIGHT after he changed the timing plate. Did you touch the carbs at all when removing the timing plate? If not...stop playing with jetting/fuel/oil and get back to electrics/ignition. A bare wires, broken hold down, bad flywheel, bad stator....loose wire connector...etc. Oil type and ratio is fine. I like more oil, it's my preference....but if it ran perfectly fine and never fouled plugs and ONLY started doing this if you ONLY changed the timing plate...look elsewhere. Are you sure you didn't retard the timing on accident? If anything, advancing the timing requires a little more fuel, not less (not always...but sometimes)

Have you checked the air gap between the flywheel nubs and the pickup coil? .015 to .018 is where I set mine. if that is fine: Check the complete harness nose to tail for breaks, burns, bare or exposed wire. Replace the stator (do NOT get a junk Ricky Stator, find a used OEM on ebay or from another member) CDIs fail very rarely. Start checking kill switches, loose grounds, etc.

  12. Well put.... I get pissed when I see people shit on our soldiers. They are doing the job they have been told to do...period. I agree...election is over, move on...and let's all hope he can do a few good things. And lets face it...with all the shit storms from the economy, to houses, to loss of jobs...he wouldn't have to do much to improve the country for all of us. Regardless of who is to blame and how long ago it started.... Move forward. I'd rather see him working towards fixing it rather than spend time figuring out who's to blame...can't go forward when you're looking back.

It doesn't matter if it is Bush's fault or not. Here's the bottom line...he's been on watch since the shit got bad. That's all people know. And when Obama kept pushing the 90% of the time McCain voted for him, and McCain picked Palin (Smoking MILF as she might be) as a running mate...he was doomed. She might get the job done in the hills of Alaska, she might have gotten a few ex-Hillary supporters on board that wanted a woman in office, and she might have given a few soccer mom's their best shot in office.   16. There are some that swear by a short rod on even a 4 mil crank because it'll rev faster.... Adding oil to fix band aid a motor is like changing spark plugs or changing premix to compensate a jetting issue...
  17. While my Chariot head I got from you early this year has given me zero problems, I plan on putting a 30 shot on my motor this year... I might have to get one of these stronger heads from you J. Guys...he ain't lying, this chrome is NICE!!!
  18. Add 200 to 250 for the nikasil that it needs. For 100 to 200 more, you could have all that brand new never ran....
  19. Yep, machined out of billet, and yes, it's chromed. The coolant passages are there, just hard to see cause it's blingin so much. Used mine all this past season, LOTS of passes on my bike...not a single leak or problem.
  20. I've got pics of mine installed...the hardware he uses is nice, however...I didn't like the small allen head bolts for the water neck, so I got different stainless bolts at the hardware store. I'll try to remember to post a pic later....
  21. I wouldn't give him a dime... He isn't going to be selling it to anyone else without a clean title.... If you take the bike and trailer, get a bill of sale signed by him. Last thing you need is hot property at your house. I still would not give more than a 50 to 100 dollar deposit...
  22. It is also possible if that cable is old that it's strectched out a bit...as well.
  23. Stick your finger in the back of the carb, see if you can push the slide up any further...if you can't, it's WOT. Looks like that should go up a bit more..
  24. It is a steal, give him a refundable 50 or 100 dollar deposit. Why pay for half if he is the one that has to do the legwork to get the lien off it. I don't think you should have to give him half....all you should do is give him a good faith deposit, and get a receipt.
