  1. Location, Location, Location.... A 2000 quad here in MI can sell for 3500 to 4500 in Cali... All about the Market!!
  2. I wouldn't bank on an Oring either, but...if one was installed incorrectly, it's a possibility (I'm trying not to sound too negative and jump right on the smoked piston band wagon....lol)
  3. 2200 for a bike that doesn't run and has no compression????
  4. I'm pretty sure RM stator is the Canadian equivalent to Ricky stator. They are not bad. I have one. The billet piece is nicer. For the 90 or 100 bucks Pro Design wants, they can have it. For the 50 Chariot wants, I'm picking one up....
  5. As said, start by taking the head off. You could get lucky, pinched or smoked Orings. Could have a melted piston....
  6. I'd say that's pretty fair... Are you on any other forum other than HQ?
  7. A. Please turn the caps lock off, it's the equivalent of shouting. B. Being a member with only 5 posts and no feedback, do you have an ebay ID or something else so users can check up on you. That is a smoking deal on those cubs/pistons. No doubt...but with only 5 posts at this point, I'd be Leary myself...
  8. X2
  9. Call Direct Drive. "Im lookin to get 2 of them One for the flattrack bike and one for the drag bike." ???
  10. That's some good info... You guys sure the squish is the same on both sides? (I mean left to right) Leak down test it again. Start it up with the stator cover removed...and spray carb cleaner behind the stator. He said he checked for the crank being twisted or out of phase... If it only, and every time deto's the left side, with different domes, different carbs, etc. It's not electrical, it's mechanical... It has to be crank, seal, leak, etc.
  11. Amen.... I've been bored at work....and I've been reading a bunch of notable news sites. While I realize most of them have a "slant" to them...I approach news the same way I approach working on my shit. Gather a bunch of sources, read between the lines, draw your own conclusions... Trust me, you tube conspiracy videos are NOT my source of news...LOL.
  12. read up Tyler... Although the US is the largest importer of foreign oil, the GLOBAL economy is in the shitter. We just led the way.... There is a global shortage for demand of oil. And OPEC did something about it...cut production by 1.5 Million barrels a day. And OPEC, even though the price has bottomed out...has not said they're going to cut any more production until that cut catches up..... Demand doesn't go up and down daily...it takes time. Ripple effect... as economies went in the crapper, our stock market is bottoming out, big 3 are crying for money, etc., everyone spent less, drove less, consumed less. That is finally catching up.
  13. Oil price is set by supply and demand... Speculators and analysts are what the democrats tell you during an election...and it works. Cause now they'll say they drove the price down... OPEC has said they want to keep oil between 70 and 90 dollars a barrel, they are waiting to see what the price/reaction is to the 1.5mil a day they cut out. It hasn't hit yet. I'm not saying it'll go back up to 4.00 a gallon anytime soon, it will go back up 10 to 20% in 2-3 months...slow climb from there. Bookmark this post...
  14. Actually....there are probably only 2-3 big companies that make the finger style, but...many stamp their own name on it...
  15. 1.73 cash, 1.79 to 1.85 credit price. My Hemi is smiling pulling into the station....LOL. It'll be this way for another 2-3 months...leveled out, then it'll hike back up. The 1.5 million barrels a day production by OPEC haven't hit yet....they will. Global demand is down...but heating needs and people willing to travel a little for the holidays is gonna consume all the excess. Oil per barrel is below 50 dollars, it was, at its highest just a few months ago...147 per barrel.
  16. Somewhere, in NY/NJ/Philly...there are repair/engine shops licking their chops.... LOL
  17. A 30 dollar auto store tester is one I've seen give false readings... Craftsman, Snap On, Matco...etc. I promise a good compression tester is cheaper than a new top end...LOL. Depending on how agressive the port is...those numbers seem about 10PSI low, give or take.
  18. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the 4 stroke development and them going faster and faster... I'm just having a little fun, so I don't want to be called a hater.... I've owned my fair share of them in the past...
  19. 1 of two things. You're too rich to begin with, or you haven't blown the motor....yet. Generally...1 main jet size larger for every 20 to 25 degree drop in temp. We ride in 80 to 90 degree weather here in summer time. low to sub zero temps in the winter (ice racing, etc.) Generally, it's 3 jet sizes. It all depends on how spot on your jetting is to begin with.
  20. 4 strokes are like Tampons, every pussy needs one. Live long, go slow, drive a 4 stroke... Riding a 4 stroke is like banging a fat chick. Sure it's fun and feels good, but embarrassing when someone sees you. What's the difference between a 4 stroke and a Vacuum cleaner? Where the dirt bag sits.... Sorry, I know they're old....
  21. Use the good tester.... I've seen a crappy tester vary 30PSI from one cylinder to the next on my buddy's triple sled, slapped my snap on gauge, dead on. After 15 minutes, your rings are seated.
  22. Is the 199 just for the inner hub, no basket, no fibers or steels?
  23. First off, you need to do a search on boost bottles. They are a waste, and could very well contribute to cracking your intakes from the weight. Please cancel that. Second...you should be running BR8ES plugs...not 7s'. They are too hot.
  24. Toomey needles are made by DynoJet. So, it's either a Toomey/jet needle (they are longer and have 6 grooves instead of the stock 5) or a Vitos. To my knowledge, a Vito's needle is red. I could be wrong there. You definately have an aftermarket needle. It is supposed to be richer in the middle... EDIT apparently...my memory isn't so bad. http://www.vitosperformance.com/atv_parts/...=197&page=1
  25. If the reeds have a 1/8 inch gap or smaller, they're fine. If it's larger, or it's chipped/missing, then replace them. You could always flip the reeds around if they are not chipped or broken. yeah, get new intake boots, that's a motor killer right there.
