Yeah, that's pretty damn clean. People that take care of their stuff usually shows through when you look at it. Look for what bikes similar to yours go for in local papers and craigslist, and do the same for his... If the value is pretty close, go for it. You gotta remember, each market is different. That banshee might fetch 1500 here in MI (just an example) but might fetch 3K over in Cali... Location, Location, Location.

The first thing you'll have to figure out is if what style bike he wants, what kind of salvage, parts or dealers you have near to you. next is a budget, and double it... Basket cases are fun if you have the patience, the connections and know how to find parts and the time. There are a whole lot of projects that never get done because people run out of one or the other(s). The economy is shit, people are selling off left and right. Now is the time to buy used on craigslist, etc. Some true finds out there. If you gotta spend a little more on a running complete bike vs. a basket case...which, you never know what you're getting, might be worth kicking in the extra bills. Do you know what kind of bike he wants? sporty, cruiser type, small engine, big engine, etc?

The ONLY time you would need it that I can think of is if you race on asphalt or other organized racing. For example...if you race the 1/8 or 1/4 mile, many tracks require a catch can of some sort to prevent water or antifreeze/coolant from spilling onto the track. That's the only reason I would say to keep one. For woods riding, trails, dunes...etc., it is not needed as previously noted 10 times...

If he rides TIGHT, slow and technical trails...I agree. That pipe REALLY changes the bike 100%. First time I rode a 2 into 1, it just didn't feel right. It didn't rev to the moon, it just chugged along, then boom...shift. Different, but cool. If he rides open, faster trails...I think he'd benefit from a pipe that'll let it breath a bit more, like a ProCircuit or FMF pipe.

Try removing the lid again (make sure you have a pro flow kit so the filter fastens properly to the box, otherwise..air leak + Dirt = big boom. Try turning each air screw in .5 to 1.0 turns in to give it more fuel on the bottom. Starting is all about pilot jet size (which I think you're fine on) and air screw setting.

I will probably get a Dyna ignition again, one of these days. I plan on running NOS this year, some time...already have the kit. Although it's a PITA track side to change compression (dome replacment) I like the fact I can program a regular curve for my motor, then a Nitrous curve as well... I hope that's the way things fall....just don't know...

Tell you guys what... I just got one from my buddy at RB Racing, and I found leaks I didn't know I had. The intakes were leaking were the rubber meets the metal. I don't know if they just started, or possibly were leaking all last year.... These kits are absolutely worth their price in gold...fo sho.....

Don't say that....Jacko will be on you too!!! badshee...you don't have to mechanically remove the TORS adjusters to eliminate their electrical function on your bike. Cut the wires going into the throttle housing. (Remove the top, add a little RTV to seal it up from dust/dirt) Unplug the triangle shaped connectors from the top of each carb. Unplug the black TORS "brain" from under the gas tank on the left side (as you're sitting on the bike) There will be wires running off your clutch perch, follow them down a foot or so of wiring and unplug that as well. The mechanical TORS will still be on your bike, but you've effectively removed their electronic ability to limit or cut out the RPMs of your bike. As time/money allow, get the removal kit to get those big honking things off, new carb caps...and drill the carbs for idle screws. Good luck.
