Dammit..you totally stole my thunder. First...what mods do you currently have, second...what is your budget.

I've heard that one, a 400cc 4 stroke and Honda bringing back the 250 R plenty of times over the years. The banshee ones always start out as an April Fools joke for Dirt Wheels magazine.... Even sleds are starting to go 4 stroke.... The days are coming to an end boys....and it flat out sucks.....

A number of things. It could be fine, it could miss and pop at higher RPMs if you're lucky, if the gap is too small, it could smack the pickup and possibly damage something. Probably one of those things better left done and right than undone... It's foot peg bolts, shifter and the side cover bolts to get to it. I would advise to set it, I go .016 to .018, and roll it over to check both nubs.

Their flag ships are the Raptor and YFZ...they have no need to develop more 4 stroke ATVs IMO. Think about this....both those bikes have been around only a handful of years now, and each has had the motor totally redone. Meanwhile, the basic power plant for the banshee remained unchanged...I should say, remains unchanged. What if they put a little R&D into the shee...damn shame. Pollution hippies...I swear.

That's my guess too. When it ran out of gas, was the motor SCREAMING...or just lugging around. Reason I say that is, when you run a two stroke out of gas, you also run it out of oil/lubrication for everything in the crank case. If you were WOT, you might have damaged something..... If you were chugging around, I'd start by removing both carbs, and one by one, completely dissasemble and clean them. Remove the gas tank, drain, and remove the fuel valve. I'd bet it has 11 years worth of dirt and crud on the fuel valve screens that go in the tank.

Damn...I thought it was clean and nice before you redid it... That red is SMOKIN...very nice looking ride.

As a rule of thumb on any carb I setup. I look in the back of the carb, and in/out the idle screw until I can JUST see the slide start to move up. I then turn it in 1.5 turns. You can make 1/4 and 1/2 turn adjustments from there, remember....you want to set the idle while warm.

20 ft lbs scotty. I normally torque them 10 first, then 15, 20...and then 22. If you have an aftermarket head you're working on and need a stock head torque sequence, I'll get you a pic. bascially, Criss cross the middle 4 studs, then star pattern and work your way out.

It's just one of those things that's hard to get a straight answer, kinda like why you drive a Chevy, Ford or Dodge... I've never personally ran it, but a few people who's experience and knowledge I respect have had no issues with it. No one person can try it all, so you lean on those whom you know and trust....

Good question...I'll give you my opinion. There is more pressure on the head and it's sealing surfaces than the base of the cylinder. But probably more importantly, you're be raising the ports in the cylinder...and due to a longer stroke, that's what you want. I don't port cylinders, I'm not going to guess what a builder will do to your ports as far as raise then, open them on the bottom, etc... This is a very general statement, but you'll want the ports raised to accommodate more stroke (2mm on top, 2 on bottom) to get the charge in faster and the exhaust out faster.

I'd say the eliminate the need for spacers, look cool...but don't offer any significant performance Snop. I ran built in and switched to non-crossover intakes and didn't change a thing. Can't tell ya on the intake size, I only run the bigguns....
