  1. I haven't seen a lot of people adjust slide cutouts (thats whats different between the 2, the cutout on the bottom of the slide).
  2. you're right, I apologize. Regarding throttle valve size, do you mean the slide?
  3. I can take a picture tonight if need be, but it's just a piece of fuel line between the 2 nubs on the carbs. Both carbs will have a nub on the inside part of the carb about halfway down. The hose is about 2 or 3 inches long and goes between the two.
  4. the only thing connecting the chokes on the 2 carbs is the vacuum hose. Nothing else.
  5. most likely you will need a slight jetting change, but nothing dramatic.
  6. run both, yes. My stock cages and aftermarket reeds are now in my parts bin along with all my other stock parts I don't need. Dyno test? Nope, I run my bikes in the real world for testing where results are proven. When I swapped to the VF3 reeds I noticed a bit better throttle response, and a bit more topend. Nothing world beating, but they are worth the money in my opinion. Why are you so stubborn about understanding that what works great on YOUR setup might not work on someone elses setup? There is more than 1 way to skin a cat.
  7. go take pictures of what you have. 1 picture will speak 1000 words.
  8. you won't be able to easily see the undersides of them unless you take them off. Did you swap the intakes too? Just seems weird there is no noticeable damage to the reeds and that is causing the issue.
  9. well actually, he was asking which carb was right for him, not which reeds, but I digress. to the original poster, if you're looking for a good single carb setup, go with the 35mm PWK and follow Snops jetting suggestions, they will get you in the ballpark and you'll be able to find tune it in from there.
  10. thats great, with your setup. With other setups they've proven to be the best out there. Just because something was down a little power on your setup doesn't mean it will be on everyone elses. That's what is great about Banshees, so many choices. That being said, I doubt he notices much if any difference at all in switching reed cages, which is why I said don't bother swapping, run what you have.
  11. yea, there is no 34 PWK, 28,33, 35, 38mm on those. I disagree on the reed cages though, the VF3's do great. If it is a 34mm PJ, it is very likely a stock 250R carb. They are not nearly as good of a carb as a PWK.
  12. the VF3 are a great setup, but it sure does hurt the wallet replacing the petals! Are they noticeably worn? You will have to take the petals off to see the underside where they rest against the cage.
  13. PITA= pain in the ass I watch the atv classifieds and craigslist a lot here, I see the same banshees on there month in, month out, asking price of 3500 and up. The ones that always sell are the cheaper ones. Everybody wants 450s now, it's just the way things go. Great if you want to buy a Banshee, not so great if you want to sell one.
  14. you're not going to get out of it anywhere close to what you put into it. Many people hear that the motor is modified and pass just on that fact, they don't know who did the work, and want to build their own.
  15. are you sure the right carb's float bowl is filling with gas, or is the float stuck closed now?
  16. I work in IT as well, similar deal as dajogejr, Network Administrator/go to guy for anything related to computers basically. I get asked at least once a week when we are going to Vista. My answer? Give me a valid business reason we need to go to Vista. Needless to say, we are still on XP. Our CEO and head salesman have Vista because they are visible to Microsoft (we are a Microsoft Gold Partner) and attend launch events etc. with their laptops. Vista offers nothing over XP for 90+% of businesses. XP is a proven product and will live on for a long, long time. There is a reason many 'geeks' are installing Server 2008 on their machines and adding in workstation applications and setting them up to run applications rather than background processes. If you don't believe me, Google 'Windows 2008 Workstatioin' I tried it on a spare laptop at work, and it runs much better than Vista. Windows Vista...the newest Windows ME!
  17. did you run a compression test?
  18. I have perfect form in field goal kicking empty fuel cans into the street in front of my house.
  19. this topic is already going in the suspension section. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93290
  20. the recreation/duner shocks can be had relatively cheaply, I think I paid $350 for these. I put them on the Banshee because I have a set of PEP Race Series coming for my YFZ. It worked out real well, the YFZ brakes are such a huge upgrade, especially if you put stainless lines on a long with them.
  21. this is mine. Complete '07 YFZ front end. A arms, spindles, brakes, and YFZ Elkas.
  22. yea, clean any corrosion off the slide pins and lube them with a good synthetic brake grease.
  23. I currently run Ubuntu and PC Linux OS 2007 desktops and Ubuntu and CentOS servers. They all work great.
  24. I've been running ATF Type F in my 2 stroke trannies for years and years, it works great and is cheap. I change it every other ride or so.
  25. http://youtube.com/watch?v=6EycmuuejM4 low quality, the full quality version looks much better. It's a 580 line sony based CCD from Skullcamz.com little higher quality, still compressed a lot http://www.silverlakesandduners.com/movies..._teaser_med.wmv
