My builder had recomended klotz.. So I have ran Klotz lol... The few times I have had her opened up since its all looked real good.. Little bit of buildup on top of the piston but who's to say thats not from runnin a bit rich.. I always tend to run my bike a bit of the "safe" side so the little bit of buildup was anticipated.. Thats the thing, if I didn't USE my bumper I probably wouldn't have one but damn do them come in handy.. Its one of those lemons you gotta make lemonade outta.. So I just painted mine flat black to chill it out make it a little less noticeable.. Same with my nerfs.. If I were you I would just get a nice straight stocker or if yours there is in good shape just paint her up.... RIPPEN

Well there isn't anyone on here that Iam aware of that is profesionaly competing in motorsports.. lol Serioulsy though.. I agree 100% with Dave that going solely off cranking compression isn't the BEST way to figure out fuel requirements as there are different variables in everyones set-up.. However taking accurate measurment of cranking compression and roughly factoring in the other variables such as timing and such atleast helps to give you a baseline.. When It comes to fuel I always try to "play it a little safe" anyway, atleast that way you maybe hurting a tad in performance rather than sevearly physicly hurting componets.. Like I said, I understand cranking comp isn't as accurate as figuring it out the "long way" but is a bit more practical and straight forward for allot of guys(including myself).. RIPPEN

It deffinatly wouldn't have any higher value to me based on who owned it.. Pretty dumb.. As far as the auction itself I thinks that pretty chicken shiat to have the on-line auction and then throw that in with a live auction.. They better hope the winning bidder is well aware of the details.. RIPPEN

Give Jeff at F.A.S.T. Racing a call.. One hell of a good guy and will be able to set you up with ALL the parts you need.. Otherwise I agree that if you got a few bucks to spend and have to replace a crank anyhow you might as well go 4mill.. I have been VERY happy with how mine runs! RIPPEN

The guy I know personaly ran his pretty hard two long weekends.. One time I think he broke a belt or some shit from hooking up so hard.. It had rained the night before so with that tacky sand and heavy sled something had to give.. Sands deffinatly hard on stuff but we were suprised that it wasn't eating stuff up like a guy would think.. RIPPEN

Once you hit around 160 Id be going to the safe side and runnin 50/50... 170-175 or so I would go straight race fuel.. Thats what I have always done anyway.. RIPPEN

No shit? That would be cool to check out.. Especially how the front wheels set-up is.. Thats the thing we knew we needed but didn't know how to improvise on a machine with ski's.. Good stuff.. RIPPEN

Um actually thats partly true but not totally.. The glue I use, I use quite a bit and its similar to sylicone rather than just a glue so in a sense its like its on rubber.. And furthermore I don't think its the vibration that tears them up as much as my pogo stick over the woops..lol Like I said, mine hold up ok but do fail after a while.. Then again I cant really be that upset about it as I said its pretty cheap and also wasn't really made for the aplication Iam using it on.. RIPPEN

Yeah, that setup linked above looks to be a decent one.. I did both.. Made one which wasnt the same as above and then bought one from a guy.. The one I made had all sorts of flaws and the one I bought wasn't much better but worked.. If any of you make that one let me know how it turns out.. RIPPEN

All I know is the billet almn DG one on my bike failed and possibly caused more damage.. I think if they are used correctly(which in my case was half my problem) then they would be a good investment.. I would just go with one of the plastic jobies.. Like in my case I was runnin a 13T front sprocket and I think that left to much room.. Chain hopped off and sent the CASE SAVER through the top.. Ah well, I got lightend cases out of it-lol.. RIPPEN

Actually man Ill have to ask my buddy.. He used to work at a car performance shop and used to order them for me.. Cant remember the maker.. Ill let you know in the next day or so after I talk to him.. Like I said though I think they are right around 10 bucks or so.. RIPPEN

Oh grim.. Yes my friend, you have been missing out.. I would say they are compareable to a Wave Runner but again, WAY faster/more powerfull and damn are they fun to climb with.. They take a trip or so to really get the hang of for some people as they require ALLOT of body english and it sucks when they get stuck but otherwise.. Overall I think they are the most fun.. You ever get a chance to ride one deffinatly hit it up.. Actually... Check out how sick this shit is.. Granted they are pros but damn does that not look like a kick in the dick?? That medow at about :56 in makes my mouth water! Another thats pretty cool.. FOR THE RECORD.. CANADIANS are straight NUTS but damn can those boys ride.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnJzeMKhfp0 RIPPEN

Hahaha.. Thats basicly whats on them in stock trim.. How many sleds you ridden? Don't get me wrong, I love my banshee but if had to pick between sleds and banshee it would be tough.. Sleds are much more powerfull and much more faster.. Get them in 3-4 foot of powder in a medow with some climbs=best riding there is PERIOD. As for the question at hand yeah a snomobile is possible to be ridden on sand.. Have seen it several times in Walden.. The biggest and main problem they have is cooling.. So although a guy could do it it wouldn't probably a very good idea to take it to a place as big as Glamis.. If a guy had a truck nerby and was just out to race that wouldn't be to crazy.. Iam tellin ya though, a healthy sled would suprise some folks.. Obviously they hook up like MFers.. Oh and another thing that does suck about them in the sand is the drag on the front skis. If a guy figured out a good cooling system(fan and what not) and something for the skis, LOOK OUT-lol.. RIPPEN

I would really like to start collecting some guns.. Want a handgun like a 9mm and a rifle such as a mini 14.. My dad has both and I have really enjoyed them both over the years.. Nice collection btw.. RIPPEN

Not one to usually bash unless someone is straight ignorant so we are all good there... But I will respectfully say that doesn't even look CLOSE to 90mph but hey what do I know.. RIPPEN

Here is the Led set-up I went with.. http://s100.photobucket.com/albums/m35/RIP...nt=DSC00294.jpg I like it cause its pretty small, simple, clean, and modern. I dig yours to though Jay. Good to see different shit.. I just really not a fan of the large "in your face" tailights some put on.. I like how you cant really see them tucked up under the plastic till its night and they are on.. Mine costs about 9 dollars and I use like marine adheasive to hold it on... They don't take a huge beating so I usualy have to replace it one or twice a year(depends on how hard Iam beating on the bike).. Which i could understand some wouldn't want to put up with or pay to replace but has worked out pretty well.. Again, nice setup Jay.. RIPPEN

Damn.... You guys are killin me.. Now I have to look and see if I can make it out.. RIPPEN

Um no.. Your analogy is a bit flawed... Since your using tools Ill keep to that forum.. Ok, lets say compression tester.. Buy one at harbor freight.. Reads 130 PSI.. You take a snap-on one where they actually make them with quality parts and methouds based on reserch and design and it reads 145 psi.. Sure it cost more but in turn you got a more accurate and quality product.. My point is just because something "works" doesn't mean they are correct.. And dude, Iam sorry but just bacause you have pics of a clean looking port job doesn't mean squat.. You cant eyeball a set of cylinders and tell much about them or how they will perform.. Hell without taking measurments some of the "pros" are even reluctant to speculate what kinda porting is done.. What you prove with having a set of cyl that are "nice and even and symetrical" is that you know how to do the easiest part.. Look man, I have for the most part sat back and read.. I have admiration for what your trying to acomplish and wish you the best of luck.. It looks like you are taking the right steps in trying to get your name out there.. But don't stomp around flexing your muscles with promises and pictures... Let your work do the talking as many of the "pros" have done.. Oh and like it or not, porting is one of the areas where you USUALLY get what you pay for.. Rather than arguing or denying that stigma you may wanna embrace it.. I bet when you do get some proven cylinders under your belt you will more than likely want to capatolize(not saying screw) on that stigma.. BTW, fellow Mopar nut here  RIPPEN

Leaving boost bottle ports open to suck more air in?
RIPPEN replied to Badapwned's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Post pics of the ol'lady or be subject to ridicule forever!!! I liked the ram air idea MJ had... That may just work.. LMFAO!!! RIPPEN -
I also agree with allot of what has been said above.. Everytime someone mentions "cheap" porting or doing it themselves I kinda cringe.. Don't get me wrong.. I know that "everyones gotta start somewhere" but i don't think allot of people realized whats involved. People think because they hogged out a exhaust manifold on their car that they will be proficient in porting banshee cylinders and making power.. I have seen guys here and there say well I got this or did that and MAN what a difference.. Thats great and Iam happy for them but at the end of the day just because it feels faster than it did before doesn't mean your getting the power or power delivery like you should/want/need. When I got my port job done like others have mentioned it wasn't really about the money.. It was about getting what I want and needed out of it.. Its like a Lawyer.. Sure you can hire a cheap one or even represent yourself.. But in the long run you get what you pay for.. Porting is a "specialty" service that takes lots of time, learning and R&D.. Allot of the guys that are sucsessful in porting have been doing it for a very long.. Iam not trying to bag on anyone thats trying to do their own thing or wanna find the cheapest.. But when it comes to cutting corners on a build porting is the one thing I think you should never slouch on.. There are allot of other mods or parts you can find good "deals" on. But when it comes to the one thing that basicly ties EVERY MOD together, its much wiser to do your homework and find which builder is best for YOU, rather than your POCKET.. Good topic.. RIPPEN
