  1. What all do you have to do to make the cub cylinders work as far as pistons and head. Do you need anything special for them? I was also thinking about going to twin carbs, the single and all engine mods were already done when I bought it. I like how simple and clean the single carb is, plus it hits pretty hard on the low end. If I can make it work I would like to keep it, even though I know I will have to get a bigger one. As for the head I was thinking about just milling the shit out of my stock one, it would be nice to have a cool head with the domes but its hard to spend the extra 200 bucks for not much difference... Or is there??? I was looking on E-bay and saw a i believe it was +5mm rod and +4mm crank kit for like 680 or so. I have also seen some nice big bore kits that are pretty reasonable. If any of you have heard much about those let me know. The pipes Iam looking to get are the in frame CPI, I heard they are one of the best pipes you can get???. Thanks for the info, any input helps RIPPEN
  2. Over this season Iam noticing allot more tail pipes ahead of me and Im not happy about it. I think allot of my problem is its just getting tired and is needing a re-build. But I figured if Iam gonna do it I may as well dump some money into it. So Iam curious what everyone would recomend. Iam looking to spend around 1500 at most not including new pipes. Right now i have t-5 pipes, single carb(35mm I think) milled 30 on the head, and i believe its stock otherwise. I like hill climbs and drag racing and for the most part all I ever ride is sand. Iam not really interested in nitrous, seen allot of people run it and just have problems. Curious as to how well the stroker kits work. Any info will help, thanks RIPPEN
  3. Thats what Iam hoping for, if alot of people turn out maybe it would bring out alot of cool stuff. Iam just stoked someone is finaly putting something like this together. Thanks for the site info. RIPPEN
  4. I met a few guys last week at Walden and they said there is going to be sand drags up there the 18th of Sep. there is supposed to be two classes for each two stroke and four stroke. One class is non power adder and the other is with power adder,(boost, nitrous) I dont think they concider pipes or engine work power adder. They also said they heard they are having it on the flat drags, which will be gradded and have a actual tree set up. If anyone has any other info on this or there is anything Im wrong about, please let me know because Im trying to get as many people up there as i can Thanks RIPPEN
  5. Thanks for all the info. I hope it stays together for the rest of the season but this winter its time to freshin it up anyway . Thanks RIPPEN
  6. Iam wanting to rebuild my engine this winter but I know there are some special tools needed to do the job "right" or more easily. So Iam trying to figure out what all I may need and how much some of these "special" tools may cost. Any help would be great. Thanks RIPPEN
  7. I have heard the same, the pc's seem to perform closer to the T-5s. I have a couple friends that run the pc's and they run well. However I would still have to say the T-5s are my pipe of choice. RIPPEN
  8. I was able to see that the leak was coming from that screw when I got sand on it. It was easy to see because the gear oil "washed" the sand from there. But it sounds like all I need to do is maybe tighten that screw. Thanks for the info? RIPPEN
  9. I finally found where the gear oil has been leaking from on my quad . I have changed out the o-ring on the back of the small plastic plate located just below the drive sprocket. After riding this weekend i looked and was able to see that leak is actually coming from the little screw on the plate. So my question is, what is the purpose of that screw and are you just supposed the tighten it all the way? Thanks for any info RIPPEN
  10. I want to get up there as soon as I can also, really bad now that I hear its getting nice. Not much fun up there when the weather sucks like it did last memorial. Let me know when you all might roll up so I can try to break loose. Thumb is starting to twitch Oh and does anyone know where you can find a good selection of whips? Thanks RIPPEN
  11. We are gonna try to go to Little Sahara, depending on fuel prices. I have only ridden in walden so I cant wait to get into some sand where we can really run. In the next couple weeks we are going to try to get up to walden just to run out bugs and get a head start on the season. A couple of my buddies have had theirs apart or made some changes so we rather do all the tuneing/breaking in close by. We all can hook up at mex fest, I think I like that weekend the best so Im really going to try and make it this year. RIPPEN
  12. Iam from Loveland and Iam always looking for some place to ride. Been to VDR and was kinda disapointed, i found I don't like tracks. Went out to Pawnee and that was kinda cool, helped take the edge off. Mex fest at Walden is good and iam going to try and hit that up but a bunch of friends and I are trying to get a trip going for memorial weekend in Utah. Sand dunes here I come RIPPEN
  13. I agree with BIGGIN... to a point. When I had my seat cover replaced I had them put that gripper material on it instead of the regular material. Its a little different, just has a clean look and you don't slide all over hell... Well not as bad RIPPEN
  14. Yeah I got some nerf bars and put them on as soon as I was able to get around. I also took my seat to a local shop and had them put that gripper material on so the damn seat isnt so slick. I just wish I hadn't been such a cheap ass and got those before cause in the long run the 200 bucks would have been better than the 18,000 . RIPPEN
  15. I just put bike bars on mine and I like them. They did take a little getting used to feel but they grew on me fast. I really like the way they look. Alot more low than the ones I had before. RIPPEN
  16. I finaly purchased my own banshee mid may of this year. By June 6th I found myself in a hospital reciving morphine and preparing to go under the knife. A friend and I figured we would take advantage of the nice day and go for a ride. We heard of a place close to home so we figured we would check it out since finding good places to ride in Northern Colorado close by can be tricky. We unloaded the machines and started to check the place out. After about 20 minutes or so I became a little more confident popping up over these little jumps. I wasn't going that fast but I popped up over one of these jumps to find that the otherside droped off at about the same rate as the side I had come up (like a small table top). Well some how when I landed, it pitched me forward and my right foot slipped off my peg. Leg got wedge between the peg and hard pack dirt... Not sure exactly what happen then but I just remember pulling my leg out from under the peg and my foot hung loosly. Knew right away that it was broke but wasn't sure how bad. The friend I was riding with took me to the hospital and I found out that I had broke both bones in my lower leg about four inches up from my ankle. So about $18,000, 6 weeks of physical therapy, one rod, and three screws later Iam able to finaly walk on my own.... Moral to the story.... This made me respect how easly you can get hurt and made me a little "smarter" about how I ride. Anyways ALWAYS know the terrain your riding, try not to ride alone and KEEP YOUR FEET ON THE PEGS. . However I didn't post this to sound like your father.... Actually I wanted to hear about some of your war wounds cause I know there are lots out there RIPPEN
  17. I agre with duece, I get a lot of comments on how good they/it sounds and iam really happy with how they perform. A buddy of mine runs the PC's and they seem to perform well also but he likes the sound of the Tommey pipes better RIPPEN
  18. I Just put the 13 tooth on the front and I think I have the 44 in the rear. Iam really not sure if I like it. I think it will work nice in the sand but on the gravel or loose dirt it just doesn't hook up at all until 4th gear, where as 3rd was when it started to hook before. I have the single carb on it so it never lagged low end before but i have heard alot of people swear by the 13 tooth so i gave it a try. So i guess if your low end is a problem a 13 will wake it up but otherwise if it doesn't perform in the sand like I hope Iam going back the 14. RIPPEN
  19. Some friends and I may be interested, we are always lookin for somewhere to ride. Live in Ft collins, loveland area so it sounds like your not to far away. There are about 6 or 8 of us that usually ride together so I will defintly let them all know. If you can post or send some more info so I can try to get somethin goin. thanks, RIPPEN
