  1. OK so I'm building a banshee for the girl in my avatar. I have lots of spare junk in the shed but I need some parts to get it more along the way... Looking for: 2- flywheels 1- stock crank 1- set of stock cylinders, preferrably stock porting, close to stock bore if possible 1- entire front suspension, arms, shocks, spindles, brakes... everything. 1- rear axle w/ hubs Thanks guys! I'm constantly spying ebay too, so if i miss something on ebay let me know! - Jared
  2. Lets all just get truncated DS3 lines and be happy. LOL I'm on a 3Mbps cable line and haven't noticed any change since the old old old BHQ from a couple years ago. lol
  3. Yeah, planetsand is def. the place to go for info on those. They sound promising. But you have to have a special head to run them, you can't use your stock head or a normal cool head. They have a different bolt pattern.
  4. I do more than just drag race so I keep most of the frame intact. I was just removing the mounts that aren't used on this run. Cleaning the frame up a little bit, you know? If I were going to build a drag racing chassis I would certainly remove a lot more than this. If all you are doing is drag racing you can also remove the frame rails that sit above the upper a-arm mounts. If you aren't doing hillshooting with whoops you don't need that much strength in that portion of the frame. Why didn't you cap off the frame rails you chopped above the engine mounts? You could also remove the gusset between the lower frame rails behind the rear a-arm mount. Just curious. Looks good, I like the color.
  5. That's freaking sweet man! Can't wait to see finished pics!
  6. Yeah, you can use them on eachother, but you really have to know what you are doing. 4-stroke carbs typically have more fancy parts in them. At least the newer ones do. Accelerator pumps, leak jets, squirt jets. 4-stroke carbs are usually bigger as well.
  7. Are you talking about banshee or normal vehicles?
  8. Would he be willing to sell the engine? If he wants to scrap the thing and get rid of the engine PM me.
  9. I have pics of my cubs from when I got them if you want some pics...
  10. Ok, I've had quite a few people ask me about stuff I do to frames lately. Here's some pics of the frame I bought from locogato. (Sorry loco, had to chop all the mounts off, I hated to trash that PC) Here's what I started with. Here's some progress pics... I never liked how those engine mount tabs stick through the frame, so I got rid of them. hehe Here's the starting weight. When I finished working on it tonight.
  11. Bring the banshees and come through wyoming. We have some shit you guys would love to ride on!
  12. Yep, that's the most common way to measure it.
  13. Look around there's a couple members here on the HQ that do porting and would probably save you some $$ compared to a professional builder. Some big names out there are: F.A.S.T. K&T Passion Patriot Speed Tech A&S list goes on and on and on. I know rocketboy does porting, and I've been known to port some cylinders from time to time. There's lots of choices out there.
  14. It is a measure of the clearance between the top of your piston and the squish-band of your domes in your head, or any surface of the domes for that matter.
  15. I've done that too! On my old warrior. I used high temp oil resistant epoxy though. Held for 3 years then cracked off and I cleaned it up and put another layer on there and it held for another couple years. My cases cracked when I finially broke a chain not too long ago. I took them to work and welded the crack up with my tig. Looks good and works good! I was lucky enough to have it not crack anywhere it could leak though, just split along that top edge. Easy fix! Next time I'm out in the shed with my camera I will post pics of the welds for you. - Jared
  16. LOL, I will always remmeber the picture of tyler with the green hat. LOL funny stuff. Pretty soon we are going to see pics of stephen in the green hat, beating up poor fat guys like myself at the bars and going home with the ladies.
  17. I do 4 ten hour days and that's my 40hrs for the week. The shop I work at lets you work as much as you want though. They have so much shit to do, you could work ten hour days all week long and they wouldn't bat an eye at it. I usually work the base 4 then do an additional day every other week. I might start doing that extra 5th day every week though since I'm building a cheetah engine, doing a frame-up build, and turning the 450 into a drag monster. Funds are going to disappear real quick. haha!
  18. Hope you know how to weld Alum.! You are going to have to split those cases and take everything out of them to get it done. Including the little seal and bearing that your clutch actuator arm rides on. Both sides of the crack have to be pretty hot for alum. to be properly welded and it will get hot enough to trash that bearing and seal in there. Post pics!
  19. Ditch that crap and just pre-mix your shit once you fix that thing. 4mm stroke is the largest you can go without trenching. I'd go stock stroke banshee crank so you don't have to get your cylinders re-ported for the 4mm.
  20. Yeah, I only work 4 days a week and have the rest of the time off. I spend a lot of time at the dunes.
  21. Maybe the main stockholder for google is a democrat.
  22. People have this huge misconception that just because someone is a machinist they know what they are doing with fabrication. I know plenty of machinists that I wouldn't trust with building a square box out of tube steel. There's a lot more involved in it than just welding shit together. Good luck with your build though. Post pics as you go along.
  23. Sorry, there is a pic of a normal raptor frame in there up towards the top. My bad. Got some pics confued when I was uploading.
  24. How's these pics for you? GSXR engine in an 87 J-Arm Banshee Frame. LOTS of frame work. I mean LOTS! Its pretty much a whole new frame. Then he went and put GAY-ASS raptor plastics on it and made it look even worse. Locogato is right, just get a raptor frame and do it right. Post up some pics of your raptor and show them how its supposed to look loco.
  25. I sent you a list of dimensions in a pm, but when I hit send I had another program crash and lock up windows. Then I got a call and headed out the door after that. didn't even think to ask you if you got the measurements until now. Sorry man. Let me know if you got them or not. - Jared
