  1. Did ya end up w/a set of the GRR's? Curious to know how they run. I am sure they
  2. prolly 15 to 20 horse difference w/cleanup port on cub. Ask Jim, he sells the Cubs also I believe.
  3. Who use to put your mods on? If it is Cam at Redline, he knows his stuff!
  4. From what I hear, you should be very happy w/their work.
  5. Check these out, in really good shape! http://www.planetsand.com/ubbthreads/showf...true#Post470574
  6. You can stay right down the road from the dune entrance, Sands Motel I believe it is called. Not cheap, but not expensive, around $100 bucks a night. W/ the cost of gas, you drive anywhere towing a trailer and it is going to cost you more money. Sparkys does not mean silencers. Now it is possible the FMF's have silencers w/spark aresstors in them. Look for USFS approved on the silencer. Or stick a rod in the end of the silencer and see if anything stops it from going right in. I don't think the rocket silencers were ever made w/spark arrestors in them. Someone else will chime in if I am wrong. Sparkys are a universal adaptable spark arrestor that connects to the end of your silencer. They run about $70 a piece. I have a set that will fit the oval FMF silencers for $80 shipped if you want them. Still in great shape, just a lil dirty. You can buy the Sparkys at the parts store next to the dunes if you wish. The rockets are going to require a round opening Sparky of course, that I don't have.
  7. I think NYUK was pointing you to GRR.
  8. Best thing to do is ask whoever you pick as a builder to do your porting and other work. You need to take advantage of the money you will be spending w/this person who has lots of experience w/setups that work w/their portwork.
  9. Gut them!
  10. As NYUK stated, in so many words, since it is a new bike, the parts that are gong to rattle apart haven't quite done so, or are just starting to. It looks like you live in Europe judging by the size of the vehicles, and you don't see many SMART cars in the U.S. I looks like Belgium actually.
  11. What kind of crank did you buy? If it is a Hot Rods, first money spent should be outside bearing swaps(TZ on right, at least a Max Load on the left) and Welded. I have the Hot Rods and from the research I have done, these are the problem areas. Then as everyone else has stated, some porting. Then you need to have the domes cut on your stock head to comensate for the increased stroke, or buy a noss head from whoever you pic as a builder and have them cut the domes to there profile to compensate for the added stroke and put you in the compression range that responds to their porting best. That should just about exhaust your extra money, if you're lucky, maybe even get you a billet impeller also. Then as soon as you get the extra money, you are gonna want a billet clutch basket for the extra power(stock one will wear fast), at least some beefier clutch springs(Toomey) if not a lockup to hook up the extra power, and then longer swingarm to keep from flipping over, which in turn will make you need a longer chain, which in turn will make yoy buy new sprockets.........I am sure you get my point. But it will all be worth it in the end!!!!!! P.S. Just called Jeff at F.A.S.T. for a chain, answering machine says he is not takeing on any more work untill June 15th. You are going to wait in line anywhere else though.
  12. Yup, and you only have to drain the coolant.
  13. Any crank from someone reputable that has been welded, and Tz or at least Max Load bearings swapped out. The rebuilt from TDR probably isn't too bad. Make sure it is welded and trued.
  14. Good chance it is from your left crank seal, could be where the cases meet. Spray some carb cleaner around see if it revs up.
  15. Only thing that could really be happening if there is even a problem is your reserve filter may be clogged toward the bottom of it. Those tubes are actually filters(if they are like the Honda, Never had my yamaha petcock out, but someone correct me if I'm wrong). If you have ever had gas sit in that tank long enough that it varnished real bad, it is possible the bottom end of the filter is too gunked up to pass fuel. I highly doubt you get 4 hrs of riding before it hits the reserve though.
  16. What NYUK said. Also make sure you get a light coat of mix oil on cylinders immediately! They will rust VERY fast!
  17. Did you try Sandtoys Unlimited? 818-500-SAND They usually have a pretty large stock.
  18. If your timing isn't way advanced and running monster compression it shouldn't do it. Are you close to stock?
  19. Very good deal, someone should snatch these up!
  20. $330 shipped w/braided brakeline. Couldn't touch that chromed from anywhere else.
  21. What is the Ebay user name?
  22. Have a used set off a 99 in good shape. $20 shipped.
  23. You need to do some tuning. It would be worth your money to go to a dyno and start making some test runs. I don't know from experience, but you should not be disappointed w/a cub.
  24. Podo's Racing. Same guy that Steven bought one from and the welds were shit. This one is pretty good, but I do have one or two welds that are pretty sloppy, but everything is solid. If you are looking to build a show bike, go w/someone else. Will hopefully have her done today, will post some more pics.
  25. $220 for 55 gallon drum of Cam 2 110.
