  1. Thanks man. I know you guys don't know me from Adam, but I appreciate it and look forward to meeting everyone. I will see if I can come up w/some to be on the safe side...
  2. Jt, looks like you are pretty tapped for sharing of the alky but I also need some . If Shayne isn't going to make it, maybe I can steal his 5?????
  3. So is this a no go for sure Dave? I have been scrambling(carefully) to get my ride done for this weekend. I have a roller w/electrical and rear brakes so far!
  4. Not sure what you mean by warped washer? Is it a stock style or Honda style carrier?
  5. I fill it up, run it, then top it off.... pretty simple.
  6. The longer you go the more traction you are going to lose on the trails. In the sand you can make up for it w/more paddle, but not the dirt. Since you don't do that much drag racing I would say a +4. I will tell you a +6 is very duneable though!
  7. I would def. check your grounds. It has been a while since I removed tors but isn't there a pair of wires you need to tie together off of the cdi?
  8. Cheap way to bleed them out is get a top from a gear oil bottle(coned) and some tubing about the same size as your bleeders. Attach the tube to the bleeder and the coned top w/zip ties. Get them tight so they don't pop off. The top off the gear oil will fit right on the threads of a typical bottle of brake fluid. Open your bleeders and squeeze the shit out of the bottle till you get the air out of the lines and fluid seeps out the other bleeder(in the case of fronts) and air stops bubling up the reservoir. Cap off your reservoir, remove tubing from bleeder, pump brake lever couple times to make sure all air is out, close off bleeders.
  9. They are sb small flange. I will give him a shout and let him know you're interested.
  10. Boonman, good to see you around, haven't seen you in a while. I must say I got a little excited as the last thing I wanted to see happen was this guy throw a plug lock on his problem and be very sorry later. I did not mention the squish issue as he is running stock setup w/mass produced domes that are a little more on the friendly side as far squish angle, cut etc. I probably didn't make myself clear on the lean issue. As you stated I was trying to explain as far as being on the ragged edge of detonation and then introducing a slight lean condition into the mix could and would be a very bad thing. Thank you for making it a little more clear.
  11. Origionally got mine for $800 because a dude thought he blew it. He told me he wasn't sure what was wrong but started smoking real bad one day, so he shut it down and never looked at it again. I said sold as quick as I could and went home and changed the right side crank seal and replaced the screw that came out of the middle of the shift star that came out and caused the seal to go bad. Changed the tranny fluid and had a great running 99 shee! Lot's more money poured in it since though....
  12. Do what you wish, but you can prolly pic up some 21 or 22 cc domes cheap and run the cool head and then you will have it later when you decide to build a monster.
  13. One of the dumbest things you can do is put a plug lock on a banshee, especially if it is anything but bone stock. It is deto! Your motor is giving you a generous heads up when starts to back plugs out. The fact that your buddy has got along a couple years w/o blowing his up w/a lock just means his motor is not detonating. But I bet he would want to know if it started. What happens if all the sudden he loses a stator side crank seal and leans out and starts detonating. Most likely he will have no clue untill it is too late. On to the problem... I would not run pump gas w/19cc domes first of all. You may get away w/it, but you are on the ragged edge. Temp changes during your day of riding could make all the difference. Deto can be caused by too much timing, too much compression(or rather too high a ratio and improper fuel) air leak, or any combination or cause of being lean. You may want to do a leakdown test, and if your timing is any more than +4, I would back it down till you figure out what is going on. If it ran rine w/stock head, and only change is cool head, fuel is definately your problem! Oh, and TNR, I am not picking on you, but just like running your quad in the dirt w/o air filters a plug lock is always a bad idea. Tell your buddy they make a great plug wrench though =)
  14. I agree the 35's are not the optimal carb for your setup. You can still get them to run good though. I would start by turning you airscrew another turn out to see if that gets you lean enough to bring up your idle and get rid of that bog. You may be rich on the needle as well. You can try to raise the clip one notch as well(try one thing at a time, then combo of both to see if any change). If turning the airscrews out helps, go down on you pilot, and you should be right in the ball park. You should really get a new set of plugs so you can read whats going on w/these carbs. Have to get you air/fuel mix down again.
  15. You would see the exhast side of the piston starting to break up and deteriorate if you had a coolant leak. You may also rattle plugs loose from Detonation as well from the water getting in there and dilluting the air fuel mix. I think you just have a well jetted low hours machine,
  16. IMO you are a pretty big dude to run 11 paddles on a +4. I would go 10 at the most. I ran a 9 paddle on a 6 in swinger 80 horse bike and it really was not enough. Good length for duning, but not for dragging.
  17. If you want to go and see some of the coolest quads, trucks, rails, on the planet, hit a holiday weekend or 4th of july week. If you want to go to ride as fast as you want on smooth sand everywhere and wait in no lines for anything, go during the week or as mentioned before or after the three main summer months. I gotta tell ya though, it doesn't get much more fun then the holiday sitting at the drag strip w/hundreds of people racing and watching all having the time of their lives.
  18. I would make sure I did a pressure test on the motor when you get it back together. Had you checked the plugs at all after the rebuild and running it a bit?
  19. Good luck w/12 paddles and a 6 in. But anyway, I just posted pictures on PS for a guy selling 12 paddle extremes tripple buffs(SLS) for $275. Better get there quick, cause they are gonna go like hotcakes. PM Checkers03.
  20. $50 shipped. Not sure what year they are off but work great.
  21. $50 shipped. Don't know what year they are off. Work great, just need some cleaning.
  22. The two closeups are the only two real flaws on the pipes. The rub on the chrome is on the inside of the left pipe only. Can't see when on the bike. The other is obviously a dent in one of the silencers. There is slight bluing where they meet the exhaust flange. They will not come w/the spark arrestors, and I am not sure if the hush kit is included in the asking price or not. The hush kit is not spark arrested. You will want to deal w/Black&Red for negotiations and other details.
  23. Bump for great seller. Will have pics up shortly.
  24. I've got a set. Do not have the stock plastic grilles on them. $50 shipped.
