  1. I would really like to know. You would think the 600 clutch plates would be alot stronger and durable than a banshee cutch because of the bigger motor. Has anyone actually tried this?
  2. I bet that old susucky will work good now.
  3. Be like all the other banshees in oxford and get the fatties j!
  4. I have an 01 xr200 here if you're interested
  5. Did you check your plugs quite often as you were breaking it in? You're supposed to check those plugs alot in case something isn't right. Try some 320's and start from there.
  6. I have quite a few mods on my bike, and I can get pretty good mileage on my shee. I don't run it wide open alot though because I'm geared so high. I do alot of open road driving, too. I wouldn't plan on going too far without extra gas. A small 6 litre jug will fit right on your wheelie bar.
  7. Hey, I finally got these from my friend who took them. That's me on my 1982 450 nighthawk. Who said you couldn't wheelie an old nighthawk? A bit of smoke
  8. as long as they arent stock pistons it's all good. I put prolites in my bike and they work good, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
  9. that's right!
  10. An ex is easy to wheelie it all has to do with the weight distribution of the bike, the shee is heavier on the front end but it can still wheelie. Yeha I'm sure if you practice enough you will get pretty good at it, but 4 strokes are easier to wheelie anyways I have an xr200 dirtbike I can wheelie that thing forever, on the banshee if I try to push my luck and wheelie a long distance I usually hit the wheelie bar because it doesn't have a good balance point. The shee doesnt go as far back as the ex without falling back and hitting the bar. I always wheelie on pavement now, and I find taller gearing (bigger front sprocket) helps keep it up longer. But really if you want to wheelie as long as an ex I don't think its possible.
  11. You say it blew up after an hour of riding? And you say you were pinned in 6th? And you claim to have broken it in good? Last time I checked you're not supposed to pin your bike after a new motor rebuild within 1 hour of riding. Clymer manual says to mix it at 16:1 for half a tank or so and take it really easy on the bike until that gets burned, then check plugs just in case and put some 24:1 in it for 2-3 tanks then you can start cranking on it. Next time don't be so impatient! Hope you learned your lesson
  12. My bike came with a boost bottle on it, but I took it off one day and put the stock tube on to see the difference and I didn't notice much... Everyone has an opinion about the boost bottle some say its junk, I don't have any dyno sheets to prove this way or that way, I wish someone did to settle it.
  13. I don't think I've ever seeen a banshee head or any previosly blown up 2 stroke head for that matter without dings in the domes. If they're really bad just take some rough sandpaper or better yet a dremel tool to smoothern them a bit. No big deal. You can split the case and expose the crank to properly clean it, but most of the debris should go out through the exhaust ports anyways.
  14. I'm surprised they even included the banshee in the shootout, most mags just ignore it and hope it will go away.
  15. You might want to buy a capslock key first! But really, shaving the head and a port job can do wonders. If you ride in the woods though you might want to go with some suspension mods first, because you said you never leave 4th gear so why would you want to make it go faster?
  16. You guys make me sick! Putting 25's on a shee is blasphemy
  17. Pin it in 5th until you got nothing left, then shift into sixth. If your powerband isn't kicking in from a wide open fifth to sixth, your bike doesn't have the testicles for that gearing. Quit living in denial and do something about it. Can you spell S T R O K E R?
  18. That sucks! You have to respect the power of the shee, or the banshee gods will f*ck you up! Next time when racing a cr125 just laugh at him, he's not even worth the gas. Get some nice ITP rims all around and some new bars and you'll be all set! You can probably plug the tire.
  19. I agree!!! I needed a chain but patched it together with 2 masterlinks and drove it for a little but then snap! The bastard broke and cracked the case at the top of the front sprocket. I saved the pieces and got them welded back on, but I was lucky. No broken cogs in the transmission, no oil leaking from the case, and the sprockets were OK. 1 week later I bought a nice DID o-ring chain. Too much torque on the banshees to be driving around with a half-assed chain.
  20. Welcome to the forums I run powercore 2's and they rock. I repacked them a few weeks ago and skimped a little on the packing this time. It sounds like a formula 1 car revving up. As far as the engine sides, you can get shiny billet aluminum covers, but like txblueshee said itll get scratched up eventually on muddy trails. I don't know how much oem replacements are, but one side of the motor (chain side) you have to replace the whole case cover while the other side(brake side) is just a round cover and a water pump cover that should fix the problem. The kickstarter problem sucks, we all have it and if you dont fix it right away its gonna rattle till it wears the bold down and its gonna fall off and youll lose it ont he trail or something. I dont have the post, but I think holyman has a guide to fix it. I never fixed mine and i lost it. I took a xr70 kickstarter and cut the spline off it and welded it to my outer spline so I can always take the kickstarter off and get a new one if I want, but so far this worked great for me.
  21. Everything I read about them makes me think they are a ton of money and for the money you're spending you're better going with boyesen or fmf reeds that bolt on to the stock reed cages. It's all about the money you want to spend.
  22. It's possible in theory, but I don't think the shee is made to go bass ackwards...someone's gonna do some damage! I want a video!
  23. I know but he won't say where it's leaking from, and if it's just coming out of the resivoir then it's perfectly normal especially if you're pulling wheelies or something.
  24. 17 cc domes, correct me if i'm wrong but thats about getting there compression wise where you have to run straight race fuel? I don't know if octane booster will work, Nos makes octane booster for race cars (you can get it wal-mart) but i think its a waste of money. Don't be cheap and just buy race fuel do it right.
