  1. I got the job offer developed to a point that I would have to be insane to not take it. I get to run the in-vhicle R&D program for North America and Japan for every thing from Class 8 trucks and smaller. Now I just have to find a way to tell my current boss what I am doing so that he doesn't try and kidnap me. If you ever want to come up and ride the coastal dunes in OR I would be more than happy to go with you. I am sure I will be down to go to Glamis every once in awhile. As for me being pirate hooker, that was just a rumor. You can't prove anything, but I will show you what I can do with my peg leg and a parrot for $20. :ermm:
  2. The +7mm max stroke on the crank with stock jugs is bs as well. :geek:
  3. None of that quote is true. (except for maybe the cost of the spacer plate)
  4. I will retract my previous statement that aircraft stripper would not work on powder coating. I obviously have not experienced that particular stripper before. It looks like it works well.
  5. Your signature picture reminded me that I need to eat dinner......................I had better go do that now.
  6. They are made by Pure Sports (which is actually a real company). However, should put that in a past tense as they have gone out of business. You can still find the tires in clearance sales every once in awhile, but that's it. They area great tire, I have owned several set on several bikes.
  7. How did you break the stator?
  8. I havbe done a little bit of work with nitromethane. I think Blowit might have more experience with it than I do. From my experience water injection is best suited to large, emissions quipment laden, gasoline fueled motor home engines. (I am not saying it doesn't work, I am saying there are better ways to go) :geek:
  9. I will be moving to the Portland, Oregon area with in the next 2-4 weeks to take a new job with Detroit Diesel. :woot: I could use advice on good places to rent with with garages. I will be working around the following address: 5420 N. Lagoon Ave., Portland, OR 97217. I will also need to spend somw time at the DMV, so any advice there would be great. Last but not least, I will need to make new friends with people to go ride with. So if you're up to showing some one around the dunes for a day on the weekend that would be cool. I haven't ridden in the Oregon dunes for atleast 4 years and I assume it's changed a bit (I alreadt know about the sound and alcohol regulations).
  10. I didn't think you were making or selling the kits. I am not sure where majicmike got that from?
  11. I think I won the race to being pissed off about this product several posts ago. Maybe we can start a club or something.
  12. That made me giggle. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
  13. I hate myself for posting anything in this thread. ::
  14. Will do. I still can't think of any thing funny to say about it. I must not be feeling well or something. I just never understood the long and low style.
  15. It's also one of Dirtwheels gay April fool's jokes. Just like the Bombardier ATV/jetski from a few years ago. :shoothead:
  16. What are you willing to run for fuel (alcohol, race fuel, nitromethane, etc.)? Do you have a welded crankshaft?
  17. Bansh-eman is good people. I wouldn't ever think twice about buying something from him. He's a class act for sure.
  18. There is another thread on this product in the suspension forum. There is a bit of a ride report there from Chainsaw. Majicmike seems to believe that Chainsaw is making/selling these kits. I am not sure if that is true or not, but it might make the ride report less credible.
  19. A UPS store will get the job done. I have shipped motors and frames through them.
  20. I have been avoiding making fun of the extended swingarm on that bike for a few days now out of respect for you, I haven't. Now that I find out that it's not your bike, I suppose it's open season for jokes about that thing. Now, I have waited so long to make fun of it, I can't think of anything to say. :: ::
  21. shut up
  22. Depending on size and weight you may be ahead to use freight forwarder that specializes in shipping to Alaska. The guys at the address below are an example. If you need a better recommendation for a forwarder, I can call and ask my dad (he's in the freight business). http://www.pafak.com/
  23. When I have shipped motorcycle engines, I have used UPS and packed in a thick cardboard box that I filled with expanding insulation foam after the engine was in it. The engine was in a plastic bag of course. As for how we ship engines at work, we use many different shipping companies ranging from DHL to USF Reddaway(my dad is an executive with the company). For packing the engines we put them in a plastic engine shipping container. The company below is one of many that sell such things. They are a great investment if you are going to ever ship an engine more than once in your lifetime. I think one motorcycle size case costs about $40 (they are very volume discount oriented). The full size engine cases are about $100 a piece. http://www.rose-plastic.com
  24. Well, apparently there is a third type of preload adjustment that Works has used. I haven't seen the one you have before. The picture clarity doesn't help matter much. Is the shock body threaded in a way that the top collar on the shock moves on the threads? I don't see any place to get a spanner wrench on the collar, nor do I see any of the notches that would be there if it was the other kind of adjustment method I have seen on Works shocks. Not to be a pain, but could you get a clearer picture of the shock collar and maybe one of the entire shock?
  25. That sounds good. As long as they don't follow LSR's example of warranty support, I am ok with it. I would just assume not ever have to use the warranty.
