You can call bullshit if you like. My cases weigh less than OEM Banshee cases. I am not going to claim my entire engine will weigh less at this point because my CAD assembly model has some fudged density numbers in some of the components. I am guessing my over all engine will weigh a bit more than an OEM Banshee engine due to the extra crankshaft material and extra cylinder sleeve. :geek:

Does anyone one know the thread size and pitch of the lens screws? If anyone one local to me has two of these screws in good shape I would be willing to trade them what is in the picture below and a beer for the screws. :thumbsup:

They're good bikes. Reliability is a question of how well the bike was taken care of before you buy it. One of my guys at work has one. If you have specific questions, let me know and I will ask him. :thumbsup:

The Banshee is supposed to have 4 rubber things on the seat.

It's not a waste and time of money if you have fun with it. Crankenstein engines are neato engines in my book.

That's awesome! Many of the friends that I grew up with are into the Cherokees these days. Properly modified, those things can go anywhere pretty much anything else can. :thumbsup:

FYI: James Lucky is selling aftermarket seat bumpers that are made of a different material than the Yamaha parts. I don't know if there is a price difference or not. I personally like the feel of the JL parts over the OEM Yamaha parts. James Lucky is located somewhere in Northern California if I remember correctly. As always, Jeff @ F.A.S.T. is a good place to met most things from what I hear.

100lbs. seems high for a engine. Do you know that for sure? I am not sure that I have a valid memory of what a Banshee engine weighs.

The 400EX's are great bikes. If I was buying a bike for a less experienced riding woman, that's probably what I would get. It's pretty hard to hurt those things, plus they are a kick in the pants to ride. :thumbsup:

The OEM Banshee CDI does not have a rev limiter in it. The short expanation is that a CDI is a solid state computer that controls the engine spark based on crankshaft rpm via a two dimensional ignition timing map that is a plot of spark timing vs. engine rpm. If you would like a longer, more technical explanation let me know, but based on the questions you had, I doubt the people you have been talking to would understand the longer explanation. :thumbsup:

No. I am thingking 14lbs. My triple cases weigh 12.lbs if that is any comparison and they are fairly similair to the Matton cases, a little larger on the outside dimensions.

See what a few 3' sticks of 6061 cost from onilinemetals? I bet it's not much. :thumbsup:

You may want to have Bigread guess at the weight as he has handled a set more recently than me. I would guess that they way twice the amount of a set of OEM cases (whatever that is). :thumbsup:

Planetsand is about 80% retards. The other 20% consists of half neato people and hafl worthless folks who make stuff up. If I ask a question over there I am gauranteed atleast 20 completely made up answers before someone gives me an honest one. The Dyna thread in the two stroke forum is a prime example of that.

What would you take for the a-arms without the spindles? I'll let you know tonight about the engine (I have to go an re-read what's in nit in the other thread.

Mattoon (sp?) Machine makes and sell them. You can buy them off their website even. :thumbsup: Shipping shouldn't be all that bad. If you have to worry about shipping cost you probably can't afford the cases. They are around $2k U.S. per set. :geek:

Union Bay or RKD have both made alot of crankerstein engines. You can PM majicmike on here as he owns one or two of them. Planetsand is fullf of retards to with too much money.
