  1. We run av gas in lots of bikes with great success.
  2. Well with as much fun as last was you know were there! As far as track racing i just dont see it in the cards for us. Were going to the dunes for just that dune racing. Track racing is fun but so cumbersome and drawn out. I think we should all just try and get everyone out at once on the sand and duke it out lol.
  3. There are some gains to be had from bumping up the compression some but its not a huge gain. Big enough to justify race fuel?... well probably not for me at least. My vision of the serval cub is to be able to build a killer trail dune motor that will do everything that you want it to do well. If im building a trail motor or a dune motor IMO i would personally set it up for pump fuel cause its my daily driver if you will. The serval did not like timing in the testing we done so this just drove the nail in the coffin in the "this is going to be a perfect pump gas motor" discussion. Knowing the characteristics of the r2's i think that they will be a good choice for the serval, the best?... thats tbd. If i was personally setting another one up for my self from scratch it would have shearers 35 pwk's and run on pump gas. Do some killer suspension work and this would be a awesome duner.
  4. CP industries has done single handledly more things for this industry than probably any other company in the business. Calvin is an innovater and without him where would our sport be today. NO other cylinder manufacturer builds anything even remotely close to the serval cylinders. Everyone thinks they know what will work on these cylinders because thats what worked on there stock cylinder. Its not opinion but fact that a traditional trail style pipe will not come close to performing as other options will from bottom to top. The idea behind the serval is to be able to bolt on big hp and tq numbers that are not directed for the drag strip, and thats exactly what they did. IMO they are the perfect setup for just about anybody thats not trying to drag race. They can be setup to make the power and tq you want at a usable rpm all while doing it on pump fuel.
  5. Just to clarify egt (exhaust gas temperature) is not afr. Afr (air fuel ratio) commonly measured by stoich would have to be read by an 02 sensor or a oxygen sensor. A wideband sensor and gauge would be needed to read stoich on a 2 stroke. That is the same type of setup that we use on the dyno to tune. EGT will measure the exhaust gas temps but is not a tuning device. We however do use the egt gauges on alot of our bikes but simply as a reference. We still tune the bikes like we always have by feel, plug readings, et's, and dyno testing. Then we get a good temperature that the bike performs the best at then it is easy to get back to there due to elevation changes, temp changes, or even fuel variances. EGT can also be used to sync jetting side to side and be used as a safety net in case one side leans out for what ever reason.
  6. start with the simple stuff... does it have fire, fuel, air
  7. Well another year has come and gone and for all of us here at M&M and it has been a great one. We have had a superb year considering the economy. Lots of good things to talk about in 2010. The HQ ride in October was a great success for us and i think that everyone had a great time. We look forward to doing it again next year. For 2011 we have some big changes coming up that everybody will benefit from so look forward to that. We have been really busy with motor builds especially leading up to and after the HQ ride so if your still waiting on a motor please be patient we are slowing but surely catching up. Also we are waiting on crank parts to come in so that may be our hold up on your build. We are expecting the cranks to be ready mid January. We are also selling the 100" rigid that Stellar built for us just because of lack of time to make it to the track and the fact that our closest track is like a 4 hour drive now. We had two close tracks when we bought it now we have nothing. So be sure to check that out in the for sale section. It is brand new we haven't even assembled it yet. Here is a tentative schedule for the holidays Christmas: We will be closing at noon on the 23rd and will reopen Monday the 27th New Years: We will be closed the 31st on new years eve and reopen Monday the 10th. I will be in the office monday and tuesday the week after new years and everybody else will be here all week. I must say we have some of the greatest customers in business and would like to extend our greatest appreciation to all of you for all your support. Merry Christmas and Happy New years to everybody on the HQ We look forward to another exciting year in 2011 Andy M&M ATV
  8. copper washers and cap nuts should seal you off no problem
  9. Tyler have you ever tried a pro wedge II or maybe a terrain trak by skat?
  10. Just so everybody understands this is a 100% complete motor flywheel stator clutch lockup and cover everything
  11. Yes millenium can fix it. Ive sent way worse in and come back brand new.
  12. Guys were trying to do a little house cleaning and ive got an extra motor i would like to move. Right now as it sets it is a stock stroke cub (65x54) with pro design head, polished lockup cover with blue lens, billet stator cover, billet water pump cover. The clutch setup is a std 7 plate and stock basket. Standard transmission. The bike ran perfect when we pulled the motor off the chassis. I would also slap a stock stroke serval back in its place instead of the cub if someone would rather have that. The cases have a small chain smack and left a small hold above the sprocket but the rear bolt for the stator cover is still in tact. Ill post up some pictures shortly. $2000 shipped to the lower 48 states
  13. Nicasil has some major advantages that i feel you are overlooking that can imo out way its disadvantages. #1 you never loose bores so effectively you never wear out a cylinder. #2 it is way harder than any sleeve so time intervals between replating vs boring is much much greater. #3 Less friction nicasil has better friction reducing properties than steel does so it can effectively make more power. #4 and i think one of its best characteristics is that is tough. I cant tell you how many cubs i beat the pistons out of and the plating is fine. #5 Aluminum piston on a steel sleeve as we all know expands at different rates so with the plating there is less of a chance for a cold siezure or any siezure for that matter. I think the numbers that we got figured on your cylinder will make it a broader tq curve than the 4mm would have made. When calvin casts the 7mm serval cylinder the blowdown will probably be a little less but these are really good numbers. The added stroke will broaden the tq curve threw out. Let me know if you need anything else.
  14. We have the stock stroke motors in stock. If your wanting to use a 115mm rod we would just use the standard blaster piston. For the stock rod guys we use a special piston same as the cub stuff which we also have in stock.
  15. Let me set a few facts straight as im inclined to do so. Hotrod cranks are built in tawain says it right on the box your paying for the name. Not that they aren't good cranks but if you think they are indestructible you are just misinformed. Wiesco cranks are also built in tawain but the center axle is not welded and there is no way to weld it once assembled which allows it to twist easier. I will say that almost all of the aforementioned crank suppliers are getting there crank parts from the same supplier we are. The problem its they are some issues with the crank out of the box, and some changes need to be made. We have tested these cranks for over 2 years and broke some reworked some and made some significant changes before releasing them to the public. we have changed rods s since the first release because we broke some on big dms but haven't yet on anything smaller than 78mm. We sent 6 current rods off to a independent metallurgy lab for testing on top of all the real world testing we were doing. And landed on a rod that we feel is the best option available to us right now. We do not sell or promote anything we don't test. I can not speak for everyone else but all of mine are trued and welded in house as I have found they cannot weld them sufficiently (same as hotrods). All of mine are pinned on the center axle to prevent twisting out of phase (hotrods is not) and welded fully over the pin for double insurance. We then true the cranks and put a good quality weld on them. The crank in the picture is on our site is not our current rod I will try and get it updated soon. Any questions feel free to give us a call Andy
  16. To all my international customers that have pmed me about shipping or have already purchased from me. If your ordering off the site it only does a table based rate as there is know way for my site to do an actual quote for international shipping. Also i will help out as much as possible with your customs fee but i have to insure your package for what its worth so we dont loose a lot of money if it gets lost and it seems that the customs people are going off of what the declared value (insurance value) is so be prepared to pay customs fees. Please keep in mind that i cannot control the post office nor the customs of your country.
