  1. What rate rear spring are you running? With a +6" arm you need enough spring rate to keep the rear suspension from completley compressing when launching. If you don't have enough rear spring rate when you launch the spring will block out (commonly refered to as "coil bind"). When the rear spring blocks the rear suspension is in active, the power being delivered is translated directly to the chassis at this point, this could be conributing to your high front end when launching. On a side note you will probably have a hard time finding a chrome round housing +8 or +10 arm new, for less than $600.
  2. Tightly clamp a pair of "vise grips" on the nut, then use a pair of"channel locks" to turn the vise grips thus loosening the nut. Or a long chisel with a hammer if you can get acess to the nut, tap the chisel until it bites into the nut, then give it a good smack or two (in the counter-clock-wise direction) until the nut becomes loose. Good luck.
  3. OUCH! Sorry to hear that, hope you and the people injured will be alright, looks like the bike needs some TLC now.
  4. We're driving out Sunday morning, just going to spend the day, otherwise we'd meet up on the road I live in Yucaipa, hopefully we'll see you out there. "Efward" is out there already, going to try and meet up with him too.
  5. You got it brother, I'll be riding my bike (silver fullbores, hopefully you've seen the pictures) and I'll have a friend with me on a yellow & red banshee, I'll keep my eyes peeled for you. Will you still be there Sunday?
  6. 909, I wont be parking at the washes, probably on Gecko some place, What does your bike look like? I'll keep an eye out for you. Or if you tell me what your group of motorhomes looks like I'll ride over and see whats up.
  7. Here's the IMS front bumper that I have.
  8. Get some good health insurance.
  9. I was surfing through Hiper-Technologies web site one day and they had some pictures / video of some big time hill shooting / drag racing going on in the UAE sand - some serious turbo bikes too. Any first hand experience with that thegreatestever? Hiper's web site BTW is http://www.hiper-technology.com I think it was in the "turbo" section of their photo galery.
  10. I'm at work too, kinda' getting paid to surf the HQ. Mentally preparing for my trip to GLAMIS this weekend, just checked the weather out there, mid 80's light breeze. Going to prep the bike tonight while drinking some ice cold Coors Light.
  11. You may try checking with "Suddco" for information regarding the needles, they may have what you are looking for.
  12. I 've got the Durablue X33 - no problems yet!
  13. I've got an IMS front bumper, I like it (I think it's made by AC - very similar their bumpers) http://www.imsproducts.com
  14. Don't jinx me - it's supossed to be nice out there this weekend. Mid to low 80's.
  15. I may be goind to Glamis on Sunday 3/28 for the day, if you want to meet up for a ride let me know.
  16. I appreciate the offer, but I'm going to need to save some pennies first. This sound like an expensive road trip.
  17. thegreatestever wher is that place? I need an excuse for a road trip.
  18. I've got the durablue "X33" axle with their lock nut (the nut works in conjunction with a cir-clip) I've yet to have any trouble with it. Does the "eliminator axle" use this same style of nut? What would the "proposed replacement" lock nut consist of? how would it diffder in design from the durablue part?
  19. CONGRATS!

  21. Honestly I'm not sure. The bike was in pieces for about a month during the re-build and my stock bars were bent. I installed the stem / adapter / clamp kit / and bars at once, didn't take any physical measurements, just adjusted the bars after they were on to my liking.

  23. knight_ripper, first off I don't know if the OEM front are re-valveable / re-buildable. The rear is. Often times when a re-valve is being done the spring(s) are replaced too, they are seperate processes. The OEM front spring is a special progressive spring I don't know of any direct replacements for them. The rear spring is replaceable, needs to be done if a swing arm length change has been made, of if the rider is of greater weight than what the bike was originally designed / set up for. If you need a new replacement rear spring I offer those to members for $50 plus shipping, and they are available in several rates.
  24. Minkia38, my guess is that the longer rear shock that youy have is either not for a banshee or is for a bike with a different shock linkage or different shock mount loaction on the arm itself, hard to say really since you bought it used. I can think of no reason one would run a longer rear shock with a + length arm unless the mounting point is in a different location. You need more spring rate with a longer swing arm not a longer shock.
  25. I would go withg the 8 paddles. 350duner - what do you have in that bike for an engine? Shit that is a lot of tire!
