Need to know what alltitude your at. Most of the time both cylinders will look bad if you seized it. I run a 370 in Glamis(sea level) with about the same mods but mine is ported. my other one runs 360main at Glamis. Up her in AZ mountains at about 5000 ft I run a 240 main Since your tearing it down I would do an air leak test before you get to far into it. I had some pics of my home made test kit but cant post them here so if you need some pics of it give me your email adress Eric

There is no effect running stock gaskets on V force reed cages. If it leaks it would only leak internally. It will not suck air from the outside. I rebuil and ran stock gaskets on V fource and had no problems. I know what your talking about. Sat in a chair and drank a beer just studying it. It will be fine.

Been down this road. I did everything you did and found out the coil went bad. Common problem with Banshee coils I herd from another sight. If you have a freind try his takes 10 minutes to change. Mine would idle fine but when you would rev it up it would backfire. And would loose firing in either cylinder. I know alot of people on here are going to say its your carbs and it could be. They want to say change your jets. But did it run fine with the jetting you had at the same air temp and alttitude before? Did the problem come on slow like you were riding and you herd a pop all of a sudden then just got worse. This is what mine did. I bought one off ebay for 25.00. Try this first its easy. Then look at swaping out your stator with a freinds bike. I have herd same problems when the stator goes bad. Also check your firing pick up on outside of flywheel. Could have come loose. Let us know what you found. It will help the next guy out there Im shure.

r6 i know your looking for a sproket but do have the battery on your shee already?
-
I was thinking the same need a battery for bright lights ect. Dose anyone know how to get the stator to charge the battery? It cant be that hard. Im shure its just a trip to Radio Shack. Thanks

New Clutch In, Can't Get The Adjustment Right
vmaxup replied to aswan175's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You probably dont have the outer alluminum cover lined up correctly has to be on the marks (arrows) -
Dont need them toss them. If it is a aftermarket clutch it should say that. Aso dont forget to soak the clutch disc in oil before putting them in.

copper coat works great. Ive done it before on my shee and jet skis. No big deal. As long as you dont bend it taking it off. I would not reuse it after you use copper coat once.

lingage arm? be more specific?

the nut holds it all together.. It must be tight stock is two nuts first one holds it tight and the other is a jamb nut. I wrap the whole thing with duct tape after its tight. I dont really like the lonestar nut. But i think you have to use it if you have a lonestar axle. I tried putting a regular set of nuts on a lonestar for a rapter. It wouldnt thread on. so i put one the nut you have. The one i had looked like the threads were all worn out so put some lock tight on the threads and on the allen bolt also

ok i used to race jet skis and now I built my own. Take two pieces of hose withclamps and plastic end caps and plug off your exaust. Then plug one of your intakes with some pvc and an end cap the oyherone install a gauge with a fitting to put air in. You can get one at a plumbing supply house. Make shure your plugs are installed. Pump up the motor untill you have like 5 pounds dont over do it. It should hold. If not check all of your fittings with soapy water in a spray bottle. then check your seals ect with the soapy water. You will find the leak trust me. Usually it will be the seals.

Iwas reading this forum and was just going too reply COIL. Im going too change my user name to COIL. Glad you found it. It took mee 2 weeks and allot of headaches. Mine was not a loose wire but the coil itself.

its the height off the floats. you must make shure both floats on both carbs are right, they say if you jump allot you should check them more often. I have had like 5 people need this fixed and the main problem is the float level. There is not much room for error.
-
so go down in the front one tooth. Will I notice that? If I do great. If imbuying them should I go up one in the rear? Glammis olds hill and race. or is that going to be to exstreme?
-
Hell if you live near AZ Ill fix it. I feal for you man. You bring the beer and watch what to do. Ive had plenty of bad luck with a couple of shees and the guys on here have helped me. If you ride one and it runs good you will never go to a 4 joke. Let us know one thing at a time. It seems like you need too start from the bottom up. Check everything. Compression. Clean your carbs. Check your float level Check your fuel filter in the tank. Get a new chain and sproket set. I could go on but you need to start out on the bottom. Good luck. It will all be worth it in the end
-
did you check the height of the float level upside down and 21mm from the alluminum surface not the gasket surface. you must also bend them so they both are 21 mm not just one. Try this use your mouth too blow into fuel inlet then close the float bowl if you cant blow air it is sealing it is your float height. How are you checking it? If it leaks your needle and seat are bad under the float. or just some dirt in there.

make shure that adjustment on your shift shaft is right. That screw and adjuster nut like to come loose or even break.
-
ok so im the only one that is going to change there gearing for more bottom end. So Im going to buy like 3 sets and try them all? No one else have suggestions on what set up to use to get more BOTTOM end. What do you guys use. Unless stock is the way too go?
-
I rode one of those thing once I did say once. They have no suspension compared to the sheee. AAAnd the stock shee is limited. I figure the first thing you should buy if your going to do it is a kiddney belt. It took kawasaki a long time to change too a new model.I dont really know why? Good luck with your project and make shure too post some pictures of this monster (garage). It would be kool to drink a couple of Buds and stand around it and bs about it. Good luck

Take your clutch cover off and have a look. Common problem If everything looks ok. try to pull the clutch in. If it barely or dosent move your rod and ball are probabbly welded together. You have to take all the springs of the clutch. Then the outer cover of the clutch should come off. If you cant get it off easiely the rod is welded too the ball and the adjuster . The only way to free this is to tap on the adjuster in the center. once you get it off you will see your problem. But dont worry the fun has just begun. You have too disasemble the motor to get the rod and ball out. it nwill probabbly be mushrumed down by the clutch cam that your cable is connected too. SO you have too split the cases and replace the cam the rod the ball and the adjuster. I had this happen twice too the same shee. Then from some great info from the guys on here. It was too run 2 quarts off oil instead off recomended level. It keeps all these part submerged in oil. I have had no problems since. I also have no oil leeking anyware from the extra oil. if you need more details let me know. It is a pretty simple system if you look at a picture. Just alot of time too do the fixen. Let me know if you need some help with the walk throught. Eric

I ground my own on a belt sander. Just made shure the table was square with the belt. I did grind the nuetral step with a carbide burr. It woorks great and neatral is no problem to find. Fo those wondering what this dose. It dose not mess with your placement of your gears it just lets it shift easier and find nuetral.

I thought someone was saying you had to rejet richer if you run those plugs?
