  1. Its not a mystery look how it works the cam moves the rod out pushes the ball into the adjuster wich in turn pushes the outer plate that hold the clutch plate. When it dose this it opens the clutch basket. letting the basket spin. 3 things go bad here 1 the adjuster nut came off or is out of adjustment 2 the ball rod and cam are welded 3 your clutch basket is whore out and notches in the basket are sticking the clutch plates 4 you ran it out of oil and welded plates to clutches 5 or the outer plate that hold the adjuster is on in the wrong position OK Ok I SAID 3 but I got out of control
  2. You didnt pu the gear spring back in the old slot. Take the cover off and take aa look
  3. Damn Nick (SDD) You sound like me on here.
  4. Im going with SDD. Whats up Nick Glamis in 7 days and the shee is running good. Puttin Paddles on Tommorrow night. And loaden up the hauler. The old welde ball to the rod to the adjuster. Crack those cases man fix it then run 2 full quarts and it wont happen again. Done this 3 times on 2 Shees not since I put a new notch on the old dip stick
  5. COil or stator. Check the wires going into coil make shure there tight
  6. Your in CA Ill be in Glamis Gecko Ground starting Wend night before Easter. Lifted Gray2500 hd Chevy 35inch mtrs on beadlockers with a 24 ft Haulmark enclosed. I just thought a bout that there are probably going to be a hundred of those set ups there for the last big weekend before it gets to hot. Stop by with that beer its going to be hot might need it.
  7. so you drilled a hole what goes over the hole now. plex glass?
  8. go to banshee zone.com print out his tourque specs and post them in your garage. Cheap tool
  9. I bet the Wallmart in your town will be on fire when they start selling Bashees next to the tire dept.
  10. Im originally from Wisconsin is it cold there> I hope so. Move to AZ or just move to GLAMIS CAL. Meet you ther for Easter in the SAND.
  11. as for the post above. Neutral finding is not the only gain here. by grinding the high points of the star you wont hit neutral between 1st and second. Read the post Essay. And what is your name BLANK MAN
  12. I run In the dunes when its hot and never have a problem. I would look int your overheating problem instead of trying to doctor it. Your gear for your impellar is probably melted. Look in you radiator and see if water is rushing by when you rev it. I just answered this on another thread I think. DO IT WITH COLLANT COLD
  13. And im the lucky winner of that beer. Send it to Glamis for Easter. Sorry man one more thing. You do have to split the cases to get the rod and cam out. I have herd of just taking the bottom apart. Iusually take it all apart. Were the rod goes thru make shure ther is a smooth surface for the rod to roll around might have debri or welded some stuff to the inner wall.. If you run 2 quarts of oil this will not happen the rod and ball will be in oil. The other thing is try not to overev the motor when the clutch is in. I know we all think we will just pull rev and dump the clutch but that is what shifting gears is for. Last but not least you can order this bearing thing for like 40. JUst search for it cant remember how it worked or who sold it.
  14. The cable doe not return from that little spring your cluch springs push it back. That little spring just keeps that cam from dragging on the rod when the clutch is not engaged. 99 Mx let us know whats up. It is a common problem.
  15. boonman He didnt mean plug exhaust or intake he ment (ithink) one cylinder complete at a time. Its impossible to pressurize one cylinder and not the other during this test. Yellow and crome. Do you run a boost bootle. You might be plugging itfor the test to far inside the boots. The cross over tube or Boost bottle might of ripped the boot from vibration. I have also seen throttle cables wear a hole thru a boost bottle Im replaceing a torn set right now on my 96
  16. I dont have a pic because its in my bike. You just half to make that spot wider and deeper use the roller to get a good fit. This mod works great can find nuetral everytime right away. I used a dremel tool with a carbide bur for the notch and a belt sander to round the lobes for the other gears. Just remember this has nothing to do with the shift position it dosent half to be exact. The roller just puts tension on the star the actual shift position is in the bottom of the star not what your grinding. Now neatral must be pretty close to centered on the star peek.
  17. its a flywhell holder. Look in a clymer book it has a picture of it. I tell you what your problem is not worth banging your head it could be much worse. DO you live near AZ Come over and Ill zip it on in a sec and head to the dunes and ride. EASTER IS COMMING. GLAMIS DID I SAY GLAMIS
  18. if you just reeplaced the clutch. Did you adjust the inside clutch adjustment. Did you line up the arrow on the outside of case. sometimes this adjustment nut comes loose and will be sitting in the botom of you clutch cover. Its hard to get tight so lock tight works well. Your lucky if its the above. If its this your in for some real fun. You could of welded the ball to the rod and that adjuster and also the cam your cable is connected too. The onlyway to fix it is pull the motor and split the cases so you can get the rod out. Had this happen twice no fun common problem with overreving with the clutch lever in. No problems after running two quarts of oil instead of 1.65.
  19. I dont know why he said what he said but if your holding then you do not have a leak. And you checked your carbs so. Let me think just a process of elimination. You have the little tube between the carbs in right? IS your float height at 21 mm on both carbs and all 4 bowls? Also pull your hoses for fuel of and see if there both poring out gas the same one might be pluged. One other problem could be the filter in the tank is plugged. not letting enough fuel to go to the other carb. The fuel will go to the shortest route carb first . Pretty shure that would be the left side first and your rich there. (just searching for an answer. One thing I did not ask. Dose it run well or not when it is running? No backfire? Im thinking float height on your left carb is off. it closes the main and that bowl is running out of fuel. Let me know what you find. Ill sleep on it and get back with you.
  20. If you read what I said It was make shure the shee is cooled down. You will not have a problem. If you get sprayed re read what I said. That is one thing about people reading these posts they dont read and comprehend before they answer. They just blurt some crap out. Good answer for post before this one. Take it to the dealer so they can get coolant all over them. Maybe thats how I should answer post from now on. EXAMPLE. My plugs are fouled what should I do. ANSWER, Sell it to me for 50 bucks you might get hurt if I tell you the answer.
  21. ok relax now its justb a shee. The real way to do it is without an impact but then youn need the tool to hold the flywheel. I have seen at sears you can get that new rubber wrench tool and wrap that around the flywhell then tourque it to the spech. One more thing you should probably get some tools because its a shee and it wont be the last time you take this flywheel off. Last resort if I was in a pinch would be to have someone else hold the flywheel with two hands and hit your ratchet handle with a hammer. IT will work just like a impact.
  22. impact that flywheel on. There is no magnetic force that holds the flywheel on its the fit of the tapper that keeps it tight when your trying to pull it off. Some people keep tighting the puller till it comes off I just get a little pressure on it and tape the end of the puller with a hammer come right off
  23. The leak down test can only be done for the whole motor. There is no seal between the lowerend. Then it has to be your carbs. take em apart and clean them. look for something in your main get. Do you run a boost bottle and when you do your leak down are you useing you carb boots. They tend to rip if your running a boost bottle. Get rid of it if there ripped. No advantage with a boost bottle.
  24. Need some more info What year (how old it it) Is it all stock? What have done recently to it. Can only be a hand full of stuff. Did you take your carbs off recently? Spill your beans man
  25. open your radiator cap when its cooled down of course. Then start your shee and rev it up. Look in top of radiator you should see water rushing by if you dont your impeller gear is melted. check that first then let us know and we will go from there.
