Cylinder Stud Snapped Off Flush With Case Now What
vmaxup replied to SyNtAxx's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
use an easy out If no luck you can send them too a shop to have them burn it out with an edm. Another option is. Find out the thread size and look up what size the hole needs too be. start with a small bit. You have too be on center. then work your way up to the next size smaller than the chart size. you can the eather retap it or use a dental tool to pull the rest out. Just be carefull and take your time!!!! Then if you f$@^$@ it up you can get a Helicoil. I have some metric ones that are 8mm. I dont know if thats the size you need. If you need one let me know. -
Were do I send it?

dose the modified shift star work. Im going in there anyway so should I get one. Are they worth the money or are they like a boost bottle?

i had it tipped so the bars were on a small block of wood. Had no problem. abott 3 drops of collant were sitting in the cases from the tube between the water pump.{the one with the o ring on it} The water never mixed with the oil it just sat in this little channel and i mopped it up with a rag no problem.

Mant times I have had too pull clutch covers off the banshees. And you have that mess of water and oil falling all over the floor. So last weekend I could not believe I did not spill a drop. I changed my clutch. Tipped the shee on the side(turn your gas off) took off the radiator hose to the clutch cover and tied it up. Then took off the clutch cover and lost no oil. just a couple drops of water that I sooked up around the water pump. Put the new clutch in and put the covers back on and the hose. Tipped it on its wheels and away I went. Now I do suggest changing your oil with a new clutch. I just was in an area were I didnt want too spill oil all over the ground. And I had no more tranny oil left.

help need a good coil. GOT SAND? GOT COIL? Thanks Eric

ok coil is fixed and the motor is great with the new porting. Ran great at Glamis for two day last weekend. We wer duning and I lost all gears except fo 5, and 6. Made it to Olds then took the sand highway back to camp. I got the gears back at Comp. Must of been from riding the woops on the way back. It was like the shifter was stuck and would not move lower than 5 th Ok so I rode back to camp and decided dont fix it. Just ride it. I went to the drags and beat the thing to no end and had no problems. I run 2 quarts so the clutch rod is bathed in oil from past problems of welding the rod to the ball on another shee. So now what take a look see or keep riding. But why. Is something out of adjustment? with the pin that the shift triangle sits on. Help got 3 weeks and its back to Glamis. Also looking for another coil Eric

ok its a comon problem but! It will usually do this only after hard raceing or just on the gas for long times. Check this. Start you shee and open the radiator cap. WHEN ITS COLD NOT HOT! Rev it up and look at the anti freze. It should be moving at the top of the radiator when you reving it up. If not your pump is not working. You need to take off your clutch cover after draing everything. In the cover there is a gear that got to hot . Your impeller is probabbly fine but the gear will melt this little metal pin it rides on clean out the melted plastic from the bearing your impellar rides on and replace this gear and your good to go. fill it up and watch the water move in the radiator. Your shee is getting too hot and the radiator cap is doing its job. Mine use to do this and flow out the overflow. I left the drain run on the pipes like its supose too. This way you know something is wrong like the pump gear. Dont get me wrong if I run up olds at Glamis too many times in a row I will get a little but you can tell shee is hot and needs to sit a the bottom of the hill for a cold one Good luck Later Eric

I chased this problem and you might want to replace your coil or borrow one from a donor shee. Mine idled fine but missed once it was warmed up. Look up backfire this. This was me trying to go to the dunes last weekend. It ran great at Glamis! I read on another sight that the coils are known to do this? It might also be your stator(Nick if your reading this. Read it again?) I tried jetting a stator,Cdi. Stop switch. I even took it in and no one could find it. Also make shure your old slides are in the right hole and the little black choke tube is in there. Eric

It was the Coil. READ THAT AGAIN> READ THAT AGAIN NICK NICK YOUR IT. I tried a coil of a donor Banshee and that was it. Just bolted on the paddles and loaded it in the trailer. Its been a hard long road so thanks. My most thanks too the guy who said too gap at .013 and said it might be your coil going down. I didnt gap it to that but changed the coil so sweet. Anyone got a good coil to buy? Thanks nick?

Ok so do coils just die or do they fail slowly. How about a cdi when there bad it wont run right?
-
ok so i just put a different coil in I thought coils just went out they dont go bad. Anyone with info on that? The new coil is in and no backfire yet . Leaving in ten minutes to go riding with some guys. pocst Glamis ride. I am bringing a CDI with and more plugs jusst in case. Let you know soon Tag your it. vmaxup replied to banshee370's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
ok do you have the coil cdiand stator? how much for each or package deal how about all the wires ect anything electrical? -
ok but if you read the entire story i said i tried some carbs off another banshee so there goes your dirty carb. Not so dirty is it? SO here is my list of things new and things checked. New crank Rebore and weisco pistons 30 over Carbs cleaned and float level set idle screws at 1 1/2 270 mains at 5000 ft replaced stator assembly checked silencers and pipe from being clogged new plugs key works stop switch works reeds not broken slids in carbs in sinc little black tube is there COOMON GUYS You people talk so much about stroker cranks milled heads pipes and what color should I paint my frame. Who gives a crap what color your frame is or weather you can get your gold color of your rims. I need some answers to the problem. It seem latey no one on this sight really reads the problem. and the most comon answer is it must be your jetting. Now listen to that answer.Call NASA your the winner. You can figure out the space shuttle doors.Yaa! If it was my jetting or my Carbs are dirty then why do the carbs off another Banshee that runs great do the same thing???????????????????????????????????????????????????? hello Nasa anyone. Oh no I found the problem my air pressure was wrong on the frnt left tire. At this rate I should just find a paddle for the VMAX and run her at Glamis Dig deep someone??? When I do find it I will let you all know what it is and it wont be my air pressure
-
so you think my coil is going down? I thought when they go bad there no good and wont even work? Ok its 8:20 and on my way home to grab a cold one and a wrench and get at it. Youu are right though it idles fine but when it warms up it pops. Anyone else got some info?
-
find someone with a sand blaster. Blast them. Then what i did was istead of spending more time polishing them just put a sanding wheel in a drill press and move the rim around. You now have a brushed alluminum. If you dont blast them you will be sanding for ever unless you have a lathe to put them in and run sand paper against them. Ther aniodized you cant get it to just come of its impregnated in the alluminum

ok new news on this problem. I put a different stator from the donor banshee and it still pops when your on the throttle. Almost like its lean but its not. ok so i herd reeds a couple of times. I do remember the boysen reeds were alitttle open but not bad. Do they have to be totally closed and would this cause the problem. Can I flip them no new ones at the parts store and im running out of time for the Glamis trip. I supose i could go and get a 7000.00 4 stoke but that would suck and spent all my money on this thing so help if you can.
-
it runs really strong. But I think it has too be electrical. Wwhen it is idling you can hear one cylinder not firing at times then its back again or it will foul the plug out.
-
You all getting your panties in an uproar. I find allot of you dont read the message very clear. He said he milled the head 90. He probabby redid the squish its not hard if you have a lathe. I have a tool I made that you thread into the plug hole and spinn it on a lathe. Then you recut the squish into the head which in turn raises your compression.
