  1. ok I read the guy who had some backfire problems. I dont know if he fixed it but here is my problem. Ill tell you the whole story. And what ever the response is dont tell me i have bad fuel. or to clean my carbs. my mods are pipes, K&N,airbox cover removed,torus diconnected, twist throttle, idle screws,ebrake removed and wiring. I was at Glamis for Halloween road the first day great. Plugs were cinimon brown. 2nd day while riding I herd a small pop once and a while. I stoped and checked my plugs to see if I was runing lean. Cinimon brown still. rode back to camp found out the boost bottle ripped a boot on the left side. Ok so new boots and it still backfires. So I put bigger jets in and cleaned the carbs like all day tried everything. got madd and road it anyway. We wont get into the crash and burn in a witches eye that night. Anyway.Got home and tried a bunch of stuff. So finally I figured I must have a stuck ring. So I pulled the cylinders off no stuck ring. So I replaced the rings. Did an air leak down test. It held 5 pounds for a hlf hr.So I start it up and it still dose it. I let it run idleing for a while and would crack the throttle. Then one time I cracked the throttle and the crank let loose. Same side as the riped boot. S o I figure that rodd was getting ready to go and that was my problem. Noddaaaaaaaaaaa! Rebuilt crank,New seals gaskets,milled the head and since the guy was boring it . he ported it. You know if it dont run maybe going faster will help.so 1grand later and all fixe right Naddaaaaaaaa! So last night we got the new motor together and installed it in like 3 hrs. Record time! At 10:30 at night I was ripping up and down the street to try it out. Ran great and that porting really works great.Really fast. So all fixed right Nadaaaaa!! Got out of work early Fr. Decided to put some new brakes on the old work truck.Then thought I would rip around on the shee again. Hard time starting now. Then its back to backfire. It was like theres an elf in the garage when i leave the house. Ok so i find out after swaping carbs from another banshee and pulled my silencers apart to see if there clogged there not. That a plug is bad, I put in a new plug and off we go. I get back and start adjusting my idle screws and noticed were back to running on one cylinder other side now. Only one pipe is hot. I check for spark on and another bad plug on the other side. Sso I dig around in some old jet ski stuff and find a Br8es and a B8es. Cleaned them up and threw them in. All good runs great. Then backfire is back again damn elf. So anyone have an answer. It cant just be plugs fom the start at Glamis. why is it good than bad. Why am I now fowling plugs all the time. There a nice cinnimon brown. It cant be the Carbs tried two sets. It has to be electrical. I think? Stator bad? Coil Bad? cdi Bad? I give up! Ive never fowled ouut a plug on a banshee of even herd of anyone else fowling a plug on one.. 4 stroke looks pretty good about now. Leaving for Glamis in 4 days help. And no the air in the tires is fine

  3. SSSSO thats it? Thats your fix? Give me a break I was hoping to find out why mine is doing thhe same. The back firing is killing me I have swopt carbs from another banshee rebuilt the motor. anyone else

  6. Has any one used Marvin Shaw Shocks on ther Shee. There is no spring just nitrogen I think. The price was only 360.00 for the front. They look cool but do they work. I know some guys with rails that have them and they work very well. What do you think? He lives in Yarnel AZ
  7. actually the motor just got put back together from a clutch problem. It did this before the rebuild and still dose it. It has new gas and plugs.

  9. Ok my shee runs great and I have rebuilt motors and redune many peoples Carbs. But I have this one 1996. I cant figure out. Float height is good air srew at 1 1/2 and 360 jets for Glamis. Problem If it sits for a day you cant start it no matter what. One squirt of starting fluid and it will start on the first kick and stay running, It will idle by itself all day and run great after that. You let it sit for a day and no way no start. SO easy fix find a can off starting fluid to fit in your six pack rack. So one less beer for the trip but you make it back too camp? Any ideas? I really need that extra beer at the drag or comp.
  10. Ok Ive had a problem with the rod and ball welding together, And had as a discusion for Help my clutch for Glamis. The Shee runs great and no problems yet. Iwas reading some other discussions and again someone mentioned the TZ bearing for 40bucks. What is it and were do I get it? I am currently running 2 quarts of oil . No problems yet
  11. I tried to get wiesco rings only and have a hard time finding them on line. Rockymountain and dennis kirk only sell kits with pistons. So I called wiesco and you can buy them direct to your door. They also sold me Cometic gasket set. It was here in 2 days no problem.

  13. I will put extra oil in. But the real question is I have never herd of this before. Has it happened to many others. I just trying to rule out a mechanical problem Im not seeing. If this is the nature of the beast that great. And what is this kit from Tdr What dose it do? Cant fin it. What is Tdr?
  14. ok so more oil is better. but why is it this machine a 96 and my 98 is fine. The part that sucks is you have to split the cases to get the the rod out. So Wht just this machine. And if its a common problem why are you the only one responding
  15. I have a problem with the rod that goes thru the clutch it keeps welding itself to the stell ball and adjuster. Anyone ever here of this? Help. Also I have plenty of oil in there.
  16. Ok big problem I had to take apart the cases to get the rod out of the cases, The ball adjuster and rod were all welded together. I thought it was low on oil or what ever. I replaced everything and it ran great at Glamis fo 2 days. I then lost the clutch again. Everything was welded again. So I have all my new parts istalled but scared it will happen again. Anyone got some info for me Eric
