  1. I prefer the Toomey's, they have a great reputation and they're customer support is great. I've had the T-5's for about 5yrs and recently went with the T-6's. Both are great pipes. Some will say that the 6's aren't good for a modified engine but I love mine.
  2. If you are just honing them (no deep scratches) the go to an auto parts store and buy a hone for a drill and do it yourself. Use some oil on the cylinder and hone. They are about $25-30.
  3. Merry Christmas to all of you, hope that you got all the SHEE parts you asked for!
  4. I have been using REDLINE 2-stroke racing oil in my premix for about 7 yrs. now and have never had a problem. I started using REDLINE LIGHTWEIGHT SHOCKPROOF gear oil for the trans and have been very happy with it also. I haven't used the Castor so I couldn't say about it.
  5. I think either one is a good choice, I've been very happy w/toomey but I hear a lot of good things about CPI, A friend bought a set and loves them.
  6. If you are into big air, get the 8" rims. They give you more tire to cushion the landings. The 10" rims I had were flatspotted all over cause they only had about 2" of sidewall-rim.
  7. Your welcome, and I hope you find the problem!
  8. Just go to your local dealer and he can find it on microfiche. I tried to find it in my service manual but doesn't have the specs.
  9. Do a plug check after you ride it, you should probably be a little higher but if plug doesn't look too lean then you should be OK.
  10. I had one about 2-years ago and it broke in the first race I tried it at, they sent me another and it broke, then they sent me one that was "updated", it broke in 2 weeks! I really didn't notice a difference anyway so I got my money back.
  11. So what are you asking?
  12. I always remove them when I put a new clutch in a banshee that has them, They are supposed to reduce clutch chatter but I have never noticed it in mine.
  13. You heard right, big waste of money!
  14. I bought a set of +1 A-arms from Eyeball Engineering for about $470-500 a few years ago and still look new. I like the Lonestar Axcaliber axles just because they warranty them for life.
  15. I can understand his logic, more oil = less friction= more power. But I am not sure if the engine will understand it! I personaly think 50:1 is a little too lean, I run 32:1-40:1 but that's just my preference. I don't think more oil and richening the jetting will gain anything but maybe a longer lasting engine.
  16. Why don't you replace the reeds on the V-forces? They are a little expensive but well worth it. $80-100
  17. Yeah, I completely cut out all the underside of the lid, about 8 vents on lid 2 on each side of box and 3 on the back, and as with any piped shee take that stupid snorkel off! I tried to run my snorkel at the dunes in Michigan once to keep the sand out and it ran like crap!
  18. Just pay attention when you take it apart, main on the bottom in float bowl, pilot under the splash guard. After you have done this a few times it's simple. Most of us have probably done this enough we could do it in our sleep, cause most pipe companies don't give you jetting specs so it's trial and error until you get it right.
  19. Make sure your clutch arm is aligned with the arrow on the case. If it's off adjust it with the nut on the pressure plate. Make sure cable is free, all I can think of.
  20. I had a DS with a pipe and jetting give me a run for the first 50-70ft and I have some mods! Thank god it was a 300ft race so I could wind her up! I don't like DS's because they are too big and ugly but you have to admit, they have some power. I can see how a stock shee got beat.
  21. I can tell you know what you're doing but everyone makes mistakes, so here is the question that may make me sound like an idiot but have you checked to make sure that the lazy cylinder doesn't have the piston in backwards? I have seen this before after my girlfriend rebuilt her's. She was so prood of herself and when she rode it one side ran like@#%! I helped her take it apart again and found she put the exhaust end in backwards. Just a suggestion cause it sounds like everything else you have double checked.
  22. I usually mix the gas at 20:1 for the first two tanks and vary the throttle alot. Don't run at the same speed for a long time. After that find a good brand of oil to use (I like redline) and mix it at 32:1 or 40:1 and let her EAT! Also check all the bolts after you ride a time or two, they tend to loosen up sometimes when new.
  23. You should be running at least 280 mains, about 3rd notch from pointed end of the needle and about 2 turns out on the air screw. This is only approximate for your mods, so don't hate me if it's not perfect!
  24. TCS (total control suspension) did the setup and valving on mine and they did a great job! I highly recomend them! They took the time to listen to me about how I ride, my weight, and what kind of air I get at the local moto tracks. Best $$ I spent on my shee!
  25. If you're not running a higher compression than stock high octane fuel is a waste of your money. I had a friend that thought race gas = more power so we filled up two stock banshees at the local moto shop and dragged each other and switched machines so it wouldn't be a rider issue and they were almost dead even everytime! One just smelled better....aahhh, love that smell!
