  2. is this guy serious? ummm, no, I ain't serious
  3. Beer is great! I'll go grab one or a few and join you guys.
  4. I have a habit of not gettin my ass out of bed on my days off. I'll be wide awake first thing in the moring and will just lay there wasting the day. One thing I notice that bugs me is that I have to place things in certain pockets...... always put my wallet in the right rear, keys in the left front, change & pens in right front and leave the left rear empty for other things such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
  5. Thanks for the info guys. Gonna do some more investigating and figure what's goin on. I'd rather be riding than rebuilding this summer!
  6. Hey guys, need a little help or an idea. Haven't been on the shee in about two weeks and hopped on her tonight for a quick ride and nothin. Last time I was out riding it ran great. It has always started with a kick or two. I went through the regular routine....checked gas, turned on gas, checked other fluids, turned on kill switch and key. Kicked her over a few times first with no choke then with choke and nothin. Walked away for a bit and then tried a few minutes later. I pulled the plugs (set has been in there a while but jetting may be a tick on the rich side from my observations) and threw in some new ones....no change. Checked for spark and there is plenty of that. I did do a compression test (wide open throttle) a few weeks ago with two different gauges and was not happy with the results 60psi exactly on each cylinder. Same thing tonight when I did it. This is also where I'm confused cuz it ran and started fine many times between now and when I did my mods. Over the winter I pulled the head and had it shaved .030" and reinstalled it with a new head gasket. Right away I could feel the results in the kicker and even now it feels the same. At the same time I installed a set of new PTR mid range pipes and silencers, modded the airlid and rejetted. I'm very pleased with the increased power and performance and it so much better than stock! But the compression has me thinking.... At only 60psi the thing should not run good at all if at all. Could the compression thing be with the rings or the reeds???? Its a 2002 with an untouched motor other than what I mentioned above. I believe if it started right now it would run great.....maybe I flooded it . But I still would like to know what's up with my compression results. Any thoughts or suggestions from you guys will be greatly aprreciated.
  7. Looks like you guys have some great places to ride. Great action pics and very nice scenery to boot! Keep 'em comin!
  8. My dad bolted a bucket seat from a dodge caravan (I think) to our riding lawn mower. Still has the armrests....not too bad, comfy.
  9. Hey guys, it's long but pretty damn amusing! getting out of speeding tickets
  10. I'd offer to take that Yamalube off yer hands but I made the decision to switch to Amsoil when and if I ever get back to riding........damn school
  11. Very good point. As far as gas prices goes, I'd like to distill my own alcohol for my rides and myself quote by Homer Simpson: "one for you, one for me"
  12. Wow man, that's a crazy story! Good to hear you'll get better and be sure to get all the sand out
  13. Those are some big honkin tires dude and if I were lookin for a super swamper I wouldn't be all too concerned about mileage. Maybe check out Summit Racing or Tire Rack
  14. Hell yeah, that's the only way to live! Well, for now I guess
  15. Increasing your compression/ shaving your head and advancing your timing is about one of the only ways to gain power without changing your fuel consumption. Increasing your compression gives you more complete combustion by raising the thermal efficiency. Also, advancing your timing you are getting more complete combustion without comsuming more fuel. oh yeah, check out this, once I get the cash flow I will most likely do this:Dial-A-Jet
  16. I have to disagree with the location of the Idle Air Control on a GM. IAC is located in the throttle body or in your case the throttle bodies. If it is your IAC then take it out and check it over, clean and go from there. Then check for a vacuum leak(s), throttle body base gasket, intake gasket, vacuum line........ If you end up dumping money into fixing the cross-fire setup don't bother!!! Put your money towards a good intake and a 4barrel carb. The cross-fires are not known for their performance!! I have an 82 Camaro that had a small block but now has a big block. I still have the small block Edlebrock Perfomer intake if you are interested. (not trying to rope into something...just letting you know) good luck and keep the Chevy runnin
  17. uh oh! Banshee not make up a hill!!! Better throw some tires on her along with a set of pipes!
  18. Bet that pussy's dryer than a mouth full of cotton.
  19. Beer has been the only thing keeping me from losing my mind in school. Why not? Beast is only $8.50 a case
  20. I'd buy Hank Williams Jr.'s wax figure to keep watch over my shee in the garage. Put a cap gun in his hand and wouldn't have to pay him squat.
  21. I have next week then one final the following week and I'm done with school for good! Just have to do a co-op to get a piece of paper saying I did alot of homework!
  22. Those portable dynos are pretty cool. They use 'em on go-karts, sleds, jet skis, quads... Instead of taking the motor out and hooking up to a test stand with a water brake, they just hook the water brake up to a drive axle or output shaft. I would think they are "trustable" seeing they are the same thing only portable. As long as the guy knows what he is doin and takes care of his equipment you should get good results.
