  1. If you placed the studs evenly all the way around the tread it seems to me that it shouldn't cause a problem. Could it possibly be something else like the tire's bead not seating all the way??? May something inside the tire itself.....water or a chunk of dirt?
  2. I'm relatively new to the Banshee but I have done research on the Banshee engine and I feel I have a good idea on the basics of the engine(2-strokes)....you need the intake windows in the pistons!!! Size, shape, position...not sure about that. When it comes to 2-strokes, you need forced induction! This can be accomplished by supercharging, turbocharging or positive crankcase pressure. The Banshee, like most other 2-stroke recreational vehicles use positive crankcase pressure to get the air/fule mixture into the cylinders. Its cheap and easy.... but effective The intake windows in the Banshee engine's pistons allow the air/fuel mixture to enter the crankcase where it lubes vital engine components, but mostly the intake charge is sucked when the piston is top dead center (negative pressure). The intake windows in the pistons are the only way for the air/fuel mixture to enter the engine. When the piston travels down the cylinder it will compress air/fuel mixture (volume of crankcase decreases/positive pressure) pushing it through the transfer ports into the cylinder. Sorry if my explanation is crude, but the intake windows in the pistons are key to the engine operation. Without 'em, I don't think it would run or if it did, probably wouldn't run good at all!!!
  3. I maybe interested in the HQ calender. Do we get any previews?? I like shees and hot babes with very little on!

    1/4 Time

When you guys run the 1/4 mile, you must be wound out well before the finish line, right? I guess what I am thinking is that gearing for a shee is very low compared to a street car and with higher gearing in the shee your times would be quicker with a higher top speed if low end is not compromize. You guys that race the 1/4 mile, what have you done for gearing if any. Just curious cuz my shee is stock and I ride trails mostly.
  5. Whenever somebody asks what I'm doin or what I've been up to or whatever, I just respond, "stuff"! "stuff" can answer a lot of other questions too.
  6. People that dis Banshees and 2-strokes piss me off. Driving also erks me....I'm just gonna ride the shee on trails and back roads to where ever I go! Damn, I wish.
  7. Once the stars and weird buzzing sound went away, all I wanted to do was hug my Banshee and tell it that everyhting would be all right. Too bad trees don't break away like light poles do. Helmets are a good thing!
  8. I'm from Binghamton, NY and I am currently goin to school in Rochester.
  9. 1988 4x4 Silverado that will have a donor motor from my Camaro....400 hp should haul my shee around just fine.
  10. I have a completely stock 2002 in which I probably do the same riding you do. I plan on buying Paul Turner mids after my x-mas shopping. Seems to me that everyone would agree that PTR mids are a good pipe for trail riding. I also like to tear up my lawn...be even more fun with better pipes Duncan Racing: PTR mids
  11. Agreed raxen, after taking thermodynamics and heat transfer, you reminded me alot of what I learned!! Polishing a water cooled engine will have no effect of the operating temperature. It does look badass.
  12. Powder coat is also an idea depending on what you wanna do with yer pipes, Eastwood makes a high temp powder coat for exhaust systems now. Thinkin I may go with this stuff for my pipes when I can finally get them! Eastwood Company
  13. Hey rebel, I'm in Rochester for school and I'm gonna get a set of pipes soon. I'm gonna get my pipes powdercoated w/ the high temp stuff or get 'em ceramic coated. I'll let ya know if I get 'em powdercoated cuz I may be able to have them done for cheap!! Let ya know where and for how much p.s. where abouts in Rochester are ya? I brought my shee with me to work on this winter.
  14. turn off gravity, or mess with that physics thingy
  15. Hey mom...dad?? I kinda got a loan on my Banshee. Can you pay that off and get some pipes while yer at it! lol, yeah right!! I have to work for my shee.
  16. Hey guys, I can actually use some of my college education towards this topic. I took a class on Internal Combustion Engines and switching to a higher octane will give you very little or no performance gains. Octane is the part of gasoline that resists ignition. When you increase compression on an engine you increase the pressure and temperature of the air-fuel mixture. If the temperature of an air-fuel mixture is raised high enough, the mixture can ignite without a spark plug. This is very bad for gas engines! Higher octane is used to prevent pre-ignition. Gasolines with different octane ratings will produce about the same amout of heat during combustion. This means no big change in power output. On the other hand, higher octane gas is more refined. Therefore, it will burn cleaner and of course......smells much better!! I run 93 in my stock banshee and it smells way better than the cheap stuff.
  17. I see the paul turner mids are thumbs up with you guys....can't wait to get 'em!! Thanks again! Aron
  18. Thanks for the input guys. I'm pretty well set on buying the Paul Turner mids and have checked out Duncan Racing. Are there any other reputable places to buy these pipes??? Also, I see you can have 'em chromed, triple chromed or plain. I trail ride, what do you guys recommend? Does chrome stand up to mud, rocks and other crud well? Aron
  19. Hey guys, been reading posts here for a bit and joined up.....cool and helpful site!! Bought my first Banshee this last June and absolutely love it. It is a 2002 that has not been touched. I mostly trail ride and I'd like to get a set of Paul Turner mid range pipes. I'd appreciate it if you guys could send some info my way as to where I should get them and any other things to consider when replacing pipes. Thanks!
