I did this a few times with my Camaro....when I first got it. First time trying to figure out tuning a carb and ended up fouling a few plugs. I sandblasted them but they never really seemed to run all that good. For how cheap they are, I think it is worth replacing them. ...just my experience

Gasoline 2-strokes are pretty dirty. Typically weedwackers, snowmobiles, dirtbikes, quads...require mixing oil with the gas (premix or oil injection) which dumps loads of hydrocarbons into the air...which are not good. Also, a lot of unburnt gas is passed through the cylinder and blown out of the tail pipe which is another large source of hydrocarbons. If you look at the big picture the 2-strokes today don't even compare to the amount of pollution given off by car, trucks, heavy equipment, factories, coal burning power plants, and list can go on...... My 1988 Silverado 4x4 is my daily driver and gets the same gas mileage as a 1998 Silverado....sure not gonna drop that off to the scrap yard. But I do understand your point...there are exceptions. This is why there are state inspections and really for the most part you don't see many '90 and prior vehicles on the road, at least where I live. As SyNtAxx listed, there is plenty room for improvement and the tree huggers should back off the 2-strokes IMO.

I was in your shoes about almost a year ago. Never rode much and only been on a few friends quads. I looked around and found this site.....been an excellent source of info and convinced me to buy a shee. Really you should look around and see what will fit your riding style. Good thing about the Banshee is that there are many ways to mod it to suit your needs. I bought a stock 2002 last June and rode it this summer and fall. I love it and don't worry about it being too fast cuz you will get used to it. You being 140lbs will make a difference compared to someone who is of greater mass. Who's gonna pull away quicker...you or Oprah on the same machine?? Black is nice and for 2004 they have completely black special edition....just check out Yamaha's site.

I'm in my senior year and have hit plenty of bumps in the road. College is tough and does suck big hairy balls, but hang in there and don't put yourself down! Don't worry about taking a class over...everybody struggles at some point. Keep focused and listen to these other guys, school comes before chics, booze even the 'shee What kind of truck do you have...a Bronco? Where is the clunk comin from and what does it sound like? when you put it gear? when it shifts? turns? hits a bump?

Somethin similar happened after mounting a new pair of maxxis all-traks. Got 'em on and had to go for a ride. Came to a turn where I usually nailed it in 2nd, instead of powersliding/ripping the stockers, the fronts no longer made contact which meant poor steering Ended up bailing off the shee just as it decided to check out a tree.....I biffed, glad to be wearing a helmet!! Shee ended up with slightly tweaked handlebars, a bent foot peg and plastic stress marks for the record. Good to know yer alright and that the shee survived!

There are just some things I dont want to know about let alone be reminded of. By the way, I can never eat another hot dog that has been in the microwave too long now....that spliting and ripping thing If I were to ever corss paths with the puke that did that to his wang I wouldn't think twice about takin a dump in his left eyeball!
