  1. hey guys, I was there on st. pattys day saturday. at olds anyone see a real fast honda 450 w/gray plastics and blue frame? cuz' he whooped my ass, just curious what he was running......1st time beat by a four stroke, and it was bad, I am hoping he had a turbo or some other excuse....for me losing.......I didn't see any bikes I recognized all weekend,
  2. did you by chance win that $100 in a spelling bee? how about lightend flywheel, and an adjustable stator plate, maybe have enough left over to shave your head .030".....all very noticeable gains in my opinion
  3. thanks fellas, came together very smoothly, seems to run well, ended up w/330 mains, but I only have paddles so I have to wait til the 25th to try it out and see how it runs.....I'll let you know. I ended up going tight as I could w/1/4 " ratchet.....no torque...feels better.....if I beat my brother and uncle I will release the name of the fella that did my porting, until then it's a secret
  4. okay I have a stock crank and 65 pistons.....what is my overall displacement? my buddy has stock bore and a 4mm crank who is bigger? if I add a 4mm crank what will my displacement be?
  5. sounds like you are on the right track, put 260's in it and ride the wheels off it.....I had a similar setup as yours years ago, w/no air box and fattys at sea-level, I had 280's and plug read was fat....hope this helps
  6. hey got my jugs back last night, will be putting them back o ntoday, have everything except wrist pin bearings, can I re-use my stock ones? wahat are the torque specs for the barrels and the head? also w/stock carbs and big porting where is a good starting point for jetting? I am thinking 320 mains? toomey t-5 k&n clamp ons "mock" trinity stage IV porting +8 timing head milled .030" lightened flywheel sea-level redline 50:1 w/91 octane and octane booster
  7. I run the 23" holeshot in front and 22" in rear down in BAJA w/15-41 gearing....Paul turner mid pipes, I swear it will do a hundred miles per hour setup like this......(here come the arguments, w/their fancy calculators, and theories) looks tough too! do it....
  8. hey guys, running works dual rate w/reservoirs at 5000 feet on plus two arms, what kind of pressures should I have.......it's 0 right now......probably due for seals, but since I get nitrogen free I want to try charging them first. somebody told me 250 psi? sounds like a bunch anyone know for sure? every time I call Works they are busy or don't answer.
  9. tell me if I'm wrong, but if you install two 55 watt bulbs, it should only draw 110 watts total right? reguardless of total output from your stator, it should only take what is necessary? or do I actually have a problem w/stator?
  10. just installed ricky stator 200, and fired it up, five minutes later both bulbs burnt out? what gives?
  11. thay have a website for guys like you: raceKIAs.com j/k I once ran a desert race on the stock tank and came across the finish line (65 miles) on fumes....I was on reserve last 15-20 miles. believe it or not. don't care. setup was: paul turner mids, stock carbs clamp on filters (K&N) stock silencers, 260 mains, and 15-41 gearing. ran wide open throttle, most of the way.oh yeah eliminated TORS, which hurt when a slide hung up going into a 90 degree turn.....still pinned when I didn't want to be....but now I run the Clarke 5.5 gallon tank and don't worry about it. good luck.
  12. okay pwks are in the mail, anyone looking for some mikunis?
  13. great info, parts are coming, I will keep you posted, anyone else think we should junk the Mikunis (sell on E-bay) and buy some Keihn air stryker 35mmm carbs?
  14. thanks sounds like you really know what you are talking about, these dump valves, can I get them at my local Yamaha dealer or is there a website or something? for needles and jets? and stuff?
  15. oh yeah, more info, it has 170 psi at 5000 feet, so if you do the math: a whole lot+ sea-level = a whole lot more psi 200? maybe thanks for any help....
  16. mains are usually hit or miss, but fairly easy to see results....any ideas on pilots, needles (brand, style, clip etc.)thanks we're getting there just so damn slowly
  17. okay, we ran it w/270 mains, and it was blubberin bad, thinking maybe 250? what do you think? heard there is a lot of differnt needle options w/these carbs
  18. I find it hard to believe no one is running this type setup, or close, just looking for ballpark, how 'bout sea-level? anyone running same carbs w/different setup?
  19. hey, my buddy, just built this bike with 4mm stroker, stock bore, drag port, v-force 3, CPI inframes, 34 mm flat slide Mikuni Carbs clamp on filters 7 degrees advance 19 cc domes, coolhead....where is a good starting point for the jetting? thanks, oh yeah 5,000 feet 80 degrees
  20. well, does anyone know how to tell the difference between v-force 1 +2....I thought I had v-force 2's but after looking at them, they only say v-force? they are also a gray in color?
  21. just a guess, v-force 3 reeds will not work in my v-force 2 cages
  22. hey, I sucked a reed, on left cylinder, must be time to freshen up my reeds.......where is a good place to find replacement reeds for v-force 2 cages, I already tried rockymountain atv, and mototassinari. com?
  23. I have had them for a few years (since they were introduced) and thay look new, but to be fair, I use them about once a year and put about one hundred miles on them, along the same course as the Baja 1000, so maybe 4-500 miles on them and look great.....perform awesome and no flats yet.
  24. I recently won an auction for a great looking polished billet aluminum park brake blockoff plate made by LSR lonestar racing, after almost a month of waiting, and having to contact the seller I finally got a package today, but when I opened it inside was a "shoddy" moose block off plate. I paid top dollar, and feel I was deceived, I E-mailed the seller tonight to give him a chance to redeem himself but if he does not respond/fix it, I will be happy to give out his screen name/E-bay name. I know it was only twenty bucks or whatever, but I am pissed...if I wanted a moose plate I could have bought one for like five bucks or whatever........
