camatv replied to bigblockbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
can i get some pics of those cylinders... most time if i want to buy somethign off the internet i like to see pictures of the item now mostly thats bigger items freebee;s well hell here is my address.. i also have a bunch of those junk ass oem clamps i prefer the thiner clamps like the pictures posted. the "import" clamps i believe are also called fuel injection clamps but i have only gotten them in smaller ones for fuel lines on small engine stuff and my automotive stuff.. might have to look into t he bigger ones thats a good idear... -
i have seen 3 K+T cubs everyone looked differnt most seemed very simple in the work done and the port numbers didnt change much port #'s on a cub are pretty spot on anyways,.,. then there was the NOS light rider cub that had some material gone very thin in the transfers and trans tunnel... i have seen some pretty sweet idears with stock cylinders and what was done to them and in all honetly in my mind i felt some of it was art> I'LL see if i can find the pictures..

yea i got tired of the plug tops poping off on the dunes from the caps falling out. i even used these specail crimping pliers for them then i found the solid cap options SWEET> yea if you go into o'reillys and ask for a b8evix they will look at you funny ( unless you know the people really well like mee) thats what i like about that lil site you can hit it up with your number get the plug you want to use and then give them the lil 4 digit "stock" number for the plug and ta da your riding..

whats the "deal" with the "extreme's what were they sapposed to do?? how did they do that and what the heck happend to them that they broke so bad so fast? i'm not sure how you would guarantee shift forks not to be damaged from backloading unless the gear ratcheted on the shaft.. even the "duneable" i have eats shift forks if not used more like a std override. i understand the "duneable" and its a great idear. previously there were and still are some people that do overrides. tyson, port majic? Mccoy ( i think) K+T, A+S, not sure of others and i'm not sure how many are just using the same guy to do them.. i personally have a roy clarke, a tyson, a wcr and an VERY old tyson 2-5. the RC trans has been by far the nicest one of them all too bad he quit doing them. 130 extreme's!!! WOW they are making BANK! 130x 450ish= 58,500 bucks

bored on a 20 mill cougar WOW>. the 4 mill 115 rod is the most popular using the spacer plate makes the transfer ports all wacko on port timing and honestly i dont know how they even run worth a shit. the proper way IS to use correct domes, and port the cyl's for the crank combo. in all reality porting for a 350cc and a 115 rod non spacer 4 mill will be actually very similar. they vary buy just a few degree's/ BUT in all reality its best to build the motor as a whole.. do you have a billet basket? do you have a good clutch? what other parts might you need? ( head for the custom domes possibly iusing the stock head adn have it cut, not that good of a choice really), reeds if yours are stock and pipes what kind of power are you wanting? down low or middle or all top end screamer>>/ all these things you REALLY need to think about and then decide on what you want out of it.. used parts if bought right are a decent option also. its sometimes an easy way to try differnt stuff out and not pay an arm and a leg for thme.

i have ran cr250 reed sin my cheetas for many years with no issue's/ they should last a LOT longer than 20 trips up the hill thats crazy,.,.

My axle/swing arm aren't from a banshee! what are they?
camatv replied to coldsmoke's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
the carriers i BELIEVE are differnt sizes but i think most have gone to a same size carrier BUT long time ago they used diff carriers in diff swingarms.. you should measure everything and then call somone like JJ+A OR LSR that builds multiple swingarm, carrier combo's -

dang what a JERK why dont you just go down to the hardware store and buy some good lord get off the computer and get off your ass and go SEE what YOU can find.. clamps are EASY to get.. those look lik IDEAL brand clamps my local ACE hardware has a whole stack of them.. they also have nifty metric bolts.. -
oh and here is another tip no matter what ngk plug you are going to use try to get the NON removeable TIP i know it has happend to me that lil stupid tip unscrews and get stuck in the stinking cap... if i can avoid it i try to .. most any parts store that sells ngk can get the plugs for you i use o'reilly's they use the stock numbers use NGK's site to convert it and then give them the 4 digit number for them. http://www.ngk.com/more_info.asp?AAIA=&pid=3449

the tenny electrode IX plugs actually make the spark EASIER on the ignition on "weak" ignition systems.. its easier for the coil to jump the gap at higher rpm loads and fuels with those plugs... thats straight from NGK. thats why i likee them lil motors that like to REV will like a hot ignition and an irridum plug ( nology/ dyna CDI) might be why they didnt break up on top witht he larger box gap (.23?) but i would still gap them down to 18 just to be sure...

85 is flying if the 60 was good. track frame !!
-
dang a full 1-4 for that cheap... is it modded to your trans ? even that sounds cheap for a WCR i think some of the issue's with those transs's were from possible releasing a trans without good testing... i have a 2-5 dunealbe and have installed WCR's they are a decent trans just need a lil clean up on the drum ( not micro polished) and they worked well. i'd like to see the micro polished drum,.. looks cool for sure.

oh boy here we go.. the other option is to buy a yfz 450 sell the motor out of it install your banshee motor. ta da!! you end up with a light modern frame and the reliabilty and dependability of the banshee motor yamaha SHOLD have done this and rereleased teh banshee. they would sell them easily i believe
-
kenda klaw's worked well for me. i would run them backwards ( soft) where we ride there is a lot of mix. stock yfz450 rears seemed to be in the 70 buck each range.. i'd never spend 100 bucks each tire just cause it has a dudes name on it.
-
all gasketsa re pretty good quality some builds need different thickness base gaskets for bla bla bla cometic is my first choice, any base gasket that has a metal former NOT paper i have had issue's with paper in the past.
-
yes i do
-
i'll cover shipping... and just ground shipping.. no next day air and stuff them in a flat rate box is fine with me.
-
yep thats why they are being sold on ebay by the place that made them for the best possible bid..
