Silver Lake - Opening Weekend - Who's Going?
Hockey390 replied to Brian G's topic in Riding and Events Forum
people tear you up without them though dont they? -
thats quite a difference from 25 to 65... what bore are you on?
-
is 25 standard? funny thing is, the pistons look pretty damn close, but the left side has a bunch of little holes in the dome (not bad enough to hurt it) that is the side without the writing on the piston..maybe it just is corroded on that side. who knows..
-
Quick question all, I just had my head off and there is a 25 imprinted in the top of my piston.. Only the right one though. Does that mean anything? It doesnt say it on the other one.

I will see what I can do! I really want to go, only problem is I dont have paddles.. I'm thinking of buying them but ive never been on the dunes before, and if I dont go enough I dont want to spend the money if they wont be used. ANyone going that has a spare set I could use for the weekend? Or will my maxxis razr's work.? I know people that go in regular tires, i know they dont work the same, but will they make my riding crappy? -

-
I just put them on again after I had them off to polish and work on the top end.. Put em on and its still in the same spot. The springs arent doing it because it hits it before i have the springs on. Maybe the silencer is wrong...Not sure how Any ideas? I'm getting my new digi cam this week, and this weekend I'm going to take a CRAP load of pictures so I will make sure to get a good one of my pipe and silencer positions adn then maybe you will see something... Until then, any tips are nice.

word, bring on this twin 350, 700 CC MONSTER!!! sorry, had to say it...that would be freakin flyin... put in that trinity 535 CC 10 mm stroker and give her a whoppin 1070 CC, wow...that would be fun to ride..
-
I just noticed today when I put my pipes back on that they dont rub the frame, the left side pipe is actually touching the head.. Any new ideas?
-
Oh trust me, I've got plenty o'tools... Since I started working on my shee (last year) I've probably spent close to $300 in tools alone. Thats not easy when your making $6/hour and going to school so you can only work 20 hours a week.. I have the flywheel puller if thats the tool you are talking about, and the way that I got the flywheel nut off before was by taking a large pipe wrench and putting at on that circular piece of the flywheel (not the important part) and then putting another wrench with a 2 foot torque arm and pushing on each.. That was tough, but I sure wish I had an impact wrench.. Maybe someone on here will donate one to my sanity fund..
-
Any leaniancy on the price? If not, I wont bother making my offer.
-
damnit...thats not what I wanted to hear.. I dont have an impact wrench. The reason it was a bitch to get off was because I dont have an impact wrench, and considered buying one... WHICH I am going to do eventually, just dont have the cash.. This whole project is making me mad, I want to ride and it seems like everytime I get a full day to work on it I spend 3/4 of the time just trying to get all the S*** I need to fix it!!
-
Has anyone ever heard of this company?? They have some nice things I want to buy, but I can never get ahold of them.. They have a phone number but no one answers, and they dont reply to emails. Anyone ever bought anything from them??? I dont want to buy anything just for the reason that they arent easy to get ahold of, but you would think that if their site was a scam, they would at least reply and tell you where to send the money! www.superiorsleeve.com Check it out.

You say he might have spent it on his car... I'm sure taking that would get his ass movin. But then again how easy is it to take a car..? Weigh out your options. I know that if I had a problem with the wifes kid, I wouldnt that ruin our marrage, unless it wasnt working out in the first place. That blaster isnt worth crap, dont mess with it, if you take that, then he will feel he doesnt owe you money for it, when truthfully, you just paid for him to f*ck something ELSE up.
-
ya, i have an 87 that got something in the clutch cable... I would pull it and it would just stay open.. thats no good when your trying to ride I keep a cable in my toolbox now, just in case.

Hey, I just got my head milled and my flywheel lightened.. I know there are certain guidelines to follow when putting the head on, correct me if I'm wrong but go in order on the bolts, and 21 ft/lbs of torque?? As for the flywheel, I know it was an absolute b**** to get it off, so is there anything special I have to do when putting it on?? I tightened the bolt on it to the best of my ability (using 1 hand to hold the flywheel and 1 to tighten) and if i remove the bolt I can pull the flywheel off by hand..? Didnt think that would be possible because you need a tool to break the magnetic bond, so is there something I'm doing wrong? Thats pretty much it, but if you have any tips for me they are welcome. Also do I need to change jetting for the .020 milled head?? My quads mods are listed in my sig. below, tell me if I need to change the jets. Oh one last thing, when I removed the head it seemed like there was a felt gasket on there or something that had fuzz on it? (maybe just grown on there) but do I need to scrape it off or anything? I bought a new gasket to put on and dont want that crap on there unless it NEEDS to be.. Wish me luck, I will get some pics today of her, hopefully the sun will poke out!

I have a buyer for $400 + sh, but he cant buy it for another month or so... If you can purchase before then its yours.. Any takers?
-
What else does it have, list the extras. Pics would be nice.
-
I just figure hey, if your gonna pay $20 for something...Why not get a crap load of very useful parts with it for no extra? Checkster... Thats one hell of a price.
-
Hey all, I just wanted to let you all know something that will save you some cash if you get your head milled. You will need to replace your gasket after removing your head, and if you go to the stealership it will run you (what I paid) $21.31. Of course that depends on their mark up and whatnot, but I would like to let you know, that if you PLAN on sending your head out to be milled, when you send it out, put in an order on eBay for the top end, or top/bottom end rebuild which includes the gasket AND many MANY more seals and o-rings and everything that will be very handy. These can be bought on ebay for like $30 (includes shipping) and I would have much rather bought that, but I wanted to install my head today and not next week, so I needed it now. Conclusion : When sending your head to boonman to have it milled (DOES GREAT WORK!), purchase a top/bottom end rebuild kit off of ebay to save you money and get extra parts.
-
Talk to boonman He does a great job, and does it for a real good price. He also has great turn around time.. He got m ine on a friday and sent it out monday. Many people have had him do their heads and also lighten their flywheels, no one isnt fully satisfied.
-
When re-installing my head, do I need to replace anything? (Seals?) If yes, where is the cheapest place to get them, and what are they called..?

Here is a link to someone asking how to get rubber from his sons boots off the pipes. This should help you out. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...&hl=shoe+rubber
