And this is where I come into play.... (being a UPS employeeee) UPS will ship anything up to 150 lbs. The cost for a package is determined by a few things. A) Weight Dimensions C) Where its going D) How fast its getting there There are 4 different catagories for dimensional weight.. *Regular packages (under 18x18x18 I believe) go as their actual weight. *OS-1 (oversized 1) will go as a 30 lb package, you could ship a feather in the box, and will still go as 30 lbs. *OS-2 (" " 2) Will go as a 70 lb package. Same as above.. *OS-3 (" " 3) Will go as a 90 lb package. Same again.. So if you were to break down the engine it wouldnt matter. That engine is going as probably 90 lbs no matter what you do to it. There is also "Crate" which is basically trucking, starts at $300, so only use this if your shipping more then an engine Hate to mention this, as its not my job.. but if you have it crated up, take it to the post office.. They may be less expensive. Only because they go by weight alone. Hope this helps, if you have questions about shipping contact me

another question, to rebuild the top end.. What will I need to buy. Would you all suggest I just go with boring? If so, what bore. I can get a wiseco piston kit off ebay for like $170 shipped for basically any size, what would you recommend? WIll I need to resleeve? Just bore? Let me know... I've never dealt witht his area of the quad. Anyone that knows someone to do work close to me, let meknow.. I really want to get this done fast. Another question is would it be cheaper to upgrade my quad? Like buy a newer shee with some mods already done, and swap some ofm y aftermarkets with stockers on it..? Then part out mine =( ?

Looking to get top end rebuild with port polish, the whole nine yards.. I live in saginaw michigan, im looking for a place to get it done close so I dont have to ship it out. Anyone know?
-
im not having trouble with it, i just want to make sure its that before I go and spend another $500 on her... I bought an 87 because I didnt have the money for a newer one, now I've got twice as much money into it as I spent on it, and is it worth doing this.. Whats next, my tranny?? Biggest thing is I want to ride, shee has been down for the last year, didnt ride at all last summer, now this summer Iw as gonna ride alot, but now shee's dead.. It just makes it hard to like whats happening to my bank account. So far all the money ive put into her, hasnt paid off... So I guess if its not being able to handle the fact that I gotta rebuild then so be it.. But damnit, I am soooo angry that I cant ride this weekend. Not to mention how long before I wil have my engine done? Another month?? That takes me to july, and I leave for school in august.. My summer of riding just went **POOOF** ***EDIT*** Sorry, just releasing my anger.

noticed on a different thread, someone said hold the throttle wide open when testing compression, would that make any difference..? I didnt touch the throttle when doing my compression test. Another question, my compression guage seems sort of bad for the job, i mean it works and all, but should I get one that screws in, or is my "rubber top" fine... It just says push it into the hole. $18 from car quest
-
Its not really a difference ofmuch.. they are both about 90 However, It hink a seal is bad or something.. It just doesnt SOUND right, I keep telling people that, but I dunno whati t is, it just doesnt sound like its sealed.. After I pulled the plugs, and did the comp. test, I put the plugs in, first kick sounded very odd, almost like it farted into the exhaust pipes or something.. Could this have anything to do with my reeds? I removed them prior to installing the trinity carb.. But is ito n upside down? Would that do it??
-
could be leaking.. Is that what the leak down test is for? Where do i get one..
-
will i get an accurate reading from what I did?? I had both spark plugs out, put it on the left, and kicked it over.. engine wasnt "hot" like the directions said.. but how the hell is it gonna be hot if it wont start! Another note, after I kicked it over like 5 times (to get the max compression) on the left, i pulled the guage off, and a small amount of smoke was coming out of the hole.. is that normal?? Pretty soon this thread will turn into, who does nice port work =( when i had the head off i looked at the sleeves, they looked excellent! no mark where the piston stops, the pistons looked good.. WHY ME!!!!
-
Not too sure if i did it PERFECTLY... but I only got 100 on the left, 80 on the right
-
Ya, ive been thinking of getting one... my dad told me not to waste my money on it, but back then I had no reason for it really.. Now I do. Also I left my plugs out all last night, so hopefully it dries out today. As for strong spark, its as strong as its ever been... its bright blue, sparks everytiem i push the lever by hand, there was a little gas on top of the head by the left plug hole and when i kicked it over that lit on fire.. I also noticed that when I took the plugs out, they were covered in gas.. If that means its flooded then there ya go, but I have no idea if thats how its supposed to be or not. So....something else is up, maybe its flooded...who knows. But I will pick up a set of fresh plugs today as well, and then by the time i get home from work it will probably be as dry as it gets. Any other comments are appreciated, i will check back in around 11:00 am EST

will try thaqt.....toamrrow,
-
nope, the wire was solid... not only soldered, but also crimped closed.. tomarrow after work i will check ALL of the wires, but i dont see how a bad wire would cause no start... it seems like it has to be engine related. i have the spark, if a wire was bad i wouldnt would i???
-
another note, i have spark on both sides.... i have only 1 carb (trinity single carb setupd) so i know that there isnt a problem with that.. i am FOR SURE getting fuel... cause I even tried quick start fluid.. solid spark on both ends, i will try new plugs tomarrow.. when I kick it over, it sounds kindof hollow...i dunoo what thats all about, but you know how when you have your plugs out and you kick it...it sounds like that.. i noticed gasoline right in front of the left plug on the head.. is there a seal thats bad??
-
no go =(
-
OMG DUDE! you jsut "sparked" my memory... the ground wire broke and i soldered it back on...maybe it isnt soldered anymore, (came off while shee was running hard???) will go check....
-
I didnt do anything to it... It started, ran strong, shut it off...went ot start the next day and there was nothing!
-
thanks for that offer, i love seeing how willing to help people on here are. however, I REALLY want to get this running by thursday, friday morning at the latest. If you sent it out tomarrow, it will take 2 days to get here from new jersey. thats taking me to thursday, then if thats whats wrong, i have to buy a new one...which will take a while to get. If someone in michigan, within an hour of saginaw has a shee...let me know! I will drive over with my shee and check!!!
-
did that, both of them if i put my finger on there with pressure holding it down, would blow air out all around my finger.. If i pushed down really hard, it wouldnt blow my finger off, but air would come out...minimal amoutn though.. would this cause no fire?
-
going to check that right now...
-
just trying to get more help on the topic...doesnt seem like anyone knows my problem.. truth is I have NO idea whats wrong.. CDI maybe, but heres the link to the topic...please check it out guys, I'm supposed to go riding thursday.. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...pic=28553&st=0&
-
just another note.... in the past, my quad has ALWAYS started when i have spark if i use quick start fluid... However, it isnt even igniting THAT... guys, ive never needed you more then now... i have a big ride that I'm leaving for thursday, and my quad wont start... ANY suggestions.... you guys have always known whats wrong, or have gotten me headed in the right direction, there has to be something else i need... FUEL, SPARK, AIR.... ?????
-
TORS removed, key is on... As for the CDI, i dont have any friends with banshee's let alone quads.. Anyone live near Saginaw michigan???
-
I will try new plugs tomarrow, the fuel line isnt clogged.. .Its brand new and its clear. The fuel is flowing fine. The gas is practically brand new.. like 3 weeks old. (you may not consider it fresh, but ive started her with year old gas no prob) I dont have anything to check my compression.. How do I do that? Someone has to of had this problem before... I mean come on, I have spark....I have AIR, i have FUEL....what else do i need??? SHouldnt it at least ignite the starting fluid?
-
Hey, last week I went to start her up, she started the day b4, but the next day she didnt.. So I thought it was my carbs, i had spark, and fuel... but no fire.. So I got a 2 into 1 carb setup, installed...still no fire, I have fuel and spark... PELASE HELP!!!! ASAP!!!
-
