  1. Man I have been racing indoor for the last couple of months I cant wait to get back on the big outdoor tracks.
  2. The spacers are ok. They are not the best mod out there, but they will give you a little better bottom end and they do help clear the clutch lever. Yes they do in front of the reeds.
  3. Blue have you tried any other carbs on your bike yet? I have a set-up close to yours and was thinking of trying some 38mm carbs for the big half mile tracks. I'm happy with my 34 pj's on the short track, but I think I can get alot more top end end with a bigger carb.
  4. If you cant get the chain the right length get a drimell or rotory file and make the holes a little longer where your axle carrier bolt sets in the swingarm ( the bottom holes). I have done it to many bikes it works good. do a little at a time and check the length.
  5. Jim built me a 390 stroker. I have been racing something since I was 6 years old and have never been on something that fast. He built my motor before the last short track national race and that bike would never stop pulling, it was almost scary how fast that bike is. The way I had him set-up my motor it has so much torque it is a great tt bike, also because you dont always have to be on the pipe to get around the track. Bottom line, you tell Jim what you want and he will build it, no shit.
  6. Not yet, but I have plans to race there soon. I here they have some pretty nice tracks.
  7. Go ahead and install your spacers, just because some people don't get good results with there set-up don't mean you will have bad results with your set-up . Form your own opinion of the spacers.
  8. I like the ignition for the fact that I can change my curves for every track I am racing at.
  9. I always put gaskets between my cylinder, reed spacer, reeds, and intake boots. I dont put any kind of sealent on mine so it is easier to change things at the races. If you didn't plan on taking it apart anytime soon I would seal it with Yamabond.
  10. I have used the pro design and the noss coolhead, and I have to say like the noss coolhead a lot better, I really like the looks of the new coolhead that Dave makes. I live close to Dave and anytime I need something he is quick to help me any way he can. If anybody has any questions about Dave or his products feel free to ask me. Jack
  11. I have been running them on my bike for awhile, what I like is they cost alot less than most shocks and if they are not working how you want them it is easy to find somebody to revalve them or rebuild them pretty cheap. They will last long if you have them serviced once or twice a year depending on how you ride.
  12. I think you will get better bottom end responce and power. They are a cheap mod that is easy to install. Check NOSSMACHINE.com for some reed spacers and other cool things.
  13. The first question is what are you lowering your for, is it to drag or flattrack? There are several differant setup for both. You asked about resivors, that depends on what kind of riding you are doing.
  14. I have to agree with boonman I think the amp link is worth the money. I races w/out one for a long time and was having traction problems, my would also skip the chain and the bike would bottom out when I would get on the pipe. I put it on before an asphalt race and it stopped all the problems. I wouldn't run w/out one, but that is just my opinion.
  15. I have 4mm stroker with a 5mm longrod crank, porting by passion racing engines, noss coolhead, 34mm pj carbs, dyna ignition, cpi pipes, my bore is 65.5, v-force reeds, and a few other little mods (top secret) If you have other ? about how your setup might work give me a shout, be happy to help. Later
  16. Proquad101 do you still run with those caps on? Yep, work good last long
  17. I used to run a boost bottle on my banshee but one day I was at a half mile race and blew the rubber grommet out on one side so I got walking cane tips and put them on my banshee, that gave me so much more throttle responce. I dont know if it will work like that on every bike but it worked good on my motor set-up.
  18. The best clutc I have found is the Yamaha stock clutch with 3 of the aftermarket springs. Works good last long!
  19. I had been racing for awhile with my CPI pipes on my bike and a small port and polish. Then I had passion racing engine do a race port and polish, there was such a big difference. I have been racing flattrack for about 15 years and never felt a quad pull so hard, so I would say if you are not planning on getting a good port and polish job I wouldnt get CPI I would get the toomey.
  20. Yes its top secret if I told you I would have to kill you. lol Hows your bike running, been doing any racin' any latley? I have been a few indoor shows trying to get ready for the shootout, are you coming to the shootout? Later
  21. I would suggest getting bigger carbs at least a 34mm carb if you want to take full advantage of the stroker crank. I run 34pj's on mine I have 4mm stroker with the 5mm longrod crank. About your clutch I would get the fzr600 clutch springs and put 3 of them (alternate) in you bike. The v-force are nice also. What pipes do you have?
  22. If you dont feel a big differance after installing you noss coolhead order a set if his 20cc domes, that should make a big differance and you can still run pump gas.
  23. It sounds to me like you need to adjust your jetting not your fuel oil mixture. What jets are you runing now?
  24. I had Passionre build my race motor. He did a great job on it , I have the 4mm stroker and 5mm longrod crank in mine. My motor is very dependable and never stops pulling on the track. I finished 6th at the nationals this year on the shorttrack (atva) you cant do that on unreliable pussy motor!!!! If you have any questions about passionre motors ask me. 8)
