  1. Well, it's a "little" more in depth than that but yeah, you sand it real smooth then polish it. You use the heavier grit paper to take out flaws and scratches and you work your way up through the finer grits to get that smooth finish. Usually people don't polish steel because it will rust if you don't protect it with clear coat. Typically, people will chrome steel parts. Aluminum parts can be polished to a mirror shine though. Here is a pic of a buffing wheel on a bench grinder Here is what you would look for at the hardware store (home depot, etc) This is what one looks like that you hook up to a die grinder
  2. Sandpaper and a buffing wheel. Use 400 grit, then 800, then 1000 or higher depending on how much shine you want, then use a buffing wheel on either a bench or die grinder to polish it up. For the sanding, you can also use rol loc discs on a die grinder, they work awesome. They come in 3 standard grits, coarse, medium, and fine. For the shifter you could use the medium then fine rol loc pads, and then hit it with the buffing wheel. You can polish this stuff without a buffing wheel if you want to grab a can of mothers polish and throw in a good bit of elbow grease, but the wheel on a grinder will give you the best results.
  3. You should try it now  He's gotten a LOT better at brewing, much cleaner taste
  4. LOL, thanks!! I forgot to mention I love steam beers too, especially after a hard day of riding. Blue moon is good as well (wheat beer), try it with an orange if you haven't already. My friend brews a lot of different beers, he's gotten really good at it the past few months. His steam and Oktoberfest is better than what you can buy in the store, and none of his beers are below 8% alcohol content, on average closer to 10%; and he serves them in pints   He's always calling me over to drink his beers with him, it's his fault my taste buds are particular to imported beer now  We'll be bringing some of his home brews to LS in March, we did earlier this year but that batch of beer was experimental and it didn't turn out too well, LOL!!
  5. AMEN, it's only fair! I had no idea Jackson and Sharpton said that, but I totally believe it knowing what kind of people they are :shoothead:
  6. Budweiser is disgusting! :yucky: I like drinking New Castle, Peroni, most porters, Belgian wheat beers are good; Rogue dead guy ale with steak or burgers is a must....There are several others, 98% of them are all imported
  7. With a stock tranny, my banshee would do the same for a lot of the gears if I'm over-revving it. Are you using the clutch when shifting?
  8. Always great to do business with, no bullshit, straight up business. Thanks John!
  9. First two things I would check would be to make sure the choke tube is still between the carbs and would also pull your carbs off and clean them; especially the pilot jet. If you don't have one already, I highly recommend picking up a clymers manual. Working on these are easy, and a lot of the routine maintenance can be done with hand tools  This link has a pic of where the pilot jet is in the carb, I'll see if I can find a pic of where the choke tube is... http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html If your banshee is completely stock with TORS on the carbs, I'd highly recommend getting a TORS eliminator kit. Check this link out, tells you what to do to bypass it until you can get the eliminator kit http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...r\.s\
  10. Why are you saying his pipes are trash?
  11. I was on ebay earlier just checking for the hell of it. Typed in Playstation 3 and then sorted by the highest cost then down...there was one listed for $100,000  All these people selling them online should just wait until the second week of December, that's when all the crazy parents will be frantic looking for them for their kids, willing to pay totally ridiculous amounts for them
  12. txblueshee kind of did something similar...he had a guy freestylin tattood on his back, looks pretty cool
  13. The info about the lotion/fading is good to know, thanks!
  14. I wouldn't worry about the pain when riding, I would be more worried about getting it dirty while it's trying to heal. I don't have any tats but have several friends that do...they always tell me you're supposed to let it breathe and keep it lotioned up until it heals
  15. Happy Birthday!!! May the boobies be with you
  16. Do you have any better pics of it? I've been thinking of trading my yfz450 for another banshee
  17. I appreciate the response/info...if you weren't so far away we might of had something to think about. I'm in Memphis, TN, a LOOOOOONG ways away. Sorry man
  18. ^^^^Thought his coolant is supposed to be mixed with his gas
  19. What brand/size carbs are on it? Also, who did the porting? Do you have any brighter or bigger pics of the banshee? Where are you located at?
  20. What kind of air filter setup are you running? Stock airbox, clamp on filters, etc. It could be a clogged outerwear, or just a dirty air filter.
  21. Ahhh, that looks a lot like mine how it is now, almost chrome PC
  22. I know what you mean!!! I'm in the same boat right now, but I'm starting from scratch trying to figure out what colors I'm gonna do...One day I like one scheme, next day I want something else... :: So many choices, only one bike to do up, LOL If you're any good with photoshop, it helps out a LOT
  23. ^^^^I agree. Even with a black seat, yellow on yellow would look good
  24. I can't believe I forgot about that, makes all the difference in the world
