Wierdness/No talk of the Clash

I agree to a point. Spending all that money on a bike to have someone else ride it is retarded. But that's striclty my opinion, I'm sure the races were a lot of fun to watch  -
Banshee project started finally!
bigboybanshee replied to Capone's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I ran 39's w/ my setup and it ran really good, so I know the 35's aren't too much. Depending on temps my jetting ranged from 165-170 on the main, 45 pilot worked best I had 175psi on compression. -

Thanks! I'll definitely check that, it didn't even occur to me

I'm really glad to hear I'm not the only one having this kind of problem. Maybe someone will know an easy fix

I like the second one w/ the checkered flag  -
If your float height is set to proper spec, can they still stick? I had a float stick on me twice yesterday, and I wasn't sure if it's because it was cold out and things just weren't moving properly, or maybe the float got out of adjustment. Last time I checked it, it was set correctly...and all I had to do was tap the side of the carb with a screwdriver and it came un-stuck. Is there anything I can do/replace to help prevent this from happening again? It's really not a big deal, I just don't want to be on a long ride and realize half my gas is gone because it's been flying out the overflow, LOL

I know an FMF silencer will work w/ PT's, and I'd be willing to bet T5 silencers would work too, but for both of those brand silencers, you'll have to make an "adapter" to mate the two female ends of the pipes.

I'm not sure of the needle, but my pilot is a 27.5, mains are 320's and a tad rich. I'm also running an airbox w/ the lid removed...mildy ported cylinders. On stock cylinders, I ran a 280 main, 27.5 pilot I'm about 400 ft above sea level, 50 to 60 degrees outside

Thanks Jeff! I'm assuming you got the package in good shape? Hope everything works out for you, glad to be able to hook you up

The TORS is just something that has been known to give problems down the road, which is why I and a lot of other folks will suggest to remove it before it becomes a problem. If the bike is running good now, and you're not sure how to properly do it, just wait. If you hang around the HQ long enough you'll learn enough about banshees to the point you'll feel comfortable working on it. Just be sure to do the routine stuff mentioned in the thread and you shouldn't have any problems. But definitely check your spark plugs to make sure it is jetted properly. Do you know what the plug should look like?

Yep! I'll be there Wednesday evening through Sunday morning.

I've run one for several years and have had no issues at all. I had mine done by boonman on here and his work is top notch. My banshee does rev quicker and I can feel a difference... I've been told that you should not run a lightened flywheel on an engine setup for dragging, for the same reasons mentioned above about the torque factor. I'm going to try that theory out this year, I'm running a stock flywheel on the upcoming drag bike, ran a lightened one last year

Yeah, they'll put a sign up w/ the name of the person who reserved the spot, and it'll be reserved for however long the person reserved it for...not all spots are "reservable", only the ones that aren't part of the state park (from what I understand).
-
I'm still planning to be there as well. We should be getting in Wednesday afternoon. Tyler, don't let me forget to send you those permits. I should have a little extra space on my "lot" if someone else needs it. I figure Derek and I will be on one lot, Tyler/his crew on another, and there should be one left for stragglers or party space  Things aren't looking too good for getting the drag bike built in time, but I'm going to do everything I can to get it finished, a lot of it is not within my control. I do have the blue bike though...at least I'll be able to ride something

The best way to tell if your jetting is correct is by checking the spark plugs. They will tell you if its rich or lean. If it's bone stock, more than likely the dealership jetted it accordingly, but it's always a good idea to check for yourself. I use bel-ray gear saver oil, 80 weight. But you can use any 10w30 motor oil. Changing it varies every person you ask. I change my drag bikes tranny oil after two nights of racing. The trail bike tranny oil gets changed after about 20 hours of riding. No "extra" maintenance...clean your air filter, check your plugs periodically, check your fluids, lube all your fittings, check your tires, keep your chain tight, and mix oil with your gas and you should be fine. Find the TORS and disconnect it

I'd be worried if you didn't...I don't think I've ever known anyone that didn't beat their meat before they were 15. If you pound your wife's pudding more than you yank on your noodle hats off to ya

It's what happens when you get married.

You have to be crooked if you want to be a "leader" in Tennessee!! Memphis' utility company is under investigation for letting city officials go without paying their utilities, while they raised the cost of utilities to the paying customers (myself). Then we have the mayor....whose got his hands in everyone's pocket. And then there's the Ford's....like I said, every leader or official in Tennessee is up to no good. I'd love to get out of this state :shoothead: http://www.wmctv.com/Global/story.asp?S=6148916

bigboybanshee replied to trueraiderfan's topic in Wanted
I've got a pair of foam filters but don't know what the inside diameter is....they came w/ my Keihin 39 PWK's. I can measure them when I get home, and if they work out, I could 2 day air them to you and they'll be there by Friday -
how much are these pipes worth?
bigboybanshee replied to ThE_BaNsHeE_mAn88's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I would clean them up the best you can and try to get 150 for them, which is a very fair price given they're in good condition. DG's aren't as bad as the rep they receive....I ran the DG national pipes for a couple years, very good mid range and decent top, they seemed to be a good all around pipe. Only reason I got rid of them was because they were rusted, and I like chrome
