  1. More or less. I'm heading out tomorrow afternoon to Kilgore for the first one after summer break. Jen said she might be coming on Sat. Anyways, I'll see what I can do about missing that race, it's not like I'm worrying about points this year anyway. I'd sure as hell hate to miss seeing some dude on a banshee wearing a led zeppelin t-shirt. dale, why don't you load up and come on down Kilgore way Sat??
  2. stock in the 4th clip if your under 1,500 or so feet. aftmkt needles suck if all you have are pipes and other small doodads.
  3. fatties are more of an all around. good low, great mid, good top. that's what i run. toomeys are a good top end pipe, and rockets are a great drag/top end style pipe as well.
  4. I actually try to use old plugs not new ones. New ones will need to be ran for 15 to 30 minutes pretty hard to start coloring much at all. If you just put them in and go plug chop, they might not have hardly any color, skewing your readings.
  5. I've been running mine at +4, but basically because of others' recommendations, have you noticed much of a difference between +4 and +6, tats? I've been thinking about advancing mine a little more, but if you bring something like that up here, everyone shuns you back to +4.
  6. I did read on the Klotz site that you do not want to store it (sealed or not) in a plastic container. It said that the makeup of plastic will absorb the certain particles of the fuel and it will basically go bad. If your going to store it or not use it somewhat quickly, store it in a sealed metal container. I might start buying 30 gal deals of VP. It'd be nice to have here rather than running for fuel all the time.
  7. if it runs good and the frame seems okay, then that should be a pretty good deal. hell, plastic isn't that much, be sure to look beyond the plastic. that quad is 15 years old, look at the frame joints and look over the motor and the cases. if all's good, i'd pay 1,400, well actually, I would for a 250, not a 500, but it's worth that.
  8. Damn. Never mind.
  9. It'll work awesome.
  10. Holy shit!!!!! I have a freaking race on October 24. GODLDLK:JTPOIFPHJ*W$%*&^%&^&$%^%$!!!!! I don't know what to do.
  11. Out of curiosity. When looking at race fuels and other doodads, a lot of times they reference the compression ratio, like this or that is for a compression ratio of blah blah. Well, I'm wondering how you figure this, or maybe someone has a table of lbs. compared to the ratios. Like how many lbs. is a 13:1 ratio? You get my drift. Scott
  12. Was just thinkin last night, I might have a race that weekend. Not sure, I'll have to check. I sure as hell hope not.
  13. I try not to do "wat" too much, but sometimes you just can't help it.
  14. Porting can be such a variable, it's hard for anyone to tell you a really good ballpark. I'd say start around 155 and see how it looks. I'm not real experienced with dual pwk's, so I'm sure someone else will chime in to give you more input.
  15. ok, both great, but both totally different pipes. do a search on both and you'll have tons of reading. search button, top right corner
  16. Well, I actually haven't thought of that. If it's not too busy of a weekend, I just might be able to. On busy weekends, you have to get there on Wed. for something that "small", but I imagine on I'll be able to get that hoss in there that weekend. I'll need to check with what shows are going on, cause I share it with my madre from time to time. Good idea Dale. There's plenty of room for cold ones in that hog.
  17. Yep, and my PC2's are plenty loud.
  18. Yes yes, hope you'e had a great birthday. How old are you again??? Have a good one!!
  19. "... you are correct sir..." yea, the first few months of '03, when the motor had first come out is when they had trouble, and all the trouble was computer related. they've since changed programmind and injectors that communicate better and work together better. actually, i have an '03 with 30k miles and my dad has an even earlier '03 with 50k and neither have had one problem. and let me know when you're ready for the "BHQ discount" on hoppin that baby up.
  20. ..and it sucks when that happens.
  21. yeah, i realized that about an hour after my last post here. i was thinking about the arms during installation and realized the heim joints are where it djusts. I'll maybe look at that tonight, not really looking forward to dicking with that, we'll see where they're at.
  22. Yeah, try that.
  23. Definitely a blockage. The antifreeze should burn the shit outta you, like 150 degrees or so. If it's not hot, then it's not flowing through your rad and your going to overheat it and blow it up. Find the blockage, could be the impeller is bad.
  24. Holymans right about the sprockets. It could be something simpler like new chain, worn out sprockets and the chain is walking up. Anytime you put on a new chain, you should replace the sprockets if they also have any wear.
