i think the dampeners work like i said before, like a screen door with that piston that slows down its return, its a preastoric design, i found that i faught the denton,the scotts soon became my ace in the hole for reel rutty terrain, having the control right on your bars is priceless, on a two wheeler you have the "up and down" on a quad you have the up and down and side to side, with a good stabilizer the side to side is so slight you fell like your on a 2 wheeler, that scotts on a CR is heaven........ a two wheeler with that stabilizer makes it feel like your riding on bumpy pavement

damm knight im sorry man i just now saw your post, yeah i use a stock stem, i have a shee with the lsr stem and your right the scotts wont bolt up to it without some mods, im glad to see you got it happening........

i think if all you want to do is climb a hill shorten your swingarm 2 inches so you get some hook, that bike stock will climb like a billygoat providing your sitting on the axle..........

i would try the fatest fuel lines i could find and drill your gas cap out so it can breath, dont oil the shit out of your air cleaner(whatever it is your running) just clean it constantly

if its a stock bike i wouldnt bother, you can run something like trick racing fuel that you add to your premium unleaded fuel, if youve got the compression and need to run race fuel then yeah youd better, i think, im not sure but the stock motor wants to see the unleaded premium gas.........

im with mike the 450 shock isnt much of an upgrade, my elkas were somewhere close to 2 grand for the fronts and rear, and the scotts stabilizer was 480.00 but i can do 80 down a trail and hang on so you get what you pay for.....

if its a stock axle there cheap, or maybe its time for an upgrade, as far as bending it straight, if youve got the gear and the time, what can it hurt, maybe it will straighten out, probally never be dead straight but, but what the hell....good luck man

if you have a carpenters framing square, you can put it from your swingarm to the axle and check both sides till its perfectly at 90 degrees to your swingarm on both sides and thats about as straight as your ass ends gonna track to the chassis, faster's tip is dead on you gotta tie your bars off or youll chase those tie rods around for hours, you can allways put a six or eight foot level or straight edge across your back rim to your front rim, with the level sitting full on the back rim you can ajust both sides of the front rim to square up or plane in with the rear, i allways toe my fronts in twards each other about a 1/8" cause when you pinn your shee that little bit of slop in all your front end hardware, spreads slightly, so when your doing 80 your bikes going dead nuts straight

well ya i know that was me....... i told ya that would be sweet, and it was my pleasure to hook ya up......... walt sent me a counter spocket bolt i couldnt get for two weeks and i was racing that weekend, he wouldnt even let me pay postage, i changed a clutch one night reading meats tips on his site, these guys are HQ icons, ive pissed and barked with both of them, but i would really hate to see them go and hope they can burry the hatchett and hang out, i know walts diggin nevada riding some bad ass trails, gambling at night seeing some great ass, and meats prabally still climbing those dirty nasty black fricking hills, but this site was built around knowledge and they both know it all about shee's, well all this ass im lickin's leaving a shitty taste in my mouth im going to go crack a beer
