  1. Was kidding about mouse nest by the way Thought Larry was kidding w me but maybe not as this quad could have had a nest in there lol
  2. I can afford about 300 - 400. Just not sure if thats the end of the money pit for this quad. its in rough shape. When you send out the top end out do you usually want to get new pistons with the machine work so you know everything is matching up correctly?
  3. I just checked and there was a whole family living in the right silencer. Is there a special technique to remove mouse nest from right pipe?
  4. So I was looking around for a shop that would do the heads. What do you guys think about this service on ebay?: The company is Lakes motorsports. Anyone heard of them? http://www.ebay.com/itm/321070173293?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  5. I just realized that I said green wire. I was answering this post while I was cooking dinner. So is it as simple as looking for the wire and making sure its connected/ grounded correctly?
  6. @1shee I haven't pulled the reeds, I did check the compression. Was at 100 on each cylinder. I bought new plugs, cleaned the filter. I'm going to double check one of the carbs again. One fell off the wheel when I was installing. might have jacked the float up. I do have the tors for now,. I have a tors removal kit ready to go but wanted tto make sure the bike was running before I installed. What is the green wire your referring to and also what does a leakdown test entail. I guess I can google that part before someone posts the google seach animation on me lol.
  7. I cleaned all of that stuff. Jets look new. I cleans and blew everything out with a high pressure compressor. I know the air screws hve to be adjusted and I need new pipes which sucks because I dont want to buy stock pipes for 100 and I dont want to but after market pipes to learn the quad is not good lol. I'm worried that I will have to replace the head or jugs/pistons.
  8. Should I drain the cases out if the bike has been sitting for 4 years? I guess so. Is that to drain crank case oil? They were gummed up with old gas and rock hard fuel lines so I took all the plastic parts off took them apart, soaked them overnight in carb cleaner and returned them back to what looks like new carbs. The gaskets were still good so i didn't replace those.
  9. I just got a Banshee and I need to jet it. The thing is a piece of junk right now. I'm trying to get ti up and running. Its all stock but I'm going to ave to get new pipes. So if you have stock or after market pipes I would really like to hear what your jetting setup is. Thanks in advance for the help.
  10. Hey guys, Its been about 10 years since I had a banshee. I'll just call my self a Banshee noob because I know nothing about them. I have a couple quick questions. So I got my hands on a Banshee that wasn't running. Hasnt been started for 4 years. I rebuilt the carbs changed the coolant because I had some laying around. Gave a little squirt of starter fluid and blam she started first kick. So now all of the bad. I started the bike and it appears that one of the silencers coughs out a little smoke then either stops allowing exhaust to flow out or stops emitting exhaust. I took that pipe off to see if exhaust was coming out of the 1st half of the pipe and some was but it sounded like fireworks were shooting off so I turned the bike off. Also, I looked under the bike and it looked like gas was dripping from the bolts under the engine. Is that possible? I didn't install overflow tubes out of the carbs at this time so gas was coming out from there. Its possible that it might have overflowed off the engine where the gas was coming out of the carbs. So I guess the questions are, if I have one pipe emitting exhaust from one side and not the other what is most likely the problem. Is it possible to have gas leaking from under the engine? If so whats the general cause? I know these might be obvious answers. I would appreciate the help. Any advice would be much appreciated. Trying to get this thing running good. Heres a video of what this is looking like:
  11. I was looking around. The only way I was able to find the part was when I searched for banshee carb. 15 a rebuild kit is a solid price.
  12. Ok, cool thanks for the info. I'll keep those on there until I know the engine fires and runs good then I'll take those off.
