  1. you could go 19's or even 18's, if you have a stock crank dont go hog wild with the compression, true your stock crank or just have the motor ported and built, the hotter your top end is the harder your bottom end will be getting abused by the piston rods......get a compression tester, i think around 160 psi you'll have to run race fuel, im at 180 psi and use 118 octane, and could probally be ok with 108, at 2-3 thousand feet..... david at noss knows his shit and will help you out, he has an elevation graph on his website you can find out on the internet, what the elevation is where you ride, but i think a chat with dave and a compression tester will be you best bet

  5. you just proved my point Justin, custom valved would mean the guy valving your shocks came out and watched you ride for a couple days and built you a shock according to his observations, not you answered a series of questions and he built you a shock, you got the same shock as the last guy who claimed he weighed 170 pounds and rode fast over bumps......
  6. I think the kid might be right, he talked to Eric at elka.............. And actually the guy does know his shit, unfortunately I think they do add a loop in the coil to the primary spring over revalveing them. Elka as sweet a shock as it is, is built generic, so are all shocks
  7. there not threaded but do adjust up and down for your preload, there soft on top because thats the nature of a triple shock and they probally are shitty with your travel, but they bottom later than a double if your jumping and ride softer than a double on the trails, id get a a primary spring for a double rather than take your "third spring" off......... install the new spring and then take that keeper thats holding the top of the spring......... adjust it to the top of the shock body and that will lower your preload, changeing your ride height in the front and you'll still have some what of a shock remaing

  14. well heres the way i see it your going to end up there anyway.......... i mean you could get pipes and that would be neat but you cant hang on to the fucker pinned without the chassis and shock mods, then when ya have those you'll want it faster cause now you can hang on, some guys will say build the motor then get shocks and chassis mods well fuck with stock suspenssion you cant pinn the motor you got and hang on, i have a buddy i race with who has all the chassis and shock mods yet his motor is bone stock no pipes nothing, and he's so fucking hard to catch, that stock banshee pinned hauls ass, if i didnt have chassis mods hed completly smoke me it doesnt matter that he has 37 horse power and i have 80, but on the pavement i leave him like he was standing still but on the track the little prick wins 50% of the time we race
  15. i think if your dirt riding you dont need the dune swinger nor the 22's, i drag guys all the time with long swingarms and allways get the jump on them and after that its just keeping it pinned and shifting, if i put a 15 on my bike id loop it on my launch............i have some kenda bearclaws that are 22's ill put them on for just billy goating around hills,but its a big heavy tire............ sometimes your bike will rev out fine in neutral but lack nuts with a load on it, it would be nice if you new someone local that really new his shit, that could take a peak at it, do a plug chop and see if its running lean maybe it needs more fuel? i dont know theres so many varibles, but with your mods and a 15 you should be breaking your arms when you nail it......
  16. this would be my top 5 and i would do them all at once 1. race engine with all the goodies(porting, crank, pistons, clutch, timing, impellor, carbs, airflow, reeds, pipes) 2. chassis (a-arms, swingarm, bars, pegs) 3. suspension (only the best, why fuck around) 4. stickers from everything i just purchased (for my tool box) 5. modified income (to cover the 10 grand i just spent on my banshee)
  17. im with rocket boy that bike should be climbing the walls with a third gear launch with a 15 up front, why do you run a 22 in the dirt? im geared 17/40 thats about ten teeth taller than stock, and i just rev it to the rafters and dump the clutch in second and my wheels dont stop spinning till im about mid fourth gear on regular hard pack dirt and my swingarms 2 inches shorter than stock, if i need to hook up i have to roll my throttle on, cruising in fith if i goose the throttle and feather the clutch i can spin my tires, with your mods geared stock you should be able to launch third and wind sixth to the moon

  20. yeah an 18 will fit, just take the chain off then the sprocket, then put your 16 on, then the chain, if you have a stock swing arm and a fresh chain you might need to add a extra chain link, im not sure, if not youll hook that much better your axle will be closer to your motor, the 16 will pull twice as hard as the 15 again providing your motor has some balls

  22. naw im thinking your gears will stretch and pull like a son of a bitch, and you'll shift a lot less, providing your motor will pull the taller gear, your top speed will be a 100 mph rather than 70 mph, guys that drag have 100+ ponies and run a 18/38.......
