You should split the case and clean it right. But I think you already know this. If you want to take your chances, then turn your Banshee on its side and wash the lower end out with Kerosene.

I must have done something wrong. I only got 11 hp.

broke and I were there, along with four of our friends. It was a good time, but hot as hell!!!!! We all learned how hard a CR250 can throw rocks.

Damn Quick, calm down. I don't think anybody was wanting to go out and copy someones work with this thread. I was waiting to hear some numbers too. Port timing on a 2 stroke is similar to cam specs for a 4 stroke. People compare cam specs all of the time and a knowledgeable gearhead can get a general feeling for how a 4 stroke engine will run by the cam specs. I figured you could do the same with 2 stroke port timing. I was hoping to gain a little knowledge with this one. Although I do understand your point, B370. No one is going to go out and grind their own camshaft. But a few of us may pick up a die grinder and hog out some ports.

We are going to be there at 9:00. Which means we probably won't get to the parking lot until 9:30. It will be me on my black and white banshee, a friend on his RMZ250 dirtbike, and another friend on his KFX400. White Trash, Spoin are you guys going to be there?

The All New YFZ 450 Stock Versus Stock Banshee
mrmatt replied to xt45's topic in General Banshee Discussion
The banshee doesn't have a chance, unless they are on pavement and the 450 rider can't shift. It takes a good rider on a piped banshee to be a stock 450 on dirt. The 450s may not have the addrenaline rush of the banshee, but they are respectably quick. -
Clymers says that that stock Banshee plug is a B8ES, but everytime I buy plugs from the Yamaha dealership they give me BR8ES. What does the R stand for? And should I even care? It seems to run the same with either type.

This is the best glue that I have found for plastic. I have never tried it on ATV fenders, but it may hold up until your next crash.

You can use stock silencers with the PT mids. But, like Wassup said, you may not get all of the potential out of the pipe. Since you don't want to change the exhaust, you have a couple of options in your price range. 1. Porting 2. Reeds + Advance Timing + Aftermarket Air filter

Spoin, I'm surprised you're not heading to Wildcat this weekend. I heard they were racing. I will be at the Badlands on Sunday with a couple of friends. We will get there at 9:00 if spoin is going. Otherwise, we might not get there until 10:00 so that we can avoid the check-in traffic jam. My wife will also be there, as long as she doesn't have to work. If she does come, we will be taking it pretty easy. This will be her first ride since she broke her foot. We will park in the lower lot, near the shelter, like last time.

Not A!!!! If I see that wheel correctly is has a ring around the outside, similar to the strength ring that they put on ATV wheels. I can hear the rocks banging around in there from here! That won't polish out.

A lot of people use a utility knife or sawzall, but I used a 4 1/2" grinder with a metal cutting wheel, because I have better control of the grinder. Then I cleaned the cuts up with a flat wood file, then with 120 grit sand paper. Lastly, I used a propane torch to lightly melt the cut so that all of the sanding marks disappeared. You will have to keep the torch moving to keep from melting the plastic too much. The perfect temperature is right when the plastic starts smoking.

I bet your stess level just went down by a factor of 10. Glad to hear you're settled in. Haspin Acres is a lot of fun, but you will want to get new front wheels before you go there. It is mostly woods and that really wide front-end will have you scrapping bark off of the trees all day long.

How about October 2 & 3?

Opinions on extended warranties on new vehicles
mrmatt replied to dalegoldston's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I never buy extended warranties. Not for cars, trucks, appliances, home electronic, nothing!! It is just insurance and a way for the dealership/store to make more money. They figure out how much the average repair will be in the time period covered by the warranty and then charge that amount, plus administration cost, plus profit, and that is what they charge for the extended warranty. So if you are willing to take the risk you stand to gain the amount of money that they calculate for administration costs and their profit. This is a gamble, but in the long run I will come out ahead. I have had to replace appliances/home electronics that quit in the time period that would have been covered by the extended warranty. But I have had way more items provide trouble free service throughout the extended warranty period. Since I always work on my own vehicles this is another reason for me to skip the extended warranty on the trucks/cars that I buy. You may not be able to do this, so the warm fuzzy feeling that the extended warranty provides may be worth the cost. It is worth the cost to many people, just not me. Most importantly, read the fine print of the extended warranty. These usually do not function like the normal factory warranty. Many times they have deductables and are less willing to fix repairs without trying to blame the failure on poor usage/maintenance. Finally, have them state the actual cost of the extended warranty. When I bought my last truck they tried to roll the cost into the monthly payment. It didn't sound all that bad, until I had them break the price out. They wanted around $2000 for a couple of years coverage! I said no thanks, I can buy a lot of parts for $2000. Just my $.02. -
To be honest, I didn't really notice my Banshee being easier to shift after I had my shift star modified. This may be because I wear riding boots and I can't feel much through them. But, the fact that I can now find nuetral was worth every penny spent. My Banshee had gotten to a point where it was almost impossible to find nuetral, now it is soooo easy to find. Thanks Boonman.

Get an extended 'stock' swingarm. I bet you could add 3-4 inches and no one would notice. Last time I checked, Quiksand did this for a little over $100.

using -2 footpegs AND aftermarket nerfs
mrmatt replied to Minkia38's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Pro-Armor or AC sells Nerf bars with the pegs built in that are relocated. -
I'm am going to be out of town this weekend, so I won't be there. But I was checking out the arena on Monday night. It doesn't look like there is a lot of room there. How long is the drag?

I agree. If they didn't install the intake boot properly, then it may have let dirt get into the engine, but it would be on the air side, not the fuel side. So this shouldn't result in a clogged jet. Let Alba figure it out, for free.

Sorry I didn't see your post. I was wrenching like a madman trying to get my Banshee back together. I didn't receive my shiftstar back until 9:00 pm on Friday and I was at a family reunion all day Saturday. I had to steal a bolt from my wife's Warrior, but I finally got it back together.

Your flywheel key could be sheared. Did you recently install a degree key?
